What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: everything
the drawers are cheep and broke within the first month. the freezer thawa and the fridge freezes. Have been asking for help just want to get rid of it.. repairman tried to say it was because it needed a surge protector. it is doing the same thing it was doing before he came out. I HATE IT. The doors don't close automatically either.

What's great about it: looks ok
What's not so great: parts die young
I've had this refrigerator for 2 years with no problems. After 2 years the 'main board' went bad and needed to be replaced. The Ref. comes with a 5 year warranty but only on the compressor and not on electricals. News to GE -the compressor won't work without the electrical! $400 later and the fridge is working -but for how long? steer clear of GE.

What's not so great: food in the door mounted shelves doesn't get cold enough
I bought 2 refrigerators five months ago: GE bottom freezer and LG with french doors and bottom freezer. The LG model is performing well, but I continue to have problems with the GE model even after the service call. The main problem is that things stored in the door mounted shelves are not cold enough; if I adjust the temperature to a colder setting, then things in the back of the refrigerator get frozen. So I had to move the food around to compensate for the uneven temperature. As a result, the function of the door mounted shelves is largely lost because I had to put the most frequently used items in the least convenient space towards the back of the refrigerator.
Also the door handle came loose, and the flaps over the vegetable bins broke. The latter two problems were addressed by GE, but the main problem - insufficient coolling in the door mounted section - remains.
