Purchased these for a noisy work environment. The sound quality is really good. The volume could be louder but certainly not a deal breaker.
What's great about it: Sound is quite good
What's not so great: Volume is a little low

For 65.99 I was skeptical on how decent these speakers were going to sound. However when I brough them home I was pretty amazed what kind of sound these pump out especially for the price!! The bass is a little lacking not extremely accurate but the mids and highs....DEAD ON!!! sounds great..esp having a speaker and bass port in the rear REALLY makes the sound sound so different from other speakers, These are probably the closest you can get to bose sound without spending over 100 bucks. Being that they are usb powered I was afraid of them not being loud at all. They pretty decently loud, to fill a smaller room with sound at least. Remote works well, doesnt need to be directly pointed at the speaker to work. They sound pretty realistic on most instruents for the most part..they certainly dont sound like they were 65 dollars. Overall VERY IMPRESSED...I highly recommend these speakers.
What's great about it: Great crisp sound, modern sleek look, well built, cool little remote.
What's not so great: other setup options

When seeking out any good speaker system, the first thing that's important is what it will be used for. These speakers make an excellent at-home personal use sound system. These are compact little towers that actually look pretty good on a desk, on either side of a monitor. The setup was nothing more than plug and play. The downside, as with any speaker system without a sub, is the conflict of audio layering. With the bass part coming through mixed in with the sounds of either speaker, (without a speaker solely dedicated to bass), it tends to end up muffling some noises as if you were to turn on gain on an amp. However, the bass damage is minimal and the speakers are genuinely good, as are almost all products by Logitech. This is a good speaker to enjoy by yourself in the comfort of your room or something, not necessarily a good speaker for entertaining guests.
What's great about it: Good Personal Sound - Simple Setup
What's not so great: Audio Layering - Some Sounds Partially Burried

- weight... it seems these speakers were designed for laptops, but combined, weigh nearly as much as a laptop.
- if made for a laptop, it's pretty bulky to carry around
- USB... I bought them as a temp. replacement for a 5.1 system... but I also like using the speakers as a stereo... since it's powered thru the USB, I have a computer on to have them work.

I own quite a few Bose products. I wanted speakers for my laptop that would mirror the same sound quality but Bose doesn't sell portable usb speakers. The Z5 are definitely to be compared. Oustanding SURROUND SOUND and BASS quality. The are a llittle heavy but I but once in my backpack I can transport with no issues. I do wish that they came with a carry case of sleeve of some sort.
What's great about it: Outstanding Sound
What's not so great: Size

Overall it does fill the room. But for the price it should have a more stronger low response. Treble is nice though. If you have the room in your bag, it's worth having over the stock speakers anyday. Movies sound pretty good.

This pair of Logitech speakers are even better than the previous Logitech AudioHub speakers I own. The AudioHub had three USB ports to make up for the one they used up, but they needed a power adapter to power these ports correctly. Now with the Z-5, there is no need for the power adapter plus I get a remote control. I only wish there was a carrying case to make these more portable. Other than that I love them. Extremely clear ad powerful music.
What's great about it: Remote Control +++, No power adapter needed, Completely USB-powered, Clear sound that fills the entire room
What's not so great: No carrying case minimizing portability
I would recommend this to a friend!
