The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because it still charges my ipod. I got this for Christmas of last year and the cd player fades in and out, as does the ipod. The clock can not be set. When pressing the clock button on the back of the unit, it wants to constantly set alarm A. Clock does not or has it ever set itself correctly even after trying multiple time zones. Sound quality is terrible for a Sony. The speakers arent really that small yet ive heard smaller speakers sound so much better! I seriously expected better, especially for $100. Don't buy this garbage.
What's great about it: It charges ipod/iphone convenienty
What's not so great: Everything else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bright LCD, does all features well: play radio, play Ipod, play Cd plus alarms but unable to take AM radio stations well no matter how I fix the antenna
What's great about it: Multiple features
What's not so great: Poor or no AM transmitter stations

I love this thing! It takes up next to no space on my kitchen counter and produces great sound. The controls are really easy, and the clock sets itself! A number of my friends have seen it and they think it's the coolest thing ever. I love the fact that it has an ipod dock that pops out the side. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I haven't regretted for one second that I bought it. Thumbs up!
What's great about it: Small size, great sound.
What's not so great: A bit pricey.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's more than a clock/radio

I know saying everything can be cliche but this little clock radio IS! It has a great, adjustable backlight/display. It does both AM/FM/CD and Ipod! It has 2 alarms and you can see the screen/display in the brightest of rooms (trust me, here in the desert of Arizona, when the sun shines through a bedroom window, it really shines) and we can still see the display. Yeah, this is the most expensive clock/radio/multi-purpose type I've ever purchase but it was well worth it, it's that good! And it's so good, I bought 2 of them, one for me, one for my lovely wife. She loves her's too!
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: nothing so far
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product is perfect for my needs as I needed an alarm clock/radio/cd player for my bedside table.
The good:
The compact size is fantastic!
The price for what you get is awesome!
The alarm is programmable and can be set to only go off on weekdays.
The CD player has various repeat modes so I can have it repeat once or repeat all night.
The iphone/ipod dock is icing on the cake. I love the slide-out dock.
The sound is very good for a clock/radio/cd player! The sound is adequate for my needs. This is not a stereo system - it is a clock/radio/cd player so do not expect Bose sound quality.
The price for what you get is awesome!

I got this for my 8 year old who has an ipod and Cd's. For her needs it's great becasue it's easy to use. For me I would have liked the soudn to be a little better.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: The sound is a little muffled

I really wanted to like this. It has lots of features, but thte inability to make the alarm louder really forced me to give up on it.
The tuner in the radio leaves alot to be desired, also. THe fact it would allow me to play CDs or dock my ipod waqs a great attraction, however, it just didn't lvie up to expectations. This unit is going back, and I will resort to my 26-year-old GE Alarm clock for now...
What's great about it: Lots of potential features to like...
What's not so great: Buzzer alarm is not loud enough
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're looking for a clock/radio/CD/IPod combination this is the best purchase for the money. I did not have time to figure out what headphones work with this product, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. It is small enough that it does not take a lot of room on my desk and the battery back-up makes it nice for power outages. All in all I'm extremely happy with the purchase and I bought a 2nd one for home.
What's great about it: Small and compact, yet has a great sound
What's not so great: I don't like the antenna - wish it were built-in
I would recommend this to a friend!

The clock is good for what it is. Great sound, nice display, uses minimal space. Nice features for a little gadget. Easy to travel with. I just think there should be a latch to lock in the CD since it is basically the clock display and can open too easily.
What's great about it: iPhone dock, easy to use buttons, large LED display
What's not so great: CD player is only springloaded, not latched so it can fall easily especially around kids.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was at Best Buy and was reading reviews on my iPhone. I liked this model, as it was the cheapest and smallest. I read the review where someone said that it was too bright on it's lowest setting and pondered for a few minutes whether I should get it or not. It wouldn't bother me, but would drive my wife crazy. I decided to go ahead and get it. I'm SO glad I did. The reviewer who said it was too bright must be overly sensitive to light. On the lowest dim setting I can barely read the numbers.
I can fall to sleep to rain with Ambiance app and wake up to my music. Love it!
What's great about it: Sound quality, easy setup, nice snooze button
What's not so great: haven't found anything bad yet
I would recommend this to a friend!

We are currently using the clock in our living room and use the unit as both a time piece and home stereo. The clock face is easy to read from a distance, the sound quality is good, it's easy to use, and it's self setting which is a huge plus. We love it and think it was a great deal.
What's great about it: easy to read display, good sound quaility
What's not so great: haven't found any negatives yet

At $99, this unit isn't cheap, but after going back and forth over Best Buy's assortment of clock radios for about an hour, this one stood out as the coolest looking, and the fact that it works with iPOD's, CD's, other MP3 players, and has an AM/FM radio, seemed to justify the stiff price. It also sets its time automatically, but figuring out how to change the time zone turned out to be a royal pain. There's something not quite right in the directions, but I got it figured out. Sound is decent, but what ruined it was that even at the dimmest setting, having this alarm clock in the room is like something out of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I thought it was great to have a taller clock so I could see the time in the middle of the night. The only way you can have this clock facing you is if you wear sunglasses to bed, better yet, a blowtorch shield. I'm taking it back.
What's great about it: Looks great, sound is decent
What's not so great: Way too bright at lowest setting, Hard to set time zone
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really like the design of this product, for example, how the iPod dock pops out, but it is better in theory than application. It is very difficult to position the iPod into the dock and the platform is not sturdy, so the clock is always sliding around on my nightstand. There are also too many buttons which makes it confusing at first. The sound is good for its purpose. The cd player is neatly hidden and the remote control is a nice touch. All in all I like it, but I do think it is overpriced. I am keeping it, but I am not sure I would buy it again.
What's great about it: Cool design, many features, nice sound
What's not so great: Too many buttons, ipod docking is difficult
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Do not buy for alarm clock because the alarm is not loud enough to hear much less wake one up.

I purchased this last night, based on the wealth of features and positive reviews before me. I was looking to replace an alarm clock with a display that was too bright for my bedroom. However, even on its dimmest setting this is the BRIGHTEST alarm clock I have ever purchased. It lit up the entire room. The reviews before me, and the display unit at Best Buy, led me to believe this was a dim unit, but it isn't. I'm going to have to return it right away.
In addition, there was something strange about the LCD display - every once in a while all the options on the display would light up at the same time, making it impossible to read the time. Some of the buttons seemed to have a delayed reaction too.
Will go back to purchase an iHome that dims all the way down to off instead.
What's great about it: Lots of intuitive features, automatic time and date setup
What's not so great: Even the dimmest setting causes the bedroom to glow
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really wanted a dual alarm clock that would let me dock my ipod touch 2g. This works great! The clock sets itself - WAHOO! The alarms seem pretty easy to set. I really like having the remote control. The remote is a little smaller than a credit card. One new feature for me is the dimmer control for the display. My husband really appreciates not being blinded by my clock in the middle of the night. Even the dimmest setting is pleasant and doesn't make you squint to actually see it.
Batteries were installed in both remote and the unit itself (backup). An extra battery was included also.
What's great about it: Self Setting Clock
What's not so great: nothing
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you are looking for a clock radio with a lot of features, a good display, pretty good sound, and easy to use, then you should pick this up. It is a little pricey, but you can't really get anything close to this for a lower price, atleast not at best buy. I love the slide out ipod dock!
What's great about it: Easy to setup, the display is great, sound is decent.
What's not so great: sound could be better, but it's a clock radio not a home stereo.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was very disappointed in the sound quality. I bought this based on Sony's reputation for excellent sound quality. Unfortunately this is not the case with product. Als,o the alarm buzzer is not very loud and the power cord cannot be disconnect from the unit. I had to return the product.
What's great about it: 5 Day Alarm
What's not so great: Sound quality, and alarm buzzer not loud enough
