"i like ps3 very much. even thought it doesent play ps2 games. the games for it can be big because blu ray can hold up to 50 gb other games up to 15 or 8 gb"

What's great about it: Blu-ray and Gaming capability
What's not so great: Internet browser seems slow, no infared sensor for remote

"I gave the PS3 a 5 because you can play high-def games and play blu-ray movies on it. You can't beat that combination. It seems like it takes a while to load blu-ray movies. And sometimes my Tiger Woods game glitches, not sure if it's the game, or the system. I hate that it doesn't have an infared sensor for my harmony one remote. For that specific reason I use my XBox360 more. Internet gaming on the playstation really isn't that good. Seems kind of confusing, not very user friendly. As a whole, it performs pretty well though. The games are pretty unreal looking. It's also pretty neat that it has the ability to connect to the internet via wireless connection."

What's great about it: Easy to set up, Web Browser, Separate Profiles
What's not so great: Controllers need to be upgraded to get the Dual shock.

"I went through several options when deciding which gaming system to buy. It had been years since I've even played video games (early 90's). While this system is in a higher price range than the Wii and a relatively similar price as the Xbox; I felt it was worth the money.
There aren't many games for children under 8 years old but the sytem is easier to use than a Wii. I did find that there is a wider range of exclusive games for the Playstation than other systems.
I was a little disappointed that I had to buy seperate controllers to get the Dual Shock effect. I do like the fact that the controller's bateries are self contained and that charging is very simple with the included cords. (I did buy a seperate charging station so I can charge them while the sytem is turned off.)
Bonus features include the web browser and Blu-ray player.
I like the fact that (like a computer) you can create seperate profiles and choose your own settings.
Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. It was a great choice."

What's great about it: WAY to much to say
What's not so great: high price (worth the money though)

"this is the greatest system i have ever owned and played. its price tag may be high but the value makes the system seem cheap. this beast of a system includes best graphics, free internet straight out of box, free and built in wireless adapter, ps home, easy to use home page, and amazing games in which are getting better and better. also the system has had no problems at all unlike the red ring of death "machine", xbox 360 (cheaply made). people say the ps3 doesn't have any good exclusives. thats bs. little big planet, uncharted, resistence, warhawk, rachet and clank and also many others that havent reached the shelfs yet. go buy this system."

What's great about it: This is a top of the line gaming system AND a blu-ray player! Amazing price for a fantastic platform.
What's not so great: It gets dusty fairly easily, and it's easy to leave finger marks on the beautiful surface.

What's great about it: awesome games, a lot of memory
What's not so great: can't play ps2 games

"I got this is Killzone 2 and that game is AMAZING. The graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is just awesome. People say that loading on the ps3 is slow. Well sometimes it is. But for the most part its pretty fast. Some games if you play it too long and you never took it out of the ps3 and the CD is hot then it might load slow, which is probably why they tell you to take out the Blu ray disc after your done, but for the most part loading isn't an issue. Im reallying enjoying the system. I have Assassins creed, Ninja gaiden sigma, Killzone 2, and devil may cry 4, all of them are awesome. But i tried putting a ps2 game. It said "this version of the ps3 cannot play ps2 formatted software" I tried that with 2 or 3 games same thing. But i didn't buy it so i can play ps2 games but still. The memory is awesome. I have most episodes of South park, The SIMPSONS, and American dad. I have like a thousand videos which is really awesome. If im tired of losing or i just don't feel like playing, I can watch my favorite T.V shows. Seriously this is way better than 360. I had this system for a month and its still working like i first got it. My friend got a 360 around the same time i got a ps3 and in 2 weeks he got the red ring of death. There are actually a good number of exclusives for ps3. Killzone 2, Resistance 1,2, Infamous, Little big planet, Uncharted, (a second one is coming out), and probably a lot more coming out. All xbox is doing right now is just buying off some games that were going to be exclusive for ps3 like Resident evil 5 or devil may cry 4 just like they did while xbox1vs ps2. Trust me this is way better than 360 and its worth the money"

"I LOVE MY PLAYSTATION 3! I had the Playstation, then Playstation 2, and Sony continues to amaze me. The graphics this system projects are phenomenal. Another thing I like about it is that no game that has been designed yet has fully maxed out the cores, which means the games will continue to increase in quality! If that isn't enough of a selling point, it plays dvds, cds, AND bluray discs as well. The bluray players alone are the price of this system...so why not go for it?"

What's not so great: no problems have had it for 5 months and still no complains! only that it cost to much but worth it to me!

What's great about it: Blu-Ray, quick internet access, easy setup for internet accounts, graphics, all around awsome!
What's not so great: Its too good. My house got broken into and my playstation was stolen along with all my games and headset

"If it came down to PlayStation or Xbox 360, my vote is obviously for the PS3. It's equipt with all around better everything. For one, it plays High def DVDs that xbox does not. And everything is wireless and mess free. Sony also offers PlayStation Network which allows you to surf the web. This feature turns the Sony PlayStation 3 into a computer. You can surf with up to six Internet tabs open at once. This is a feature that is not available on Microsoft's Xbox Live, and Microsoft has shown no interest in adding it.

Microsoft is charging you $50 a year to just to use their Xbox Live. Why pay for online playing when this has been solved by Sony. Sony's Playstation Network is free to whoever owns a PS3. All you have to do is connect to the Internet and you are playing live against people from around the world. The only cost is you have to pay for the Internet bill, which you are already doing.

Nevertheless, you must note that Microsoft did a good job in hiding the oversized adaptor in its campaign. This thing is bigger than a power surge protector, and one could mistake it for another console. Yikes. Sony has hidden theirs inside the Playstation console so you don"t have to worry about carrying an extra case just to carry the power supply.

The PlayStation definitly offers more for your buck. Unfortunately I'm a broke college student who is going to have to save up to buy another one."

"The PS3 is a great gaming system overall and definitely overrules the PS2. The graphics are much better and the wireless control adds the ease of playing. Also many of the games for the PS3 have trophies you can earn. In addition to the above mentioned there is internet access, a store to buy PS3 games, and even a PS3 community where you can meet other gamers on the network. The PS3 rocks!!!!"

"The PS3 is the best system out. When i bought it i wasnt discouraged by the price. It has great game selection and trust me when you buy it you wont be able to put it down. I got mine in February and everytime my cousins come over to play we can never put it down. Best buy also gave me a 50 dollar gift card for buying the PS3 so i give my overall experience shopping here a 4 star and also the warranty is great. Thnx Best Buy."

What's great about it: Beautiful graphics, built in wifi, blu ray
What's not so great: no backwards compatibility

"I had been trying to decide on PS3 or Xbox 360 for months. After a lot of consideration I decided on PS3 and here are a few reasons why:

Blu ray player can cost 400 dollars alone
Built in WiFi
No Red Ring of Death
Online is free

I figured it up and I actually would have ended up paying the same for an Xbox after all the upgrades I added to it. I was actually in line to get one and there was a customer in front of me switching from Xbox to PS3 because he was on his 6th replacement for RRD on his Xbox. The only complaint I have at all is that Sony has quit manufacturing backwards compatible models. The only ones available are used or refurbs, but if you come across one, buy it.

I have been nothing but pleased with PS3 and it may seem more expensive, but it is worth it, and the cost is pretty much the same as Xbox in the longrun. So if you are contemplating, go for PS3."
