What's great about it: The camera and video is amazing, & battery life What's not so great: MEDIA PLAYER!
"This phone is freakin amazing! The camera and video player is so clear! Battery Life I think is pretty good, it last about 2 and a half days. The only bad thing about this phone is the Media Player. It doesn't seem to read my MicroSD card. Even with-out the Media Player it is still an awesome phone. If you like to text a lot, it's pretty easy to text with T9Abc, but if you text non-stop I would recommend the Wild Card, I had that phone it is pretty good, but the Wild Card does not have a video player, good battery life, it scatches easily, and the camera isn't that good. Overall nice phone. I would recommend this phone to anyone as long as they don't text non-stop."

What's great about it: easy to set up easy to use, love the music love the video love the pics What's not so great: if you already have music on a memory card it's a little confusing
"this phone is great I have a VM slider phone w/ mp3 player video and pics already, and this is an upgrade for much less than when mine came out its awesome i love it so far!! nice sleek cute, the camera is better the video is better, its awesome. can upload pics directly now don't have to email / text them thank god
the one problem i have is when i took the memory card from one phone to the other it didn't work, i had to plug the other phone into my computer and realized that the shuttle actually added new folders and i had to tranfer the music from one folder to another. it doesn' come with the plug to plug this phone right into the computer so you must have the adapter for it to plug it in or ill just use the old phone for now."

What's great about it: mp3 player, fast 3G web, decent camera, brilliant battery life, screen resoltion, the price above all What's not so great: Limited amount of 3rd party softwares, touch sensitive buttons, ordinary desktop.
"I've been a Nokia fan for a long time. I still am. But even a moderate class Nokia can hardly beat the price of this phone. Nokia phones usually have a better operating system which allows a lot of 3rd party softwares like the Yahoo! Go. (I used it extensively). They still don't have the version for this. It comes with an email software that is really cool and efficient. The shuttle has a decent camera, a good mp3 and video player. Touch sensitive buttons are sometimes a little annoying, but a cool feature nonetheless. The desktop could've been a little better if it was customizable. All in all a good practical phone for all the calling and internet usage. Definitely recommended."

What's great about it: Looks slick. MP3 player, camera, 3G web browser, all in one. What's not so great: Internet is limited and sometimes buggy. Can't set MP3s as ringtones. No Flash.
"I got my girlfriend the virgin mobile wild card last Christmas so this year she was super cool and got me the shuttle! I had been using the flare for years and this is a really nice upgrade. You can store your MP3s and pictures on a microSD card, BUT BE WARNED. Anything above 1gig will cause your phone to freeze. I learned that the hard way when I got a 2gig memory card and had to take it back. Pictures look great if you have good lighting and MP3 quality is good. This is virgin mobile's first 3G phone and it is indeed speedy....when it works. Some days I'm able to browse ebay and check google news with no problems at all. And some days you get constant network errors and have to reload the page time after time. Bottom line is despite it's flaws it's still a great high end phone for the price."

What's great about it: Sleek, modern looking, no contract, good sound, decent video, 3G What's not so great: doesn't seem too sturdy, awful pictures
"I basically only need a cell phone for emergencies, so a no contract phone is perfect for me. My previous phone was the basic K9 model, but after the battery started to wear down, I decided to get a new phone. The Shuttle is a sleek looking phone, and it has nice features considering it's a Virgin Mobile phone, which are mainly cheap, basic phones for teenagers. The sound is surprisingly good from the speaker--very loud and clear. The video cam is limited to 13 frames/sec and only 30 seconds, but it's pretty good for a phone cam. The still picture quality is awful though. Blurry and pixelated pictures. I expected better from a 1.3 megapixel camera, even if it is only a phone cam.
I did have an initial problem with the phone locking up whenever I tried accessing My Pictures with a 2 gig microSD card in it. It turns out that the default my_pix folder was not properly created (it was a 0 byte file, not a folder). So (while it was plugged into my PC), I deleted that file and recreated the my_pix folder, and now my phone can access pics with the microSD card inserted without a problem.
The sound quality of phone calls is the same as my K9 was--okay (kind of warbly). But, it does get a stronger signal inside my apartment.
Overall, this is a very nice, entry level "fancy" mobile phone."

What's great about it: The nice, sleak look. big screen, video camera, touch pads. What's not so great: wears out fast.
"This phone is really nice if you drop it alot.Ive had it for about 3 months. I cant tell you how many times I've dropped this thing, and its still fine. I got this phone for my birthday, and I was ABOUT to get a wildcard. This phone is really cool. I ran into some problems, first of all, when you text, the touch key's are hard to get use too, and i ended up holding it too long and deleting all of my text. this doesnt happen anymore as you soon grow out of that habbit. The battery life display sometimes jumps around (goes from low to high). It also started to freeze during some of my calls and just using it, like if i wanted to rename a picture, It would lag, the screen would show a bunch of different screens flicker on and off fast, and it would freeze. All you have to do is take the battery out, but still, it's annoying.
The way the phone slides is very smooth and hasent worn out yet. The number buttons and every button over all is extremely nice and well spread apart, and they dont lock up. easy to press keys makes txting even faster.
Dissapointed apon buying a MicroSD card, putting music on it, and finding out that it doesnt work. Other memory cards work on the phone, and my memory card works on other phones, so this was a bummer and I dont know how to fix it.
Very nice phone, BEST from virgin mobile yet. If your parents/family refuses to sign a monthly payment (like mine), and you go with pre-payed, I recomend this phone 100%!"

What's great about it: Touch Keys, Design, Battery Life, 4GB Memory Card, Tools, Voice Command, Cheap What's not so great: Not being able to jump to songs and pics by pushing a letter or number and the camera.
"<PURCHASE INFO>The phone cost me $104.99 from Best Buy in Columbia Heights DC. The package includes the phone, the battery, the charger and the manual. Battery life is pretty good while riding on the train for an hour and a half. Although Virgin Mobile is on the Sprint network I don't get service in the train tunnels as I would with a Sprint phone. I haven't lost any calls as of yet. <DESIGN>The colors are black and red which is more of a burnt orange than red. The top and bottom of the slider is curved. The phone is light and fits in my hand. It measures 3.9 by 1.9 by 0.7 inches and weighs 3.4 ounces. I can easily open the slider with one hand. Although it didn't come with a case or holster, it fit in a small sized black leather case. <KEYS>The keys outside of the D pad are all touch keys which all work fine except the speaker phone key. I hate accidentally pushing the speakerphone key, coming from the i875 the speaker option should be incall only since you only use it during calls. I can never actually push the speakerphone key when I want it on, I just hit it randomly. On the i875 I had the option to customize the menu keys but on the Shuttle they're set to Virgin XL, Account Info, Send a Text Pic or Video message (not the Inbox), and Recent Calls. The "OK" key on the D pad accesses the menu. The "back" touch key is on the right side of the phone and it should be on the left since when you text you, you usually hit the back key with your left hand. The keypad is easy to use especially for texting and it has a blue backlit keyboard. You can do anything from the phone with the slider closed as long as you don't need to dial a number or text. Theres also a key lock that comes on automatically when the slider is closed. The screensaver comes on when the slider is open. <SIDE KEYS> The side keys are pretty good but I usually use the menu to access everything except the volume. Side keys include voice command, volume, media player and camera. The slots are for the charger, the 2.5mm headset (which didn't come with the phone) and the memory card (which also didn't come with the phone). When I put a 8GB Micro SD card in it gave me an error message. When I put in a 4GB it read it and formatted it instantly. I have 377 songs on my SD card and 1 video from my i875 (I save my pics to the phone). The voice command gives you several options and is easy to use. <MY STUFF>1. Ringtones. Includes texttones which I am able to use as a ring tone and costs 1.50 instead of the $2.50 for ringtones on the Virgin Mobile website). 2. My Music. Media Player 3. My videos. All the videos in the phone and on card. 4. My graphics. Wallpapers, Screensavers, and Pics. 5. My games. 3 demos Midnight Pool, Tetris, and Glu Combo Pack 6. My Themes 3 colors red, neutral and black 7. My Other Stuff. Mobile Email, IM (AOL and Yahoo). <MY ACCOUNT> Shows your cash balance (I received $2.50 for starting service and lost my $10 left on my Boost account after porting my number), minutes used, a description of your plan and your text and data plan options. <PICTURES AND VIDEO> 1. Take a picture. You have a self timer, 10 fun frames, Image Controls (white and color), and Settings (6 Resolutions, Quality and 3 Shutter Sounds). You also have the option to change the brightness, zoom and picture size. Theres no flash but the pics look ok. 2. Take a video. You can only record 30 seconds whether you're saving to the phone or card. All of the options are the same as taking a pic except there's no fun frames. 3. Send picture msg. You can only send 1 picture at a time to about 15 people. 4. Send video msg. You can only send 1 video at a time. 5. My pictures. In order to access pics you have to scroll down through all of them and they're shown 4 on a page. You can't jump to the name like on my i875. You can lock pictures but you can't hide them. I currently have 105 saved to my phone. Key note: if you put a picture on your memory card and it doesn't show up on your phone, it may be too large. Resize it to about 200x175. 6. My videos. I could use the videos from my i875 on my Shuttle just take everything off the memory card and store it on a computer before putting it in the Shuttle. 7. Help. <CONTACTS> 1. Find name. 2. Add new. You can have up to 500 entries. You can assign 5 numbers under one name, 2 emails, 2 IMs, Website URL, a pic, a ring tone, a text tone and assign to a group. Virgin Mobile also has Contact Vault which keeps your contacts online. 3. Groups. (Customizable) 4. Speed dial. 10 <VIRGIN XL> Although I didn't subscribe to Virgin XL you can download ringers, wallpapers, games and applications. I had a data cable for my i875 and used MyJal to upload all my own ringers and games for free. This is something I miss being able to do. <MESSAGING> 1. Send a text message. 2. Send pic msg. 3. Send video msg. 4. Send IM. This is included free in the unlimited messaging plan. 5. Send email msg. This is included free in the unlimited messaging plan. I have 3 Yahoo accounts saved and whenever I get new emails a screen pops up with the option to check my email. Then on the accounts page it shows which inbox has the new email. Other email accounts include AIM, AOL, Comcast, Earthlink, Juno, NetZero, and verizon.net. No Gmail, Hotmail or MSN. 6. Inbox. The inbox which includes all your messages not 10 per page like the i875. Messages are limited to 160 characters sending AND receiving with the signature. You cannot click on any links in the texts like on the i875. I view texts instantly (no downloading like on my i875). I send texts super fast. (no long wait like on my i875). 7. Virgin Alerts. Can only be read and not deleted. 8. Voicemail. 9. Sent. You can customize this to save not save. Phone saves picture and video mail no matter what so keep this in mind... 0. Saved. The phone asks you to delete messages once you reach about 100 and if you don't want to scroll the entire inbox then you should save a message you want when you get it to avoid deleting it later * Message settings. Tones, Reminder (alerts sounds if you don't read a text immediately), Text entry (T9, Abc, ABC, 123), Auto texts (Replies which you can customize), Save to sent, Signature (32 character limit), Groups which you can customize and Auto erase (it only says yes or no so I don't use it because I don't know how many messages it'll erase and when). # Erase Messages. Inbox, Saved, Sent or All. <TOOLS & SETTINGS> 1. Tools. Calendar, Alarm Clock, Tip Calculator, Calculator, World Clock, Stopwatch, Voice Commands and Voice Memo. 2. Display. Graphics (wallpapers, screensavers, clock format, and caller ID), Menu Style (images or list), Greeting banner (14 characters, 10 font and outline colors), Contrast, Backlight, and Themes. 3. Sounds. My ringtones (which are loud when set at max level volume), msg tones, service alerts (minute beep and call connect), Volume (ringer, voice call, speakerphone), Power Tone, Key Tone, Dial Sound, Slide Tone (phone makes a sound and vibrates gently when the slider is opened). 4. Call Options. Call reminder (alert sounds when you miss a call), Call Answer (how the slider answers a call), Auto Answer, Keyguard. 5. Security. Lock phone (when I first activated my phone I found out the code was the last 4 digits of my phone number), Change lock code, Special Numbers (3), Erase contacts, Erase downloads, Reset phone. 6. Msg Settings. (Scroll above to MESSAGING for more information.) 7. Game Settings. Volume and backlight. 8. Bluetooth. I couldn't find my laptop and I couldn't find my i875. I was able to send pictures to and from my laptop on my i875. I had to save my pictures to my memory card and then send them to my phone. You can play songs from a stereo bluetooth headset like the Motorola S9. 9. Memory. Save options (choose where to save your pictures and videos), Internal Memory (23.48 MB total, 16.87 MB left with about 100 pics), External Memory. 0. Others. Language, Airplane Mode, TTY Mode, Location, Touch Key settings (I noticed alot of people complain about the sensitivity of the keys but here you can change the sensitivity level as well as have the phone vibrate when a Touch Key is hit), Media player (not the actual player just the options to continue playing it once you get off a call or close the slider). *Phone Info. Phone number and version. <MEDIA PLAYER>1. My music. The media player loads instantly! There isn't a 5 minute loading wait like on my i875. You have the option to play all, go to your playlists and view all songs. I don't like how you use the media player because again you have to scroll through all the songs. You can't just enter a letter and jump to the songs that start with that letter like on my i875. This is a serious problem having 388 songs! Options include Shuffle, repeat all, repeat 1, normal and hide. Hide takes you to the main menu where you can text while listening to music but you can't play games while listening to music. You have the options to go to the previous or next song as well as rewind and fast forward. 2. My videos. 3. Settings. Repeat all, repeat 1, shuffle, auto off. I have the option to turn the volume up and down and mute it but it doesn't sound loud through a LG wired headset. It may be the cheap headset though so I'm not sure just how loud the sound could be. My i875 was loud. <SURF THE WEB> Again, I didn't subscribe to the web service but on the main screen there are a few options such as Yahoo, Email, Social Networking, Entertainment, Mobile mail, Sports, Traffic & Directions, News & Weather, Local & Nightlife, and Spanish language. It’s a fast 3G phone. You can also watch YouTube videos from your phone. Also has GPS apps like Buddy Beacon and Where.
The only 2 things I could wish for on the phone, aside from what Im missing from the i875, are a Qwerty Keyboard and an Actual Touchscreen. But for $100 with prepaid service and unlimited calling and texting I can't complain."

"The virginmobile shuttle is best phone I've ever had. The features on it are great. I love this phone. But, the battery life on it could have been a little better. The battery would only last for for one day, and then needs charging again. But other than that the shuttle is a great phone"
