What's great about it: Great Quality, Amazing Picture!

"Bought this monitor/tv for gaming and high end Architectural Graphics. I have used older Samsung monitors before and I have noticed a better quality in the products. I figured I would give this one a chance. I love it had one problem with my cable TV too many splitters so the quality dropped so I ran a straight line and used a higher frequency splitter and the picture is amazing. I have played all sorts of games on it (Noted I have 2 Nvidia 9800 GT 1GB SLIed together) but the picture is crisp and clear. Text is amazing my father doesn’t need his reading glasses when reading off the screen. 2 HDMI slots prove useful with my Xbox 360 and now all I need to get is a Blue Ray drive for my computer and I can really see how good movies look. The only problem I have with this monitor is I had a custom cherry desk fitted to my old monitor and now I have to make a new monitor stand!"

What's great about it: Easy to Set up, lightweight, Beautiful picture with numerous settings for every individual.
What's not so great: A little wobbly on the stand but still sturdy and will not fall over, built in speakers are a little weak

"This monitor is perfect for combining your electronics into one entertainment center. It's big but not to big and fits on my desk perfectly to use as a second monitor. I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to it with an HDMI cable creating a clear detailed 1080p image, with the surround sound going through my computer, thus eliminating the slight fault with the Built in speakers. The digital and analog cable channels all come in much clearer with less static as well. The only problem i see is that it can be a little wobbly, i have it on my desk so i'm constantly bumping the desk and shaking the TV, but it will not fall, just shake. However, I don't see this being a problem at all if it were wall mounted or in a spot with little or no physical activity. I have also fixed this problem by just supporting one side with a couple DVD's or something. Overall I love this TV Slash Monitor, It allows me to compile all of the things I use into one area, my TV, surround sound, video games and computer are now all easily at my disposal."

What's great about it: Very bright & great image quality, Multiple inputs and easy setup. Stylish design

"I shopped around and compared many products. When the dust settled, the Samsung was the clear leader. It has numerous inputs, great image quality and a sexy design. Not to mention, it's just the right size for my office. Setup is a simple and the options are many.

I use the Samsung primarily as a monitor but it Displays 1080i beautifully. I recently connected my Blu-Ray player and the resolution was amazing. This is my second Samsung display and I couldn't be more pleased. My only griipe is that the on board speakers are severely lacking. Really doesn't matter as I have it connected to a 5.1 system anyway. Now I just need to pony up for another so I can have dual monitors!"

What's great about it: Lots of inputs, HDTV, HDMI, big, great picture
What's not so great: Monitor won't go to sleep when using HDMI

"If you want One Screen for your PC, settop box, game console, second PC, and HDTV watching, this is for you. Unencrypted Comcast HDTV channels work great and the broadcast HD channels integrate into the analog channel lineup in order (HDTV channel 4 next to analog channel 4, etc). HDTV antenna reception is very good, better than my PC HDTV tuner. I had to manually change the screen ratio to 4:3 and 16:9 for SD and HD channels, respectively, but it remembered after that. HDMI (two ports!) works great, including audio with the built-in headphone jack, just make sure your HDMI cables are of a recent revision such as 1.3b (I failed to do that before posting my HP dv4-1155se notebook review, ignore my HDMI trouble comments there, it works GREAT now) as earlier revisions may not work correctly with PCs that need far more bandwidth than TV settop boxes. Having a remote is very handy even when not watching TV.
Cons: when Vista tells the monitor to go to sleep, the monitor ignores it when using HDMI. DVI and VGA worked. Both my desktop and notebook did this (Radeon 4850 with HDMI adapter and Radeon 3200 respectively). There is a USB port for upgrading the monitor's firmware, maybe Samsung will fix this."

"This is a good quality monitor. If you need a PC monitor and you want one that can handle video and graphics processing well then this is a great choice...
However, you can get a 50" Pansonic plasma 720p for approx $300 more...so keep that in mind if you want the pixels in yo face!!!!"

"If you are shopping for a TV or a computer monitor or both then you have found what you are looking for. This monitor beats the heck out of any other computer monitor that anywhere has to offer. I did the research, i did the math, and i did the time. It all added up to this. I am actually writing this review on the t260hd. I have it hooked up to my computer, my hd cable tv box and my xbox 360. As far as a monitor goes it has anything and everything that you could expect out of one. High contrast ratio ( the measure of how many times brighter the color of true white is compared to true black). A super high resolution of 1200p (1080x1200, which is even higher the 1080p) And finally it doubles as a TV
The TV aspect is great. It allows you to view over the air hd (1080i) and prepares you for the digital age which is coming in February of 09. It has 2 hdmi inputs, 1 DVI, 1 component and 1 NTSC input for your cable tv. if you are shopping for a monitor and this is in your budget, please please buy this one or you will be so so disappointed. Trust me."

"Fantastic LCD for TV and computer use. I did a lot of research and this was one of the best. It sports a solid pixel pitch (2.87), good brightest (300), great contrast ratio (1000:1), high response time (5 ms), 1080p, and lots of connectors. I easily set up my PC, MAC Powerbook Pro via HDMI, and cable TV. Great performance when running Crysis on 1900x1200 resolution. No dead pixels and beautiful display that's easy to customize."

What's great about it: Comparatively good picture quality, decent contrast, 2 HDMIs (saves cost of a hdmi switch), digital and analog outputs
What's not so great: the non-screen surface is a fingerprint magnet, power button is better off not being there

"So, I've been looking for a decent HD tv for about 3 months and did a great deal of research and found something lesser than my budget.

The T260HD is not just a monitor but also a HDTV. The built-in tuner is pretty good and the initial setup to recieve cable and local channels are child's play. We all know how to do this anyway. So, what makes this item my favorite?

Well, the features of course! 2 HDMI inputs are sweet for me; saves me another 60-100 bucks on a hdmi switch. You have multiple audio options available. You can hook up your computer speakers using it's standard audio cable (headphone out). You can hook up DVI, and digital audio as well. Well, in short the interfaces that this equipment has are pretty sweet!

The picture quality is not THE best that you would get on the other samsung 1080p dedicated HDTVs but, very close to it that you can't tell unless you have the two side by side. BUt, if you have an upscaling dvd player or a BD player, then ignore this statement. It makes no difference.

I have this connected to a Samsung BD p1500 and that's probably the best HD deal for my budget, well actually I am very satisfied!"

"I bought this monitor on 8/16/08 mainly to use with my 15.4" MacBook Pro for video editing. I purchased the model with the built in HD Tuner mainly for those instances when the cable goes out or when I wanted to listen to TV when using the laptop.

1) For the main use with my laptop this monitor is superb! I use Final Cut Express 4 and this monitor gives me all kinds of screen real estate and the 1920x1200 resolution screen looks just great. Also if you have never used dual-monitors before you are in for a treat! Using this monitor for FCE4 and having my laptop screen free for other things is just a joy yo use.

2) The HD Tuner works great! I needed an HD antenna due to my location but it picks up all the local TV and HDTV channels just fine. It was nice to have the Olympics on right next to me while doing regular laptop work.

3) You get all the cables you need except one, the HDMI cable, which is odd considering you get two HDMI ports but it's certainly not a deal-breaker. I mainly needed the DVI cable so I was very happy to see that in the box.

4) This monitor has alot of features and looks good too! I will be buying a PS3 soon and will look forward to running it on this monitor for gaming and Blu-ray movies. The speakers built in to it is fine for normal TV viewing if you are sitting close to it but I plan on adding an external set down the road when I hook up the PS3.

5) My only real complaint is that it does not tilt back or forward (I knocked a point of design for this), I had to get a stand to get it just right at eye level, which is important to me while working with video but once you hit the sweet spot it's awesome!

This is a wonderful piece of equipment to use and would highly recommend it to everyone!"

great hdtv, wont work with sony laptops 08/25/2008

"i bought this item and had to return it 2 days later as i was unable to get it to work as a monitor with my sony vgn-nr180 laptop. geek squad couldnt get it to work with their laptops either (all sony). this seems to be a known issue as ive read of others having this problem on tech sites but as yet have not found an update to fix. sony and samsung tech support have directed me to generic pages advising to hit fn+f7 keys and similar useless info (i tried all that). suggested links from chat tech sites to various bois and driver updates have not worked either. i actually plan to re-buy it this weekend at preferred customer sale just for the 1080p hdtv. normally for under $1000 you have to settle for 720p which isnt really full hdtv. i had to take off one star for not working as a monitor, particularly as it is advertised as a monitor, otherwise it's a great deal."

"I'm upgrading from a 24" Samsung monitor and am very pleased with this purchase. The monitor serves dual purposes; doubling as a HDTV. The large screen size at native resolution provides sharp images and is easy on the eyes. The HDTV tuner recognizes cable clear-QAM signals and shows them to maximum benefit. The auto-scan function even deletes scrambled channels automatically; the first I've seen in a moderately-priced display. Initial picture quality with HDTV was good, but better following calibration. To achieve the best-possible picture quality as a monitor and HDTV, I found that adjusting the TV picture using the monitor controls, and then tweaking the DVI digital monitor picture using the PC-based software suite provided equally superior images. My only disappointment is the inability to watch HDTV on part of the screen while computer output is displayed on the remainder of the screen."

Great, but with one big HDCP flaw 08/06/2008

What's not so great: OK PC Monitor, but HDCP is spotty

"Picture wonderful for TV. Not as good as a regular PC Monitor for that function.

Biggest problem is that HDCP is a hit or miss thing. Works with some things but not others. This is noted on nearly every test report or review out on the Internet. If you want this for Blu-ray then check it out first and don't get burned. Newer Graphics Cards on PCs tend to work 75% of the time. Most older ones don't get past the HDCP."

"I shopped for 2 week before deciding on this monitor and I did my homework right. The picture and graphics are outstanding. Tweeking the resolution was easy and setup only took a couply minutes. The only downside I found was the viewing angles,but I fixed that by going wireless to help. You cannot sit too close. No dead pixels. A little on the pricy side but well worth it."

Best bedroom HDTV/Monitor 08/02/2008

"This is the perfect bedroom TV. The color brightness and accuracy, and the sharpness of the HDTV and DVD output is my idea of perfect. Connect a PC at 1920x1080 resolution and a Logitech diNovo Mini bluetooth keyboard/touchpad and experience a marraige of high tech and laziness that represents a quantum leap in couch-potatohood. There's even a stereo jack input for PC audio card output to play PC audio through the display's speakers.
TV channel changing is much faster than my Sharp Aquous 1080p HDTV. This really is an exceptional monitor. At $599, the BestBuy price is actually better than almost any Internet dealer. I had a $100 off coupon for purchases of $599 and up, making it an absolute steal."
