What's great about it: Almost Everything
"This Washer is great, it is very easy to use, my clothes come out really clean. My wife and I were kinda nervous about switching to the HE detergent but it even cleans better than what we were using. The only downside is unless you do speedy wash, then every other cycle is about an hour."

What's great about it: Cleans thoroughly and dryer is gentle on clothes
What's not so great: Long washing time
"I have had the set for just over one year now and I am extremely happy. My clothes are actually clean now. I really love the dryer. Clothes are gently tumbled and do not come out in a ball. Even king size sheets come out evenly dry and not twisted."

Don't buy LG

What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: LG Front Load Washer are junk, poor customer service, incompetent technical support
"LG front load washer (model no. WM2277HW) purchased on 8-29-2004. I have had an authorized service agent working with LG technical support to fix this washing machine due to an error code (LE) during wash cycle. After two months and over 300 of parts and labor the service agent determined that the 5 year old washer was irreparable.
I have contacted LG customer service numerous times with no help to resolve this issue. The first customer service representative I spoke with (12-9-2009) informed me that if the service agent would call technical support and tell them that the washer was irreparable they would start this replacement process. This was done. When I contacted LG the following day (12-10-2009) a different customer service representative informed me that there was nothing he could do and transferred me to a supervisor (Delano).
The supervisor informed me that the washer was not irreparable just because their "authorized" repair service could not fix it. The only solution that the supervisor offered was to find another repair center in my area and get the information to LG so that they could authorize them to fix the washer. I spent the next two hours calling service repair centers in my area (5) and non-local repair centers (2). All seven of the service repair centers refused to work on the washer stating that they could not fix the problem.
I called LG to speak with the supervisor again; however, the third customer service representative that answered the phone would not allow me to speak with the supervisor. He did however suggest that they had an LG technician in my area that for an additional 75 charge could come out and diagnose the problem. When I reminded him that I have had an authorized service agent and LG technical support working on my washer for two months and the problem has already been diagnosed, at the cost of over 300 he very rudely said that there was nothing else he could do for me.
This washing machine is approximately 5 years old. There is no power to the unit. The main control board was replaced by the service agent with direction given from LG technical support on one of his earlier visits, but no longer works. The gears are stripped in the motor. The bearing on the rear drum is seized up and the drum will not spin.
The washing machine is no longer under warranty; however, all of the parts with exception of the control board are still covered under the seven year parts warranty. To replace the control board, the gears, the rotor, the stator, and the rear drum assembly, plus the cost of labor will cost more than a new washer not counting the 300 I’ve already spent to replace the control board which is now defective.
The LG customer service representatives have been very rude and unwilling to offer any other solution than for me to give them more money for a washing machine that is obviously of poor quality and not worth the cost of the repairs. I will never buy another LG product due to the unprofessional, discourteous customer service staff, incompetent technical support staff that took approximately two months (5 service visits) to diagnosis the initial problem, and the overall quality and durability of the washing machine.

What's great about it: This washer handles huge loads and the steaming process is the best I've seen(had a whirlpool duet before).
What's not so great: I had to clean out and update my laundry room, because everything looked outdated next to these pieces of art!
"After I read the instructions, I found them very easy to operate. I am especially happy with the steam feature. Our clothes are whiter, cleaner and brithter in the LG's. I use the "steam option" with as many loads as I can; as for the "steam cycle", it does take about 2hrs, but it's worth it(only used this cycle twice).
I tried the steam dryer on some casino clothes(not dirty, but smoky), they came out great in 13 minutes and not a trace of smoke on them! I dry larger loads and faster then ever before.
I have had them for one month.
I LOVE MY LG'S!"

"I hiave had my new washer & dryer for 3 months now and I absolutely love them. The clothes come out so much cleaner/fresher and the steam features are wonderful. My husband's shirt come out great from the dryer. I have already saved on detergents and the water bill actually went down from the previous time. The cycles do run a little longer, but not a big deal. I love the little tune it plays at the end of the cycles. I look forward to doing the laundry now. The steam refresh option on the dryer is great for freshning up toss pillows to get out dust as well. Just love it."

"Lot of pressure on me when I bought this set. My wife left it all up to me. I did ALL the research and comparisons. Brought this set home and it's been a fantastic experience. We love the way it cleans, we love the controls and lcd screen. We even love the little jingle it plays when the clothes are done. Great quality. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for."

What's great about it: This is far the Best Product out there
What's not so great: Price of units are expensive
"I just want people to know that i have done over 100 loads in the first month with perfection cleaning and drying..
I researched and researched washers and dryers, and this one was rated tops - and truely is! Our W/D area is centrally located in the house, and all the noise from our previous W/D made me feel like I was in the middle of a construction zone. This is SO much nicer! You barely hear it. It does a phenomenal job cleaning clothes - although we've only had it for 3 weeks and I haven't tried out all the features - even the basic settings do a great job. Washing cycle does take longer, but we were always waiting for the dryer to get finished anyway (the matching dryer does take LESS time than the "conventional" dryers, tho!). Much gentler on clothes, too - the old ones (which were really only about 4 years old) were murder on my clothes. I didn't like the price tag, but I think I can stomach it now!""

What's not so great: cloths comes out wrinkled on every cycle
"The washer and dryer look great but.....they do a very bad job with your cloths. I do have to agree they look like they come out cleaner. The wrinkles on the cloths onced they have spinned the water out are so bad & also the cloths come out twisted and wrapped around each other. This is ok with my husbands farm cloths but It runied many of my dress cloths but we took it back within the 60 days return & best buy refunded all but the delivery charges. So we are happy with Best Buy. No more LG's for us. They dryer was just as bad on wrinkles!"

"We purchased theLG washer and dryer for our second home and neither unit has impressed us. We have a Bosch set in our primary residence. The Bosch pair are quieter, the clothes come out cleaner, and the build quality is much better."

What's great about it: SO quiet, much less h2o usage, great product!
