What's great about it: Got it on clearance for $60 What's not so great: large
"Mainly bought this because I'm tired of backing up all my pictures up on DVD's. Easy to use. Advertises 320GB but only 298GB, no big deal still plenty for what I'm using it for. Got it on clearance for $60."

What's great about it: Nothing I've found... What's not so great: It dies about every 3 months
"I purchased this device in order to back up a computer that had a failing hard drive. Well, three months later when everything is fixed and I'm ready to put all of my stuff back, the drive decides to fail. I HAD ONLY USED IT ONCE PRIOR. So like the title says, if you want to find something reliable to back up your data, this is not the one for you."

What's great about it: Works right out of the box, nothing to do but plug in and go What's not so great: So far no problems
"Only had this one day but it couldn't have been easier to use. Just take it out of the box, plug in, attach the usb and it's ready to use. Just what I was looking for. I have a brand new desktop and the hard drive has crashed twice in the first 6 weeks so I need something dependable to back up every day. So far this Simple Tech is doing the trick. Hoping it lasts a long time!"

What's great about it: AWESOME price, easy setup, fast transfers What's not so great: Somewhat USB powered, not a big deal
"I bought this yesterday to back up my Macbook Pro. It was as simple as they come out of the box, not even an instruction manual (not needed). Just the drive, a stand, a power cable and USB cable. I plugged it into my computer and easily set it up with OS X's Time Machine. I'm not completely sure where that extra 50 GB is as mentioned in the other reviews (maybe they just got REALLY lucky, who knows?), but whatever. It still has plenty of space. It shows up on my computer as 297.77 GB, and my hard drive is 250. The only qualm I have with the Simple Drive is that when the USB port it's plugged into is powered down (i.e. when I close my laptop), the drive powers down, and when I open my laptop, it sees the drive is powered down and gives me a "improper device removal" warning. I almost returned it for that reason, but then I just plugged it into to a self-powered USB hub, and now it's fine. Would definitely recommend this awesome hard drive."

What's great about it: Very easy to use (plug in and it appears as a drive), great price What's not so great: Bigger than I thought (8" x 4"), although its not a problem
"Exactly as described in the information. You literally plug it into the wall, and into your USB port in your PC (power cable and USB cables provided), and the drive appears on the "My Computer" folder. You can create whatever folders you want on this hard drive. I then just dragged and dropped and files or directories I wanted to copy. It took maybe 30 mins to dump 80GB of info from my Thinkpad to this hardrive. It also comes with software to speed up transfers, and also to help you schedule regular backups of selected data on your PC."

What's great about it: every thing What's not so great: could have a longer cable but no big deal
"This drive is great no installation just plug it in. It reads as a drive on your computer and instead of 320 its over 370 gb. under a 100 bucks for almost a 400 gig drive is worth it im glad i got this one instead of the other higher priced ones which some got bad reviews. it turns on and of with your computer. with this drive i dont need to up grade my 160 gig in my computer this drive is part of it just not inside the one thing that my be bad about this drive is the usb cable is kind of short but who cares it works great"
