What's great about it: Great wireless range and speed, display, memory, keyboard, battery life What's not so great: no bluetooth, smallish hard drive
"I was looking at a clearance Dell XPS 1330 and a Macbook when I bought the Sony. I got it on clearance for 599.99, which I thought was a considerable savings over the Dell and Apple while sacrificing few features. The sony is a sleak piece of work that runs quietly. It was all set up and working within one-half hour. Programs installed without problems. The display is very bright and clear under all conditions. Great to set on a desk and to take with you somewhere -- a good balance. I highly recommend it!"

What's great about it: Really easy to use. Fast. Not too much "junk" like other laptops. What's not so great: Vista. No bluetooth.
"I have had two previous laptops, DELL and HP, and by far VAIO has been the best! Super fast; you just turn it on and in seconds you're ready to go! Yes, the speakers are not great, but they're not as much of a problem as others make it seem. The color is pretty cool. It does not overheat. The battery life is decent(3-3.5 hrs depends on what mode you have it on) and the price is great. Get a VAIO!!"

What's great about it: It's a VAIO! Ease of use. Lightweight. Appealing. What's not so great: Speakers. Vista.
"The price for this model and specs. is unbeatable. I gave it 4 stars because the speaker is just awful. Cracks, squeaks as if I have music on full blast. And even when I do, the overall volume is pretty low and muted. I've read in forums that the speakers are a problem with this model. Otherwise, a very sweet computer. The color is pretty nice too."

"I have done my homework on this laptop and several others. But for the price and sony quality, this is the best deal out there. I've had dell laptops and pc's all my life and this is my first sony. I couldn't be any more satisfied. The speakers could be a little better but I mainly use headphones or my sound system in my room. There is also a webcam which is very convenient. If you are a college student like me and are looking for a great deal and a reliable computer with a stylish look, this is the laptop for you. The battery life is even decent too (3 to 3.5 hours). This is a very light laptop as well, making it easy for me to carry around campus. Once you go Sony, all others seem phony!"

"I've been using this for 2 weeks, its good and fast though it has only 160gb its ok coz i dont store that much applications. I just got a lil bit disappointed coz the price changed the day i was about to buy it;>. It has no bluetooth ! i forgot to look for that feature ;> but its ok anyways you could always purchase one. The speakers for me is good coz i only play soft music, the keyboards is light to touch. It has long battery life too it can last up to 4 hours or more but it depends on how you use it. The color is cool it matches everything except for the aluminum part but its ok and it adds style. Overall im satisfied wth the product."

"Well the regreted review, thats me. I felt remorseful, about what I wrote ealier. I have this computer for two weeks and for what I paid, there is no way I can land a better pc. Its fast, easy to setup, plus hey, its a viao. Apart from the speakers, the computer does not over heat, the wireless coneection took time but works great. Vista is great if you have the memory to back it up with, which this piece has and some more. I have used my other email to write this because, I felt I needed to be fair to Sony and potential buyers. I perhaps had buyers remorse the first two days but the keyboard is actually way better to use, soft to the touch. The speakers still suck though. That is a choice a buyer will have to weigh, other than that, this is a perfect piece!"

What's great about it: decent speed What's not so great: Lame keyboard, shameful speakers, too shiny, not that slim
"I bought this merely because of the Sony name and hence I got what I deserved. Should have done my homework right. It has a good speed yes, but when I open two windows, the other gets fuzzy, the speakers are like the ones in kids' toys, it sqeaks and and has no volume. shoulda gotten an HP again. I have this for two days and am so unhappy. The keyboard has no depth and all the keys are so wide apart! The bottom is bigger than the screen making the laptop look bigger than it really should be"
