I play a dreadnaught acoustic guitar. Like most dreadnaughts, it has very good lows and mid-range, but lets off a liitle bit of the highs. I play fingerstyle (with out a pick) most of the time and that is when the highs are really lacking. But when I am using a flatpick the guitar is very even sounding. I tried a set of these Earthwood strings and was not too impressed at first, but after a hour of play time, the sound of the strings improved. I like them because they have good highs and are pretty even sounding even without a pick. They are responsive also. I was expecting something overly bright and metallic sounding but I was very surprised by the fullness and the volume is comparable to more expensive strings. At $5.00 a set. They will brighten your guitar just enough to tell the differance. I recommend at least trying a set for a week.
I don't typically play Acoustic Gitah, but the time I did have to change out my strings these Ernie Ball Earthwood Lights did the trick pretty good. Clean sound, really easy to stretch and bend on. Guess all in all a good set of acoustic strings.. Only acoustic strings I have ever ran so I can't compare them to anything else. Then again I do like them so if any of the mattered that was said above meant anything to you, then give them a shot. Just my honest opinion..
