What's great about it: Charges your iPod/iPhone, Plays well, minor static, and RDS works
What's not so great: Didn't tell me how to use international mode

"I just recently bought this product for my iPhone 3G, and I must admit the first time I used I was kinda disappointed because it won't pick up the clear stations that I have in this area, instead Smart scan picks up the stations which are not really clear.

So I went online, browsed the forums and to my amazement there is an International Mode for this product. Yes it works also for other countries that supports 87.1 above.

To get to international mode:
What you need to do is press the middle button once (Function), then you'll see a new menu with the Griffin name/logo - press and hold the middle button again for a few seconds until the Griffin name/logo moves upward. That's the international mode. Now tune in to 87.9 or 89.9 and you're good to go. Minor static and sound quality is very nice.

The only con I found with this product is that it didn't tell me how to do the international mode, and the reason I'm only giving it 4 stars because there's no perfect transmitter that could eliminate the static background effect.

All its features are working, you can play/pause, FF, RW through the adapter, R.D.S. shows the name and artist of the song (if your car supports it) and lastly FM transmitter in int'l mode rocks. A must for iPhone users out there!"

Great FM Solution 09/26/2008

What's great about it: Easy to setup, install, and use. Looks sleek, iPod connector is the smaller kind that comes with the newer ipods.
What's not so great: SmartScan seems inconsistent - 89.9 is the best frequency to use in my area, but SmartScan never picks it up...

"I use this with the Griffin Windowseat, and both are fantastic. I'm a little unclear whether I can leave the unit plugged in all the time (cigarette outlet) or not - I'm afraid it will run down my battery, because the red light stays on, even if I don't have my iPhone plugged in...

Audio clarity is great, it keeps my iPhone charged in the car - what more could I ask for?"
