What's great about it: Improved graphics and challenge What's not so great: Not enough new features added
"Final Fantasy 2 was (like for a lot of people) one of my favorite rpgs. Back when it first came out it was a great story revolving around great characters. I must have played around ten times back then and found it challenging every time. This new version is nothing short of pure enjoyment. I can see younger gamers enjoying this game even though they mat have missed to original release back in the early 90's. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves rpgs. The reason for the 4 star rating is that the game is outdated compared to modern rpgs. But I give it 5 stars for graphics and for fun because it's even better than it ever was."

What's great about it: Updated Graphics, Augment system allows more options, Good old Final Fantasy, Little bit harder What's not so great: Cheesy Add-ins like Whytkins & Stylus walking
"Square has joined the reissue crowd bringing yet another one of it's classic gems to the DS system. Not that we're complaining, they do make them better with each release. This will be the 3rd time this game is available on US shores. Final Fantasy 4 recounts the classic story of redemption & friendship. Yeah- it's like most FF storylines. But the gameplay is as good as it ever was, and the audio/visual upgrades are welcome and gorgeous. There are a few thrown in add ons so there's something new for the gamer who's already bought this on previous versions. Like the Stylus control to walk around...could have been better, would have liked to have used it in battles. Oh, and those Whytkins. You get a pet monster at the beginning of the game that you play minigames to powerup for a Player vs Player battle. Cute, but If I wanted to raise a pokemon, I'd play Pokemon. The best part has been the improved AI on lots of the enemies. The bosses are a lot quicker to resort to thier special & ultimate attacks, making the game a welcomed notch harder. If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you've probably already got this one somewhere along the way- if you're new to the series, this is a good place to start!"

What's great about it: Revamped Graphics, Voice overs, and improved music while retaining the classic gameplay What's not so great: may fill outdated to some
"Back in 2006, Square enix released a game that never made it to the shores of the US called Final Fantasy III. It was remade from the ground up with 3D graphics and improved sound but retained the gameplay from the old game. While it was a great remake, its gameplay couldn't stand the test of time and was being too boring and to hard. Now the team is has released another remake of one of its classics, known to some as Final Fantasy II (IV in japan). They have learned the mistakes of the remake and did a overhaul on the whole game, improving not only the graphics and music but also adding voice overs to give it a modern fill. The gameplay was improved also but still kept the feel very much the same. If you are new to the franchise and want to give the game a go or you are a long time fan wanting how the game compares to the orignal, then get Final Fantasy IV."

Great remake!

"To many, Final Fantasy IV is one of the best in the entire series and I agree.
In fact, it has always been my favorite of them all, so I was really waiting for this remake and hoping and wondering how they could make such a classic game better. Short answer: they did. Playing through it again is almost like playing through it and experiencing the most memorable characters and music for the first time over!
If you love Final Fantasy IV this has to be the best version of it. If you are new the series, this just became the best place to start!"

What's great about it: Graphics updates, cinematics. battle system What's not so great: none
"This was one of the best Final Fantasy's ever released. It has some of the most memorable characters in the Final Fantasy series, including Cecil the dark knight who becomes a paladin. This is a great opportunity for those that are new to the Final Fantasy series and want to see where the series came from. I would recommend this to any FF fan, new or old, even if you have played FF!V before. The new graphics and cinematics are worth it alone."

What's great about it: Everything What's not so great: None
"This is the remake of the 1990's FF2. I can remember the version on the SNES and GBA were fun! This remeke is a definate buy. If you are a fan of the FF series, this game is the one that spawed all the current FF's. An Epic story, with all new 3d graphics. The music and voice acting are superior! If you are on the fence about purchasing this game... GO GET IT! You will not be disappointed! My 2 cents.."
