What's great about it: the pure power of the ps3

"i play my ps3 alot and can say from experiance its the best gaming experiance out there. the xbox is nice but as for performance, power, and graphics its outperformed by the ps3. madden09 is the best game ever. but when tekken 6 comes out it will have a good run for its money."

"This system has got to be my smartest buy. It has the Blu-Ray player in it, so you get HD movies. The Games are great for it and The graphics are unbelievable. It's great to be able to take advantage of my 1080p television with this systems capabilities. This is a must have."

"The PS3 is by far the best system that you could ever own. It meets all my gaming, movie and computer needs. I have had it since it first came out, and have never had a single problem with it. You can load and edit your pics on it, load music, and create play lists, download movies, send e-mail, ext.... Its a computer, a blue ray player, and most of all the best most realistic gaming system ever, with so much memory its unreal. Since I got my PS3, all my friends, old and young, who have played it, went out and got one for there self. YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH BUYING THE PS3."

"This PS3/Blu-ray player is great! You get the best of both worlds with this unit. If you are looking for a blu-ray player and also enjoy playing games this is perfect. I use it for the blu-ray player more, but I have the PS3 player for my nephews who just love the PS3 player. The graphics are great and they love this more than their PS2 player they have at home. The best thing about this player is if connected to the internet which I highly suggest you get all the upgrades so the machine will never be outdated. I have had this for almost a year now and and I can't tell you how many upgrades there have been for this unit already. I haven't had any issues with the blu-ray or the PS3 player. It was the best investment and you get so much for your money. So if you are wondering if this is worth the investment, hands down it's well worth the money for it's great performance and multiple features."

What's not so great: nuh nuh NOTHING!

"I bought my ps3 on the christmas after it's release date for myself and everytime I touch the controller it's like my own little world that cannot bore me and can keep me awake for 2 days straight and not move to do anything at all. I even tested the durability of this machine(which was not smart and I do not recommend this to you) by bouncing gently up and down on it like not getting more than two inches from it's surface and I weigh like 140LBS and nothing happened to it... it is still in perfect condition to this day. I've own alot of playstation consoles including: ps1, ps2, ps3, psp."

What's great about it: Price (yes), Graphics, Performance, Free Account, Game/Movie/TV Store, quiet, FEATURES. MORE.
What's not so great: It's a dust collector?

"Price:
First let me start off by price. The price is actually cheap. If you compare this to other systems and Blu-ray systems, you'll find that this is the cheapest system. It also has the top Blu-ray player on the market. With alllll the features you get with $400+, you won't regret this.

Design/Interface:
The system itself is SEXY=). I mean it's design is very modern and beautiful to look at. The interface that it uses, XMB, is very easy to use. Compared to the 360 Dashboard, you'll see that the XMB is easier to locate things, and it's very neat, simple, fast, and customizable. You can have a customed theme, you can go download a theme for free!

Performance:
WHOA this thing is FAST. Right when you turn it on, just click to sign in, and there you go, you're ready for all the features it has to offer.

Graphics:
COME ON! This is Blu-Ray, what do you think!? Highly recommend getting Component cords or HDMI cords to get that full HD picture when gaming or watching movies. 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 720i, 480i, graphics.

Games/Gameplay/Online Gameplay:
Okay, PS3 is lacking that ultimate online gameplay that the 360 offers, but have you checked the Playstation Exclusives! The titles of them probably don't grab your attention as much as "HALO" but if you tried the exclusives, you will fall in love with them!

Accessories:
-Dualshock 3 Controller. Very light, durable, and wireless! The controller has SIXAXIS motion so it can be used just like the Wiimote. The buttons are very easy to locate, and that PS-Button is VERY HANDY. If you're too lazy to turn on your ps3, just click it once and your system will turn on. When you're in a game, just click it once, and you can set your settings for other accessories, and chat with friends. Holding on the button during gameplay can turn off the system, turn off controller, or checking the battery/time/date.
-Playstatation Eye. Very cool camera to use. You can also use it as a mic for online play. There's also games coming up that are made just for the camera use.
-Keypad. WIRELESS keypad that CONNECTS to your controller. So when you wanna type to your friends, it'll be faster.

-Wi-fi. Wireless connection
-Bluetooth. Connect your bluetooth, controller, mic, and more!
-USB ports
-Blu-ray player
-Store your pictures, music, and videos
-Built-in Harddrive.
-Playstation Store - Download free demos, full games, free trailers, free themes, free wallpapers, rent movies/tv shows, buy movies/tv shows.
-Life with Playstation - View a globe with REAL-TIME cloud patterns. View weather around the world, view news. Also FOLDING@HOME.
-Playstation HOME - a community-based service. Home allows users to create an avatar for their PlayStation 3 console. This avatar will get their own virtual apartment space, which can then be adorned with items users can receive in several different ways. In the future the service will also expand, allowing players to have more sorts of clothing or bigger apartments. Sony wants to give people the tools to create their own things.
-Web-Browsing with flash player.
-Trophy System. Similar to 360's Achievements
-Playstation Network - free of charge.

There are many upcoming features/accessories/exclusives that the Playstation 3 has to offer. The Playstation 3 is a very POWERFUL machine that can almost do anything. The reason why the Playstation 3 is having bad sales is because of the price of what it's offering. But the price is worth it.

I've had my 60Gb Playstation 3 since launch day and nothing has ever happened to it. It's very reliable and you don't have to worry about a hardware failure (like RROD). The Playstation 3's failure rate is less than 3%."

What's not so great: Online experience will never be what the XBOX 360 is.

"I really have nothing bad to say about the PS3, other than the fact that the online experience isn't as much fun for some reason. Menus are pretty simple to navigate though. There is a browser, which the 360 is lacking (not that too many people care). It's great bang for the buck, since most Blu Ray players cost right about the same amount of money. Buy one of these instead this holiday season if you're planning on getting blu ray."

What's great about it: Price, Hard Disk space.
What's not so great: Appearance, USB ports, ventilation ports, card reader removed.

"Still does mostly what you need it to do (play games and Blu Ray discs) for a great price, but with some interesting omissions: This new version has two less USB ports than previous models, an important issue when you start plugging in Guitar Hero receivers, recharging controllers, or anything else. It also omits the multimedia card reader interface which is available, I believe, on all previous models (now just a plastic covered lip). It omits front ventilation port. It has traded in the shiny, sleek metallic highlights for a dull burnished metal look instead, which makes it look cheap (I suppose, to make it obvious to others that you have the "cheaper" version, for anyone who may be concerned about that). Finally, some have alleged that it no longer has backward compatibility for many if not all PS2 games. I cannot affirm this; I do not play PS2 games on the system . . . but something to check into if you have an extensive PS2 library you want to play using it. I would recommend with the above noted reservations."

"This unit by far exceeds any game system SONY has ever developed. This is not only a gaming device but this is a COMPUTER. This is fully loaded with WIFI internet connection, USB ports, and Wireless controllers. It is an inteligent system with lots of memory to store music, videos, or your saved games. This is a very sleek looking unit that is all black. I have many upon many hours of play time on this unit and it will erase boredom completely. The BLU RAY PLAYER comes built into the unit so there is no need to buy extras and plug it in. This plays through HDMI as well so the graphics are incredible. If you dont know which unit to buy, this is the one!!!!!!"

"I've had my PS3 for a little over a year and its amazing. Some people complain about the price but for what you get, its a good deal. X-Box360 may cost a little less but you get so much more with a PS3 for just a little bit more. The PS3 has a Blu-Ray DVD player, it's Blue Tooth enabled, and comes standard with internal wireless internet. X-Box360 comees with none of that, in fact, if you want to just get wireless internet with the 360 you have to pay almost $100 more. And i'm not sure about the specific specs about the graphics capabilities of the PS3 and 360 but I personally think that the graphics look much better on a PS3 then the 360 (I own both but play my PS3 much much more).
So, anyone looking for a great, quality gaming system i would highly recommend a PS3 over a 360."

"I love my BlueRay player, I mean ps3! I have been wanting a blueray player for a while and it was a no brainer to get this great system for around the same price with the obvious extra features. I would recommend purchasing a dvd remote as well. The controller is not very user friendly when playing and navigating a dvd."

What's not so great: Not enough game utilize the graphic visual capabilities or the SIXAXIS controller feature.

"The PS3 is a great piece of entertainment technology. I has so many functions! The cost is about the same as a average Blu-ray player, plus it plays DVD's, CD's, and a growing selection of games. PS3 also has internet browsing capabilites, as well as own online store. You can download content to customize your screen, get game add ons and expansions. There are new and classic download-able Games, free Demos and trailers, and also a selection of Movies and TV shows that you can download directly to your system. Some games also utilize the cool SIXAXIS controller function, where certain in game actions rely on the way you move the controller. I have never had a major problem or malfunction with my PS3 and I enjoy seeing how Sony is expanding and pushing the limits of what a gaming system can do."

What's great about it: Great Picture even on the worst tv's it has nice controllers.
What's not so great: The only problem i had was that my ps3 broke once the bd drive didn't want to read discs

"It didn't want to read discs so i sent it back to sony and they fixed it in 2 weeks so i could play all my games again, ADVICE>> If your PS3 Freezes never shut it off by the back or else it won't read discs anymore. Hold the ON/RESET button until u hear a beep"

"I was going trough places to buy a blue ray palyer and just happened to go to best buy and asked the sales person on what to buy. He took me to PS3 and I knew instantly what I wanted. This device is a Blue Ray disk player, 80GB of Hard Drive, WiFi and an excellent game console. What else do you require for a blue ray device for 400$. I am so thankful to Best Buy for employing staff who understands us and tell us what is the best for us. He was not trying to force anything on me, but was explaing me the best for the cost. Thank you sony for such a cool product and best buy for selling this and having such an excellent and dedicated staff. I am sure all the customers will aggree with me."

"The PS3 is an awesome console with the best specs of all the consoles. But you also pay the most money. The design and look are very modem and sophisticated looking. Features such as 1089p, blu-ray dvd, and wireless connection are all missing from the closest competitor the XBox 360. However, I have never liked the feel and layout of the PS controllers. And there are not as many games as available on the XBox 360. Bottom line, if you want the best and can afford it get the PS3. If your TV can't support 1080p and you don't care about blu-ray, check out a XBox 360 and you'll save some major $$$."

What's great about it: All around best system

"Ps3 is the best system on the market. I own a 360 for about one year got to play it for about 2 months the rest of the time it was being sent off with the ring of death. Also own a wii but the games are just fun games more for kids. Have not had one problem with the ps3 at all. Most people say that it doesn't have enough games but every game I have owned and played for it is great and they just keep getting better."
