"I really wanted to like this monitor. I spent a lot of time reading customer reviews and looking at monitors in stores. My biggest fear was dead pixels and thankfully there were none. However, there was an unexpected problem which killed the deal for me. The color is not uniform from the top to the bottom of the monitor. The color at the top of the monitor is noticeably darker than at the bottom. For example, if you open a window with a lot of folders in it, the folders in the top row are dark yellow and the folders in the bottom row are faded yellow. As another test, drag a window in XP from the top of the monitor to the bottom and watch the color of the bar change from dark blue to a lighter shade of blue. I tried to fix the problem by running the included Magic Tune software, but the software would not run on my computer. I doubt the Magic Tune software could have fixed such a strange problem anyway. This problem looks like a manufacturing defect to me. Anyway, a monitor costing $450 should work right out of the box with no additional adjustment. The most I should have to do is press the automatic adjustment button and be done. The monitor will suffice for web surfing, but for $450, I expect perfection. I returned the monitor."

What's great about it: On Windows, images were pretty clear. What's not so great: On Mac, the images were horrible. At ideal resolution, the screen flickered constantly; otherwise, poor readbility.
"I have a Windows computer and a Macintosh computer connected to a KVM switch. The KVM switch is then connected to the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. KVM switch allows me to use one monitor, one mouse and one keyboard while connected to two computers. Anyhow, after going through one "bad" Samsung (26" HD), I returned it and got the 24". Although my problems were not as bad as the first Samsung, I still experienced a great deal of problems on the Mac side. Finally, I called Samsung directly and they told me SAMSUNG DOES NOT SUPPORT MACINTOSH. I was shocked but relieved to know it wasn't my fault. I was able to return it. I have bought about 10 monitors in the last two years and this is the first time I have heard that a monitor does not support Mac.
Speakers were better than other integrated speakers. I got a Gateway and will order the speaker that connects to it (less clutter on my desk). The Gateway has a glossy screen and the colors are vibrant. Plus, the images are beautiful on the Mac side, too."

"Ive had it for 3 wks now and i wont get off the thing! Wanna buy a 2nd so i cant dual screen! Got 360 which looks oh so beautiful and my PC connected. Havent tried the Tv connection but have only heard great things bout it! Definately recommend this to everyone! Great product at a great price. Def getting what you pay for!"

"Flawless dead pixel(s) right out of the box. Super easy stand setup+black with deep red tint base/frame. Monitor will lean/tilt forward & back 6 inches. Current configuration : 1920 x 1200 resolution + DVI cable = feels like virtual reality. Color customization menu via software + remote control, for advanced screen techs like myself, was ultra detailed. No gamma streaks on the screen & 100% >>>ZERO<<< glare from any background lighting! If you cannot afford a Panasonic or Sharp the overall quality of Samsung has arisen second to none. Backstory of buying : BestBuy metaphoric name IS true. They matched and beat/undercut a competitors price by $15 dollars! Fair and good business 100%."

"I did some research and decided that this was the best monitor for my needs. I wanted a HDTV, but it also had to be able to be a second monitor for my PC, and this fits the bill very well. It has DVI in for my PC, as well as component or HDMI for the cable box. I don't have any game consoles, but it does have a 2nd HDMI port on the side. It would be nice if the stand had a tilt, as looking at it from anything other than dead-on does somewhat change the colors/darkness. It is OK side to side, but a change in height does make a difference in all LCDs that I have used. The high res (1080P/1900x1200) does really help even 4:3 channels (or at least it looks better than it does on my 32" Samsung 720p TV downstairs. I sit closer here, though. And there is no help for Comcast's quality issues. How many people get TV over the air where a tuner is even needed? I say it is collusion. :-)"

What's great about it: Great color, built in ATSC Tuner, Update-able port. What's not so great: No wall mount? No power "button" - the touch sensitive isn't sensitive enough for me, usually I just use the remote.
"I debated between this model and the 20,000:1 model. I chose this model because of the extra ports, functions, and uses.
I've had this monitor for about a 3-4 months now, use it for Tv, DVDs, Laptop - secondary monitor, and XBox 360. Its great for gaming, very nice, crisp, and clear picture.
Kinda expensive, If your willing tho shell out the dough I highly recommend Samsung."

"Using in my room for PS3 and also for TV. Only hooked up the coaxial cable and scanned for channels and got some 20 odd Digital TV channels which I hear are ones that are required to be unencrypted.. I don't know for sure. but I get them in 1080i and 720p. Can watch blu-ray in 1080p, but at 24hz.. Can't figure out if I can change the hz output because it says it's range is more than that. But this monitor is great for the price. Not much of a tilt option for the stand at all, but it easily rotates on a semi-swivel. Looks appealing with red hue in the bezel. Now it's priced at $500-I paid $549. It is a TN panel also I believe, TFT."

AFTER GETTING IT HOME I DECIDED TO READ SOME REVIEWS ON IT BEFORE INSTALLING IT ON MY SYSTEM; GLAD I DID. RETURNED IT TO BESTBUY WITHOUT EVEN OPENING IT AND THEY GLADLY EXCHANGED IT. THE T240HD IS JUST AMAZING! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WANTING TO GET A GREAT VALUE ON A TV CAPABLE MONITOR. I JUST USED A SPLITTER OFF OUR COX PHONE LINE AND HAVE AN AMAZING QUALITY TV WITHOUT A CABLE BOX{ NO PREMIUM CHANNELS }. AND FOR A PC MONITOR IT IS TOP NOTCH AS WELL. What's great about it: Great price for 1080p, high contrast ratio, bright and lots of connections What's not so great: Cheap sounding speakers, no back panel to cover wires, not the widest viewing angles.
"I use this TV/monitor in my bedroom, connected to my PS3 (HDMI), Directv (HDMI), and my computer (DVI). watching a Blu-Ray on my playstation, the picture was stunning; clear, smooth, and had none of that blocking that I have noticed with many other HD computer monitors. Playing a game was also very smooth, clear and (unlike most LCD monitors) had very little motion blur. Also the 1920 x 1200 resolution gives you plenty of room to do everything without making text so small you have to have squint. Only drawback is the speakers. I used the monitors speakers when I first setup the monitor and they sounded cheap, but this is hardly a deal breaker for the price. Overall I would reccomend this HDTV/monitor to anyone who needed a 24" HDTV or computer monitor or BOTH!"
