Seemed like a nice idea but almost nothing on it worked. We could play music fine but neither the microphone nor the feature to mask the vocals worked properly. The microphone worked for a minute or two but the volume was very low even if turned up. Then, there was static and virtually no sound from the microphone. The vocal cut-out feature didn't work at all. This was a Xmas present for my daughter so I felt pretty bad and told her we would see if Santa could take it back.

Bought it for my 12 yr old daughter, she also has iPod touch. Great accessory for her to play and sing along with her music! She loves it!!!

We had to return this item 3 times before we switched brands. The only negative purchase we have made at Best Buy. It was a Santa gift for our daughter and we had to return it the day after Christmas. Thankfully the girl working went along with my Santa story and found my receipt in their system.

I bought this one because it offered the ipod capability. But the karaoke screen only works if you download the videos on your ipod. I could not find any karaoke songs on itunes. And purchasing online karaoke stream did not work either. Music would play, but not the display on the karaoke machine. Otherwise it seems to be OK for the price.

What's great about it: Does what it is supposed to.
What's not so great: Sound quality not great, but better than karaoke in a bar!
I use this at home and I LOVE it. Of course, it doesn't play the lyrics from karaoke files on your IPod. Of course, the sound is not stereo system quality. I did not have any issues i setting it up or using it. I've had it a year and use it 2-5 times a week with no problems. There are controls on the machine to determine singing volume versus music volume. Yes, you need CD+G files to get the full karaoke experience. This is a great home machine; it is not a professional karaoke machine, but it's less than half the cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this for an outdoor party. I ran the outputs to my outdoor projector and outdoor theater speakers.....What a fun time. The kids enjoy the machine inside as well. For the cash outlay, it's a fun little karaoke machine.

What's great about it: fun while it worked
What's not so great: stopped working
My daughter LOVED this item! the only problem is that is stopped working about 3.5 months after we got it. Right after the warranty ran out. So if you plan to Buy make sure you get the extended warranty BB offers you will use it.

What's not so great: poor sound
I thought this was such a great concept, being able to use an ipod with the machine. Unfortunately, every CD I put in skipped and the sound quality was very poor. (never even hooked up the ipod) When my daughter sang into the machine, you could hardly hear any sound. We ended up returning the machine and are now looking for a better option.

Definitely not what I expected. It was even missing parts to it, like the power cord. Had to use one I had at home from another electronic. The sound was not that good. I ended up taking it back and now I'm back to looking for one that meets my expectations.

What's great about it: sounds good, easy to use
What's not so great: not compatible w/ fourth generation itouch
My 13 year old took it out of the box, read the directions for 5 minutes and used it. Sound quality is fine, you can hook it up to the tv or read the lyrics off the unit's screen and it's portable enough that she can move it from room to room if she wants. We have used it often over the past month and it seems to be pretty durable. It is not compatible with a fourth generation itouch so we use karaoke discs which are purchased separately.
All in all we're very pleased so far.

none of the ipods songs would display in the screen, there was the song playing but thats it. no lyrics....

What's not so great: Extremely unreliable after getting two defective units.
Returning my second one! Don't buy this karaoke machine. The CD player on the first didn't work and the second one plays the CD's but garbled and the screen displayed only every other word. Really disappointing and I won't make the mistake of getting a third one!!

I was very dissapointed with this karaoke machine. The sound quality from the unit itself was very poor. When connected to the TV and home theater system the music coming from the machine was off from that coming out of the home theater system. The lyrics on the TV were very distorted and not appealing. The i-pod dock would charge the i-pod but wouldn't produce any sound or pictures. I returned the product. I have purchased cheaper karaoke machines in the past that produced much better quality.

I bought this for my kids, but we cannot view ON TV the videos that they have on the iPod Touch or my iPod Classic from 2008! The machine is just not compatible, the manufacturer says it on their website, which I found out AFTER I could not make this work. The machine will not read the CDs we have burned at home, the machine will play the ipod tunes we have on the ipod, but I was looking forward for my kids to sing along the videos we download from youtube that have the sound of the song and show the lyrics.

What a wonderful karaoke machine for my 9 year old daughter. It has great sound quality. Works very well with your Ipod because it will just play the Ipod & charge it without using it to sing with. The words go on the screen just as they are supposed to. We were a little disappointed with the first one because the CD player did not work the minute we got it out of the box. Not sure why. But the 2nd one works like a charm. I definetly reccomend this Karaoke Machine to anyone who loves to sing for fun!

I MADE THIS PURCHASE FOR MY FOUR AND two year old daughter FOR CHRISTMAS AND THEY LOVED IT. I MY SELF FIND THE DOCKING STATION EASY AND HANDY TO LISTEN TO MY IPOD AND AS ANOTHER CHARGER FOR MY IPONE. THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS ITS LOUD BUT NOT LOUD ENOUGH.

What's not so great: the ipod doesnt work as u would assume it will.
When i first got it i had the impression the ipod would work like any other karaoke cd but it doesn't. In order to have the words show up in the screen you must have special karaoke songs or cd's so for the price they sell its not worth it. What i did is return it for a cheaper karaoke and i just bought the expensive karaoke cd's and at the end it came out less than the price that i bought this karaoke for.

We were very skeptical about purchasing this machine because the reviews either loved it or hated it. It turned out to be a really good karaoke machine; good sound; decent microphone. For the price, it's a very good product! We used it for a New Year's Eve Party and had a great time! We took it out of the box and were using it in minutes. I highly recommend this machine. Some reviews said the music was louder than the microphone sound, but we didn't find that to be true. We didnt' have any trouble playing ANY type of karaoke CD's. Very satisfied.
