What's great about it: Graphics are great! Like WWII games, overall, great game. What's not so great: Server Refresh has problems. Need to restart game if you want to refresh servers, hopefully next patch will fix that
"Play this game like every night! Love it! Gameplay is great! Don't need disk for multiplayer gameplay, only for singleplayer. Overall, love this game and will buy the next one!"

What's great about it: Challenging even at beginners setting What's not so great: Very short, sound effects very muted
"I own every one of the Call of Duty games, this one I had high expectations for and was very disappointed. The sound is a big downfall, despite my high end sound card, everything is muted and on quiet a few occasions the lead in movie sound stutters and cuts out. The length of the single player game is too short for the money. All other C.O.D. games are superior to this rendition."

What's great about it: unlocks and quick gameplay What's not so great: Spawn shifting in online play and glitchy
"This game had a lot of promise coming out but really disappoints. Similar to COD4 the online play involves shifting spawn points (i.e. if one team beats back the other team into their spawn area the spawn points will switch). It is less of a problem than it is in COD4 because most of the maps are bigger but there are some instances where this really ruins online gameplay. This really could have been the 2nd coming of the great original WWII FPS game Battlefield 1942 but Activision seems to have nobody capable of being creative and for this product just made a WWII version of COD4."

What's great about it: graphics, fun, online What's not so great: online could of been better
"good game. sp is pretty fun. i think its as good as cod4. If you like WWII games you will like this one. online is pretty much the same as cod4, run around and shoot. the price to me is worth 30-40 bucks. 50 is over priced 2 me. but if you love WWII games or cod you will love this one. one more thing, dont forget 2 patch your game if your goin 2 play online."

What's great about it: Single player set to veteran level or harder, Co-op Zombie mode, Multi-player What's not so great: Need much better system specs. to run smoothly than stated.
"Let me first say that I generally get Call of Duty for multi-player. Have played evey title since COD1 has came out. I read the negative reviews and disagree totally.
I first tried this on an older system that ran Modern Weapons without a hitch. (Pent. 4 3.4ghz., 2.5 gig ram ,8600 GT card.) Loading time was extremely slow but multiplayer ran great once going, single ran good on lower settings. Got the Gateway FX 6000 and all problems resolved. Loaded remarkably quick and ran smoothly on highest settings. So what I'm saying, its not the game people are having problems with, its time to upgrade their computer specs. more than likely!
Single Player -If you enjoy WW2 genre, than you should really enjoy the single player campaig!n! It is a little short, but I suggest completing at the advanced levels. Good Luck! I felt the graphich were fantastic, the musical score very well done. Loved every thing about it!
The co-op and zombie mode is a great extra feature. Get a few friends together and host a online match. All I can say is it's intense.
Multiplayer is similar in style to Modern Weapons, and people complain the guns arent powerful enough. Well it's WW2, what do you want? There's more skill involved using these weapons. As you go up in level and gain rank you also unlock stronger weapons and perks which give you plenty of fire power! I will agree that multi. has some glitches, but with a few patches they will be resolved. Modern Weapons has had 7 Patches to date. The cost of $50 is totally reasonable considering the length of playing time you'll get from this game, more than likely years!"

What's great about it: The graphics, going back to WWII What's not so great: It's got some bugs and the single player could be longer and more imaginative.
"Ok, so the game has some bugs in it. What new game doesn't? I have to shut it down now and then and restart it, but I've never had it crash, give me the blue screen of death, or anything of the sort, and neither has anyone in my clan. The single player isn't up to par with CoD, CoD 2 ect. but it's very playable and enjoyable. We enjoy it so much we rented our own server and play it there on a regular basis."

What's great about it: Multiplayer is fun, on the off chance you get it working What's not so great: one of the buggiest games I've ever played
"Ok so I bought it the day it came out, despite the fact that I know it would suck being that Treyarch developed it (CoD3 anyone?) I gave it a chance though, leveled to 65 online. This game is awesome, especially if you love games that don't work and have horrible mechanics. It's essentially a mod for CoD4, only they didn't fix any of 4's flaws, they simply added in tons of new ones. This is by far one of the buggiest games I've ever played. Theres countless errors, its glitches out constantly with the sound (and theres no work around for XP), it crashes constantly, causes blue screens, theres tons of connection problems when simply trying to get into servers. The guns aren't balanced by a long shot. The tanks are incredibly overpowered.
The only really good thing I can say for WaW is that Treyarch is by far better at multiplayer level design compared with Infinity Ward. I have to admit, I'm pretty impressed with the maps.
As for single player, it's no better than CoD3, and if you played 3 you'll know what I mean."

What's great about it: Nothing yet, haven't played it for more than 5-10 minutes until freezes up What's not so great: Everything. There are a lot of bugs in the game preventing playability
"I'd suggest you go over to the Call of Duty forum before buying. There are a lot of users reporting problems with this game including myself. Developer hasn't mentioned anything about the problems other than telling people to roll back their drivers, which is stupid. I would wait until they have fixed these problems."

What's great about it: Building from the cod4 technology, everything is a bit more refined sound/graphics wise. war and capture the flag added What's not so great: ww2 guns, but im only lvl 27, so i have 73 levels to unlock the rest of the guns. NO BULLET MARKS???WHATS WITH THAT????
"honestly, being such a new game, everyone is still learning the maps and where the good positions are. i get the feeling though that the maps were kinda thrown together, not a lot of tactics involved. unlike, showdown and bog, xroads in cod4.personally ive only played in the series 4 and 5, so ww2 is "fun" still. but like the others may have said, cod4 still imo is a better thought out game, guns are "funner" maps have more teamwork based trails and theres a lot more blood in cod4, but more goore in cod5.
my machine that ran cod4 at best settings, has slight bog downs in cod5, and my graphics gard does run 10 degrees warmer than before. right around 70 celcius which is still in the comfort zone. 3.0 ghz and 3 gigs ram and 8800gt oc video card. yeaaa! for preordering. now it backordered...lol."

What's great about it: graphics What's not so great: gameplay
"I totally agree with OKINAWA78's review. I just shelled out $52.99 and all I've done is just run and gun and get shot fairly quickly and then have to wait till next game to respawn, will continue playing Ultimate Tournament III,and this game will just sit on shelf!!!! Only the graphics are good, but their supposed to be!!!The campaign play is a joke it's the worst of all the COD games!!!!"

What's great about it: Online play is great, Story and graphics are even better What's not so great: a little gory, but not a stranger to those familiar
"This game is the best on of the series. It takes place in WWII as the previous COD games except COD4. Taking the online gameplay from COD4 and made it into something similar with new upgrades, and of course the change of theme. I've enjoyed COD4 and so had to pick up COD5. Easy for most to pick up on, fun to play, and a must for a fan of the series or of shooting games in general."
