"I've had my PS3 for a year. This is console is the best game console I have ever had. The graphics are awesome on games. The blu ray player is the best you can buy. The way I looked at when I bought it was this. I paying 200 dollars for a game console and paying 200 for a blu ray player. Many of a friends took their stand alone blu ray players back to purchase a ps3. I can't blame them. If your looking for the best blu ray and a game console you can't go wrong with the playstation 3."

What's great about it: the blue-ray player,
What's not so great: scratches easily, playstation network is bad, the sony servers crash constintly and there are only a few exclusive games

"this console isnt the best out of the three like Xbox 360, and the nintendo Wii but if you are looking for a system that has a blue-ray/dvd/cd drive for the family this would be the best choice if you are looking for a gaming console the Xbox 360 would be the best choice the xbox has an ideal online service which has netflix and you could buy and rent movies,tv shows and music videos. the only thing the ps3 has the xbox dosent have is a blue-player. blue-ray is the future on high-def movies."

"This is the best system i have ever owned the only bad thing is if your tv is 1080i instead of 1080p it bumps your resolution down to 720i it still looks good but not like 1080 but other than that it is everything internet blu ray a must have for any grown child!!!!"

What's great about it: Mainly purchased as a bluray player. It is amazingly fast.
What's not so great: PS Network rediculously is slow compared to Xbox live

"Bought it specifically to be a bluray player. read many reviews, even one on cnnmoney, stated that it was better than its more expensive competitors. My father has one of the above said players and it takes his much longer to load the disc than the PS3 does. He also had a month where he could not play the new releases because his player had not released the update for the coding where as the PS3 is always on top of it. I have a couple games for it (use my 360 for gaming more) and they run great as well. Only complaint is that when I need to download something, be it a patch or content for a game, it is slow. The PS Network is extremely slow when compared to Xbox live. I guess that it may have something to do with the fact that its free whereas I pay 50 bucks a year for my gold live membership."

What's great about it: Easy to Set up
What's not so great: Expensive, fingerprint magnet

"Well I've owned since the first week of October of 2008. It's awesome, excellent graphics & sound. So far no problems yet. Well the movies that i watch on it is perfect. the xbox 360 as some people were saying it's better, but it's not. That console is not even worth your money & time. The PS3 is the better choice in my opinion."

What's great about it: The blu-ray disc feature is great
What's not so great: The online play for gaming is not very good or advance, xbox live is far more advanced and enjoyable than the ps3

"The ps3 is a nice bluray player and thats about it, it's a over priced gaming system that all you are buying is a bluray player, if you want a bluray player that does a little bit more then buy this system, is you were to buy this system for gaming purposes, online, co-op, single player, you would be making a huge mistake, not many gaming features and if there is a feature you think is good on this system, chances are that xbox already has it and it's ten times better, this is not a good gaming system but a good bluray player, so my reccomendation is that is you want to watch HD movies, then buy the ps3, but if you want to play online games and use this system for a gaming console then i would not buy it and go buy a xbox 360"

"I dont have this system myself but my friend does and i play his probably more than he does. I have an Xbox 360 and ofcourse i have to compare the two systems.The conclusion I have come to is that yes while the PS3 does have blue-ray and good graphics, I think that good graphics doesnt really meen much with out good game titles, now the Xbox on the other hand has Halo 3, Gears of War 1 and 2, Fable 2, and many more titles. Also Square Enix (creators of Kingdoms Hearts, the Final Fantasy franchise, and several other RPGs) has started to make there games exclusivly for the 360. So what i have come to find is that the PS3 is more suited to be for home theater purposes rather than for hard core gamers. Me personaly, i prefer the 360 because of the game titles for it, and besides the PS3 takes a pretty penny out of your pocket. My recommendation would be that if you watch movies and listen to music more than you game than the PS3 is for you, but if you're a hard core gamer than the 360 is the way to go."

What's great about it: Pretty easy to setup, graphics great, blu-ray video player
What's not so great: Nice looking design but I do not care for the curve top. Size could be smailler.

"The system was easy to setup. The graphics are nice on it, wireless internet was easy to set up and connect. Wireless controller is nice. I would highly recommend this system over the competition.

It would be nice if they could include a wireless keyboard and a remote for the system instead of making it an additional purchase.

Now, all I need to do is buy a new 70-inch flat panel Sony 1080p TV to watch movies and play games on it."

"i just got my new ps3 and i gotta say its the best of em all. i love it and i cant stop playing it. it may have been alot of money but its worth it, it has some of the best graphics ever! i loveee the blue ray and how you can go on the internet it is all so awome no to mention the great games it has like, fallout 3, devil may cry 4, assasin's ceed and many more. if you are thinking of buying this system, dont hesitate and make sure to buy it on the weekend ;)"

"Despite the fact that the system is chunky and overpriced, the features that come on this baby are beastly. Like the free online gameplay,(not like the Xbox 360) the blue-ray player is a nice addition, and the sleek chrome design is nothing to complain about. Great graphics but not to many people I know have this which is a big minus. The only way people can enjoy something is if they share it."

"I was so disappointed when I purchased my PS3 to find out they no longer make models that play PS2 games. Luckily Best Buy has a great return policy and was able to offer me a full refund.

I wanted to upgrade my PS2 to a PS3..no such luck"

"I had the system for two days. I got as a present from me to me on the bday!! I love my playstation 3 the graphics are great I love that the playstation 3 has themes like the psp. I have all the playstation systems that have come out from the past and I have no problems at all. Playstation products haven't given me a one problem. The only thing is I don't know what to do with my wired ps2 controllers lolz!!"

"system is ok... but really disappointed in the fact that the new models (matte silver where the chrome should be) does not play ps2 games anymore... i dont understand why they would make the newer systems without upconverting capability... and neither does the 160 gb model =("

"This is one of the best gaming consoles that I have ever used. The graphics are extremely amazing and pricless. Better than any other. I also like the fact that you can have FREE online gameplay. The Internet browser is totaly good. And the wireless DUALSHOCK controller makes for free play without tangling wires. Blu-Ray looks like the sickest Anyone has ever seen. Be sure to get a HDMI wire if you have a HD TV so you can get the most out of Your Playstation 3. When the PS3 came out, I thought it sucked becasue there would not be any cool games for it but now that I know that there are, It is AMAZING. LittleBigPlanet and Metal Gear Solid 4 are two of the most amazing games for the system. So is Resistance 1 and 2. Even though the Gaming selection is bigger for the xbox 360 it is still a great console. The xbox 360 does have a lot of the features that the PS3 has , but the PS3 has upgraded them like crazy. The Playstation 3 is so advanced that if you tried to play LittleBigPlanet on it, it would crash. It cannot handle the shere Awsomness. INSANLEY AMAZING!!!"

What's great about it: durable for me and good bang for buck

"i bought a ps3 last year around this time and it worked great until this summer when it would freeze up while playing any game. so i sent it back to sony they shipped back a new one with all my data on it free. then about a month ago i dropped my ps3 on concrete... it survived with no reshipping to sony so it is very durable and i wouldnt say its better than a 360 because the game selection for 360 easily overmatches ps3 right now but in a year or 2 i think ps3 will be the better system"
