My Marantz which I loved died. The first time I turned this on with a movie, the center channel speech was much better. Overall better sound. Less noise at low volumes. Radio reception much better in my fringe area. Got an "end of season," sale price $999. I did have to call a Tech guy to help with the Learning Mode to get my TV to work off the remote If you can find it, buy it.
What's great about it: Sounds great, even low volume
What's not so great: Remote codes for my tv had to be put in "Learning Mode"

So far try Pioneers Elite would shut of due to using 4ohms cerwin vegas speaker Re series try Harmon Kardon no power, So figure I try the Yamaha it is one of the best sounding receivers I have heard had a old Rotel Receiver that when out on me, It was also a very goood receiver, never tought I would find anything that sounded as good or push the out the power that old Rotel did and I was wrong, This receiver push alot of power to those Cerwin VegaS and Stay sounding clear while doing so, and also have HD Radio which a lot of receivers don't seem to be built very well look like it will last a few years with no problems.
What's great about it: 130w/ch 8ohm 260w/ch 4ohms most receivers you can't use 4ohm speakers
What's not so great: None so far

I love good sound to go with a great looking TV it really is the only way to take advantage of blu ray. So for Christmas I decided to splurge. This receiver didn't disappoint plenty of hdmi's - 4 which is what i use the receiver for. turned it on when my klipsch speakers came in (reference series). Man I underestimated how good the sound is. Very loud but also you get the true experience of you being at the movie theaters. I play gears of war 2 on it and finished the game all I have to say is wow. If you want listen the dark knight buy a receiver if you want to experience it buy this receiver.
What's great about it: great overall package
What's not so great: Nothing so far

I've owned this product for a month now and have Great Success with Yamaha. This Receiver has 4 HDMI inputs 1 output. This Receiver is Powerful and easy to hook up. The only Problem I had after Setting up was my Subwoofer was not loud enough. This was easily fixed with the Onscreen Menu Button. I've got it Hooked up to a Velodyne 15 inch subwoofer, 2 Adcom Amps, Panasonic Bluray, Yamaha DVD Changer, Directv HD Receiver and 7 JBL Speakers. The Yamaha Receiver is the Brains to my system. Last Receiver That YOU Will Own, Trust ME. Best for the Price. Beats All Other Brands Out THERE.
What's great about it: Easy to set up with supplied microphone.
What's not so great: Nothing so far.
