What's great about it: Great Sound....Music COMES ALIVE!!! What's not so great: Price, but if you cant afford them you shouldnt be buying them anyways
"First off.. If you cant afford 299.99 for these you should`nt be buying them. But these are the BEST that money can buy for this price range and comparative products (Bose OTEar, etc) While Bass Heavy for rap and rock, it even makes Beethoven pleasant to listen to.. I listen to R&B and Hip Hop mostly, and this is what Beats were made for. When in use with my Zune HD the music is ridiculously flawless... the ear muffs on these cans are really comfortable, and dont get all sweaty. Yes it needs batteries, yes they are 300.00, yes they get all smudgy with fingerprints. Do you Love music??? Then these are the standard for me from now on....Go cop these"

What's great about it: Amazing sound overall, comfortable, great looking, iphone adapter included What's not so great: sound leakage
"Once you use these you will realize why people like Lebron, Kobe, Dj Tiesto, and Will.I.Am endorse these headphones. Nothing has better style for sound. The bad part is the sound leakage, pretty much everyone else around you hears what you are listening to so if you are embarrassed by your music these would not be a god choice. I would HIGHLY recommend the 2yr protection plan for 40 bucks. If you look at the displays in the stores many of these are broken due to overuse from normal wear and tear."

What's great about it: the sound quality, you hear every instrument What's not so great: wish you didnt need batteries, but its cool.
"When i fiirst saw these headphones and heard about them i instantly wanted them! i like to LISTEN to the lyrics & 9/10 you wont get that with headphones but with BEATS you will. Although the price was a bit steep they are worth every penny!! You hear instruments and all sorts of things you wouldnt with regular headphones. The vibration from the bass of the beat of a song is out of this world. Makes you feel like your in another world. Most important, when the music is playing, thats all you hear with the noise cancelling feature. Point blank: if your a big fan of music, i suggest you get these headphones."

What's great about it: Excellent audio quality What's not so great: Overpriced. Fragile unit.
"Anyone that knows me knows I like music. More than just like music, I really enjoy various kinds of music. With a 120GB iPod classic almost filled with just about any artist you've ever heard of, I'm more than just a casual listener; I'm an enthusiast. Monster has created an excellent product to listen to your favorite music which treats your ears to best possible audio experience. Sure, they're not for everyone given the price point however considering the average music listener is satisfied with most supplied ear buds, this steps up the experience. Be warned however, they are fragile and prone to damage if not cared & stored properly. AAA batteries powers the unit so your portable device doesn't suffer the power draw thus shortening battery life."

What's great about it: Comfort and sound What's not so great: The case it comes with may crack the sides of the headset if you are not careful.
"So I finally bought the hadsets of my dream! I first thought I must be crazy to spend this much money on a pair of headset but after reading reviews and actually hearing them inside Best Buy I gave it a try. Boy was I up for a treat because not only have I had them on ever since, I cant stop thinking about them! Yeah let me get down to earth.... AMAZING headsets. The sub, the different tones and voices are all top quality. After trying the Dr Dre I couldnt believe how great they actually sounds. This is deffinetly worth every penny. Hey, if you are in doubt about buying these headsets then here is the message: BUY THEM THEY ARE WORTH IT. Monster cables are great and their products are top of the line. Well, they now have also top of the line headsets. Way to go Monster!!"

What's great about it: ummmm... EVERYTHING What's not so great: maybe the price for some
"These headphones are awesome. A co-worker brought them in one day and i listened to them and fell in love. It's unbelievable what you hear through the music. A few people said that rock music doesnt sound that great but i put them on listened to a few rock songs and it sounded awesome. You can hear every note in the music. It is absolutely unreal. You know how in some rock songs you cant hear the bass? Thats not the deal with these headphones. Even though the bass is not needed in my opinion you can still hear it so clearly. On rap/hip-hop songs these things will bounce off your freakin head! I just ordered mine yesterday and I cannot wait to get them. The price is a little touchy but if you want good quality in your music these are it. I would definitely recommend these to everyone.."

What's great about it: Sound quality, reliability What's not so great: Price may restrict some from hearing great music
"I love both Rock and Rap/Hip Hop. I think its fair to influence folks that love only rock to try out a few other high-end headsets before buying these simply because they are pretty. When the good doctor put in his two cents with this project; its hard to believe he wouldn't be, at least, a little biased towards his own music genre. Which brings us to the main point: these headphones are a revelation when collaborated with rap music. They sound phenominal. Without talking you to death about highs, mids, and lows, these sound great. Technical experts are extremely helpful, but at the end of the day, no two people hear a sound and interpret it the exact same way. Nobody can tell you what to like and not to like. You can sample them at best buy. You know what you like and you know your own value of 300 dollars. Lebron James, Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant, Deron Williams, and Floyd Mayweather are just a few guys that stand by these. I do too."

What's great about it: These headphones deffinately deliver a full sound , you will be surprised What's not so great: it may not be worth the price that they are asking
"Ok so here is the deal with these headphones, when i first got them i was having extremely high expectations for the price, and i was deffinately let down..BUT!! these headphones are a improvement from your standard sets and are without a doubt the first choice if your listening to demanding bass that i desire, and being able to listen to it without having the speakers is what you want right? well it brings it on, the bass is deffinately as good as it says on the box, deep and low and it dont miss any hits, yet the mids and highs do get lost into the mix when the bass is hiting hard but still, the highs are clearer and crisper than any headset i have owned and the mids deffinately level everything out well, now ive put on all diffferent kinds of headsets and these are deffinately the most durable and you pay for that quality , remember one thing though.. they might not be worth the price to some who just want a decent headset, this is top and for top you pay the extra money and sometimes a little extra and i agree for those who say your paying partly for the name Dr.Dre and Monster.. which always over price their products..so look, this headset is impresive but not as impresive as i wanted, i reccomend it regardless even with the soundleakage, atleast others know you aint messing around :))"

What's great about it: They can take a beating, and they are quite comfortable What's not so great: Way overextended Bass that drowns out the poorly executed and rolled off minds, and the tinny rolled off highs
"I purchased these headphones to review on head-fi.org as compared to IEMs (in ear moniters) like the UE Triple Fi 10 Pro, Sure SE530, and Westone 3, and cans like the Sennheiser PXC 450, or the HD 600 and 650.
First off lets get on to the small but decent good. Like most expensive cans these are quite durable and they have a great design. They feel sturdy, and quite solid despite their plastic composition. However that is where the good ends and the worse and horrible begins.
Before I listen to any headphone I allow about one hundred hours of burn in with a randomization of music at normal listening volumes. This works out all sound issues and give the IEM and/or Can the benefit of the doubt when being reviewed. However no amount of burn in could save the putrid sound quality of these... things.
The only thing that rang out more than a carpenter that put a nail through his hand with his nail gun, was the way overextended bass. Not only does the poorly designed dynamic transducer give over extended bass; it does so by completely drowning out the mids and highs. In some songs where bass is not an issue I found the bass drowning out chords and vocals left in right in almost all genres of music.
Now for the mids. Most headphones have overextended mids that can be fatiguing or annoying to some. This makes the music sound like its being muffled, however this is the first set of headphones I have listened too where the mids are so rolled off by the bass they are almost nonexistent. In areas where you would hear clear sound stage, these phones have almost no sound stage. Music feels mashed together and then regurgitated into your auditory canal leaving your eardrum and cochlea to do what it must to separate the mess into something, somewhat enjoyable.
By far the worst thing about these headphones is the highs. I have a pet peeve with any headphone or IEM that have "tinny highs." Tinny means it sounds somewhat metallic as if talking in a aluminum can. While not having any mids creates one thing the designers of these monstrosities tried to overextend a the quite rolled back highs. The result sounds like the Tin Man of Oz decided to join the boy George band and put his pipes to the test. However other than the vocals they place symbols, chimes, high hates, and other music far in the background when its not playing by itself. So while a song might start off with chimes and sound decent, like their kiosk with these things, once music starts playing those sounds go far into the background.
In conclusion if you are a real music lover and you want to go full tilt but cant stand in ear monitors, go with either the Bose Quiet Comfort 3s, the Sennheiser PXC 450s or the AKG K272HD. Their price might be a little bit more than the Monster beats but their sound is worlds better. If you want better sounding and cheaper headphones the Bose Triport On-Ears can really give these POSs a run for their money, and at nearly half the price. If you have the money go with the Sennheiser HD650s they are by far the best sounding cans I have reviewed and are on par to almost equal to my Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Pro IEMs."

What's great about it: The sound is truly amazing. It feels like they're singing for you. What's not so great: Maybe the price but if you want amazing you have to pay a little right?
"I have not bought it yet but my mom is planning to get it for my birthday! We went to best buy to look at headphones and we saw the beats so i told my mom to try them on. She said she loved them and it sounded like you were right there listening to them sing. And that's my mom who doesn't really listen to music. I tried them on and she was right. The sound was way better than any headphones I've used in the past and you could feel the bass."

What's great about it: comffort, size, clarity, deep bass. What's not so great: other people will say it sounds like you have a home theater strapped to your ears
"i've bought and replaced 4-5 pairs of headphones within the last year in search of the perfect pair from shure *my fav of the three* to bose to even sony.... which yes, i know is a bit OCD. but if you love music and games and movie SOUND like i do, then you will know it's worth all the effort.
oddly enough, i am going to start with the negatives about these phones. the first of which, is uncontrollable - i understand this. but - with that said - they are battery powered. they do not function at all without 2 AAA batteries. which, like i said, is understandable and unavoidable. My only other complaint about the beats is that the sound bleeds horribly. i have countless people telling me i will go deaf listening to them at the level that i do, and other people telling me just to turn them down. To me, this is avoidable. i understand they get loud - but i also understand that other headphones do a MUCH better job than these do at avoiding sound leekage. With that said.....
I can't believe i am now one of the loyal followers of doctor Dre's headphones. Nothing against dre - but i stay away from just about anything with a "check out my awesome product so i can make even MORE millions" from a celebrity. if they didn't have a celebrity badge on them, i would have bought them a lot sooner.
but nonetheless these things are amazing. Monster and Dre did an awesome collaboration. What surprises me is that they sound amazing with anything that you throw at them. They were intended to be "DJ" stylish headphones and yet they do amazingly well for movies and videogames. With my movies and games, i want sound that is inside my head. i also want it to sound like i've got a couple subwoofers going off. they definately deliver there as well. It seriously sounds like you have a complete - high end - home theater wrapped around your head. Late night movies/games while the baby is asleep is now a possabilty. .....just so long as i don't wake up the misses with the leekage....
In conclusion - they seperate the high, mids, and lows extremely well. The high defintion drivers hit loud and clear with amazing accuracy and quality with everything from hard hitting rap to soft classical music. i've had them for just over two weeks now, and used them for about 2 hours every night listening to various games, movies, music and i'm still on the first set of batteries.
An all around great product."

What's great about it: Great bass response, look great, amazingly clear and loud! What's not so great: Minor sound leakage
"If your in the market for headphones and your looking for the best then look no further cause these headphones are absolutely amazing. For the past couple weeks I have spent countless hours reading reviews, watching reviews and shopping at every store to see which headphones I want and all fingers pointed at the Beats By Dr. Dre. They look amazing, sound amazing and are worth every penny of its price tag. The only small problem I have with them is that they do leak some sound when the headphones are turned up. But that's okay because if anyone around complains about the noise, its most likely cause they're jealous that they aren't hearing songs/movies like you are. I have worn them for several sessions of 4 and 5 hours at a time and have had no complaints of discomfort or heat on my ears. I've listened to about every type of music with these headphones and there isn't a thing they do wrong. The highs, mids and lows are perfect. Its like being right in front of the artist while they're performing in the studio. Also, these things can get incredibly loud and not distort one bit. I would highly recommend getting a set of these if you love all the sounds of music."
