What's great about it: super easy to use, easy to load, sounds great, nice features, especially for the price.
What's not so great: No down sides as far I'm concerned. so far)
"Simply put, anyone who knows quality electronics knows that Sony means quality and fine sound. I did add a new pair of Sony ear buds. All in all, I am very happy with this item. Great price and great features. Sound is terrific. I couldnt be more pleased ! Better sound than my daughter's I pod."

Beware Rhapsody To Go users

What's great about it: Sound
What's not so great: NOT RHAPSODY TO GO COMPATIBLE
"I purchased this for use with my "Rhapsody To Go" subscription. It is advertised as being "Rhapsody" compatible. I contacted Rhapsody when I was only able to transfer some songs. They informed me the player is "Rhapsody" compatible but not "Rhapsody To Go" subscription compatible."

Amazing MP3 Player

What's great about it: Has many features that make sense
What's not so great: Does not have the ability to change certain settings
"Its an amazing device to have does everything you would ever need it to do yet it does not have a very simple feature that you see on every other device out there, The ability to change how long the bg light stays on until it shuts of from inactivity yet other then that I have had no problems from it, and it comes with 3 songs 2 videos and about 12 pictures as a sample as well as a free 2 week subscription to Napster if you want it (although I am not going to use it since I own all of my music) great device and much cheaper then the nano with more then twice the battery life makes it even better"

What's great about it: Incredibly easy to use. Includes necessary software to run on various platforms.
"The battery life is great. The user can set the equalizer to their preference. Software is included that allows the user to interact with iTunes. The iTunes utility is easier to use than the Windows Real Media Player. Drop and drag feature from iTunes to the Sony Walkman utility is very simple. The sound is very good for this MP3 player. Video also looks nice. If you are simply looking for an outstanding MP3 player and music playback is your primary concern...I would recommend this player over any of the iPods, Zune, or Samsung MP3 players."

What's great about it: Excellent sound quality
What's not so great: Has to "create library" frequently
"As this is my first flash based MP3 player, I'm not sure if it's common or not but every time I either turn it off or don't use it for a while it has to "create library" While it is doing this the player can't be used. This only takes about 10 seconds (or less) so it's not a huge issue. I also wish that you were able to create playlists on the fly. Other than that it's a great player that doesn't tie you down to any software. You can either use Windows Media player, the included software (transfers songs via drag and drop) or a combination of itunes and the included software. Overall, it is a great MP3 player, especially for the price."

"This is a very nice mp3. It has videos pictures, and even some sound features. This mp3 is complete with a usb cord and has a bright screen full of color. the video is relativly clear and the pictures look great. I would buy this mp3 if you want ecceptional video quality and clear pictures, not to mention good sounding music"

"No software required, plug into any computer, drag and drop music into music folder (just like a memory stick). If you want to use software to manage music, just open windows media player. Easy menu to navigate. Has a nice shuffle feature. Battery life exceeds expectations. The sound has very good quality. I can’t say anything about the video or picture features, I only bought it for the music."

What's great about it: Simple to use, built-in FM radio, much lower price than comparable iPOD models.
"After much research, I chose this model for my wife's birthday gift. Great choice! It's so incredibly easy to use. She's not "computer friendly" but was able to D/L's music within minutes of taking it out of the package.
Not mentioned here in the specs: This model has a built-in FM radio. That'll cost you about $45 extra if you get an iPod! We are astounded by how well it receives! And the battery seems to last forever.
The only downside is finding compatible accessories. We already have it in a speaker case but wish to get a docking station with high quality speakers (Bose, etc). All of these seem to be made exclusively for iPods........"

What's not so great: battery life good but not as advertised, iTunes syncing simplicity not available
"Believe me, I'm an Apple fanboy. iMac, iPhone, 80gb iPod, I got 'em all. But, if you want top notch sound quality, and a nice durable feel, you cannot beat the Sony Walkman. It's amazing these things don't outsell Nano's, because they are just flat-out 100 times a better product. You're going to find the same features on this product that are available on the Nano. The only real downfall for me is syncing. It is not as simple as iTunes, but once you get the process down with windows media player, it is no big deal. Also, if you use the display for any reason whatsoever, you will not get the advertised battery life. It's still longer than the Nano, though."

Sony Moves To FM On The Little Guy

What's great about it: Lightweight, Uncomplicated, FM Radio, Sexy Looking
What's not so great: Not many accessories as yet
"I have a Zune 80gb also but I needed something smaller that doesn't weigh down my arm after 8 hours at work constantly moving. I needed FM also because there are some shows I like to listen to. The Zune does that but is heavy after an 8 hour day. The Ipod doesn't do that although it is smaller so I looked around for a manufacturer I could trust and I usually go for Sony because I can rely on it. The two previous versions of the Walkman don't have FM in this price range either. This looks sexy, functions well and is EXCELLENT value for under $90. The product says it hold up to 1000 songs but so far i have more than that even at 128kbs and have 1gb still left to go. Works seamlessly with WMP11 and uploads the fastest I have ever seen.
It's perfect!!"

What's great about it: Video, photo, radio, mp3's, and most importantly to me Rhapsody
What's not so great: index doesn't work
"This player works great so far accept for one thing. The index (organize song by first letter of title, artist or album) doesn't work. Example: display says it should list songs I-L but the first song starts with a P. I have contacted Sony and they sent a reply that didn't help at all."
