What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: nothing

"my favorite game for shooters. great graphics and game play. i love modern weapons. i like this the best out of all cod games. even number 5. all the others are old ww2 weapons. this has a couple older weapons but new ones as well. i love my m16 or m4 carb. i wish you could unlock things playing single player and not have to rank up. kinda makes it fear for everyone then. like socom for playstation. be nice as you beat it you unlock upgrades and weapons and stuff and harder levels. and as you beat each level you unlock even more. bad side is you then have to beat it. but at least you dont have to rank up and start out with nothing. also be nice that if someone in that room has the upgrades already then you could use too. just seems like you are giving an advantage to someone who is already playing and getting good or even is good. should be more fare for everyone. but that is me.

other then that i love this game the best again."

What's great about it: Graphic quality

"the graphics quality on this game is top notch. The single player is engaging but short. (Easily beatable in 5 hours) The multiplayer game play also generates great graphics without causing any sort of lag or performance degradation. One of the best first person shooter's made."

What's great about it: images and movement in gameplay are outstanding
What's not so great: price still hasn't gone down.

"i have several shooter games and this is by far my #1game i play now. best part is you don't need a $300.00 grafics card to play it, but if you do, WOW! i have the ati 4870 but most $150 dollar cards should play this game just fine. online multi player is insanely fun.single player is a bit scripted and short, but i like multi play best anyway."

"this is a game iv been wanting for a long while and i was surprised by the single player being so good, thinking the game was mainly multiplayer but boy was i wrong major replay value and the multiplayer leaves you wanting more giving you plenty of excitement and the achievements and unlockables add onto gameplay a deffenant must buy for any FPS fans"

What's not so great: Length of Game, Inability to play online

"Let's see, what were all the provisions I made with my computer to play the latest, greatest war game? Well, for starters, I bought a new computer tower, and then spent $130 for the game AND an upgraded video card to play it. I'm on the fence, because the game itself (the limited amount there was), was good, fantastic, and the best I've ever seen come out of a war game. I beat the single player mission in 5 days, playing no more than 2 hours a day on Regular difficulty, and trust me, I don't have a lot of time on my hands.

I finished that with hopes of battling online. Not so. I downloaded all patches, restarted the computer countless times and basically got screwed because it won't play online even with all the modifications I have made. The game needed to be longer, and there's no way I would ever recommend the game if you couldn't get it to play online on your computer. Trust me, if you're going to bend over backwards to make provisions to play this game, don't bother. Save your money for a top notch game and play this average one after you've got top of the line goods and your games play online. I guess I'll go back to Battlefield 2142; at least I can play that online."

What's great about it: Relatively low system req., Great graphics, FUN, away from ww2 shooters, unique, RANK, TONS OF GUNS, lots of servers
What's not so great: a medium length Single Player is all.

"There are maybe 3 "Moder Shooters" that are commonly played out there. Call of duty 4, Battlefield 2 (and expansions), and Counter Strike (as well as its source counterpart and mods). This is the best out of them, graphics wise, gameplay wise, fun wise, replayability wise, SINGLEPLAYER wise. Graphics are great if you have the graphics card, but dont worry. Before i upgraded i could run this on my ATI radeon x1050 (like 30$ card). Singleplayer is so much fun, the missions are hard, intense, and will keep you going, and when its over youll be BEGGING for more! (i really hope they have an expansion). This game is one of my top 3. Buy it, you wont be dissapointed at all."

What's great about it: Scalability, multiplayer, finally out of the WWII rut
What's not so great: I wish that you could level up in single player, not only multiplayer

"Call of Duty 4 does not pick up where COD 1, 2 and 3 left off. It is a complete departure from the WWII era and thankfully so!
From the opening briefing to the final, slow-motion sequence on the bridge as it's about to blow, COD4 is about as good of a single-player game as you're gonna get. Sure, it's scripted, but it seems less so than in previous versions. You also have many ways to end a mission, for example, you can go up into the tower and Snipe or you can go around and use an automatic weapon. It's up to you.
For multiplayer - it's a total blast! You start as a Level 1 Private and battle your way up to a Level 55 five-star General. All along the way, you complete challenges and acquire better weapons and better weapon options. Plus, unlike other versions, there are classes, i.e. Sniper, Demolitions, Assault, etc. Or, better yet, create your own. You like that G3 with the Noob toob launcher, go for it!
Get COD4, it rocks!"
