What's great about it: It shoots a very clean and crisp image !!! It takes SD cards !!!!!
What's not so great: Very little !!! In a perfect world, I would like a better zoom range with the lens.
Amazing value !!!! I bought this camera after doing a lot of research and testing. I occasionally like to play video editor and normally only work with bulkier higher end movie cameras, but saw this new category of small movie cameras and wanted to give them a try. I bought this Kodak Zi6 about a month a go and am VERY impressed with it. It’s a great value with a lot of goodies that come with the camera and it shoots a very clean and crisp image. I’m also VERY impressed with its images in low light situations too. This camera films in the .MOV format so, it works hand in hand with my Mac and Windows computers and even works well with Apples’ Final Cut Pro. The only thing Negative about this produce is that it, like all of the cameras in this category of pocket movie cameras, is that it has a small digital zoom len. But, O well !!!

What's great about it: Very compact, simple to use, great quality
What's not so great: No USB extension cord
This camera is just amazing for those who love shooting video, but they don't want to carry around a big camera. This one has a great battery life from the AA batteries (rechargeable, with charger!) and the the memory is up to you. Just get an SDHC card and you're off to the races!

What's great about it: Easy to use, software works, takes good video
What's not so great: USB could be longer
Very good video for the price. I have had no problems running the camera on Vista, XP, or my Mac, not sure why some are having issues. Let's be clear, it is a low cost HD camera that has simple features that most anyone can understand.
This camera is not great in low light, like the dark, but again for the cost I would not expect the camera to be great in this area.
If you are keeping your recording simple then this is something to look at.

What's great about it: Convenient size
What's not so great: Missing a flip video USB cable extension (female on one end, male on the other)
While this camera is convenient, small in size and compact with everything you need, if you have a computer that has a "lip" surrounding your USB ports, the USB that comes attached to the camera might not be long enough to fit fully into your computer. The camera is therefore missing a flip video USB cable extension (female on one end, male on the other) that it should come with, just in case of this problem. You have to buy it separately here:

What's great about it: Price, size, quality, ease of use, runs on AA batteries
What's not so great: Zoom
Awesome little pocket camera. Makes HD quality videos on a $150 camera!!
To everyone complaining about its fuzzy night time video, get over it. I had a $400 Cannon (FS100) and had fuzzy night time video with it also, unless you plan on spending around $1k for a camcorder, you're going to get fuzzy night time video. The software is simple and easy to use, and it DOES work on windows vista, you just have to make sure to download the included disc AND plug the camera in and download it also (I made that mistake). The one and only con I have (and its a minor one) is its zoom, its not much. If you plan on doing a lot of far away filming (sporting events...) this camera would probably not be the best idea.

What's great about it: The features I want
I chose the Zi6 over than the Flip minoHD and Sony Webbie and am completely pleased. The features of the Zi6 that are essential for me that each of the other two lack at least one of are
* replaceable batteries, so that I can bring spares to film long events
* replaceable storage for the same reason
* integrated USB connector
* HD video jack
Importing recordings into iMovie is a breeze. After connecting the Zi6 to my MacBook's USB port, two disk volumes appear. From iMovie, I choose "Import Movies..." then pick the files I want from the Zi6 in iMovie's file browser. There is no format conversion loading into iMovie, so it is fast and occurs with no loss in quality. After editing, I export to QuickTime format 1280x720 60 fps and again suffer no loss of quality.
I use SanDisk HD Video SD cards purchased while on sale for $19.95. They have never let me down in terms of capturing the full quality the Zi6 can produce. The lack of image stabilization on the Zi6 has forced me to develop a steady hand during recording, which has not been that hard. I use a tripod when I want a rock steady recording.

What's great about it: Great for Education
What's not so great: Not sure...
I'm a high school teacher and this camera has been a godsend. After years of having to deal with the slow process of uploading DV film to my mac, I finally have a camera that is cost effective, does not take up too much space, and is super-fast to load to my Mac desktops. My students actually requested that I purchase this particular camera for ease of use.
I'm not using it as my primary photo camera (as I have other cameras for that) and I have a tripod which steadies the shot and the students use, but once you have those things I really can't find anything wrong with this camera.
I initially was even skeptical because of what people wrote on this review list, but I really don't know if we have the same camera. It has been a great device since I bought it. While I've read reviews that say the Mimio HD has a better picture, at least this Kodak allows me to change SD cards (a must) and go all the way up to 32GB (which I do) vs the 1 hour Mimio gives, and it can be gotten for nearly 70 bucks less per camera...

What's great about it: Qulaity, ease of use, warranty and KODAK name brand !
What's not so great: Nothing
I am so happy with this camcorder. I went to best Buy several times to buy a Flip camera but always left without buying one. Just wasn' t happy. Then I saw the Kodak and I grabbed it right away after comparing this to the Flip. The Kodak comes with a YEAR warranty as opposed to The Flips 90 day. Why does the manufacturer only give 90 days warranty ? The LCD screen is much bigger on the Kodak. The Kodak comes with a charger and rechargeable batteries, plus a nice suede pouch. The Kodak also uses SD cards so you are not limited to JUST an hour as on The Flip. The Flip ONLY records 1 Hour, then you must download to a computer or delete it but the Kodak can record forever. No problem when you are out and no computer with you. Keeps on recording. I picked up 2 PNY cards 8 Gigabyte for 20 dollars each on sale.
The Kodak plays back in slow motion too.
None of this means anything if the picture quality is not good. Well, the Kodak shines. Picture quality is great. I am very impressed.
This shoot' s in high definition, the regular Flip does not. The Flip HD goes for over 50 dollars more than the Kodak.
One big thing, is the KODAK name !
No problem with the included software on my Vista PC.
Hands down, Kodak is supreme !!!!!!
Value, build quality, much better than The Flip, picture quality, ease of use
continuous shooting and the KODAK name brand.
An absolute winner !!!!! I highly rcommend

What's great about it: price, hd quality
What's not so great: a tad bulky, zoom
For $150 it's hard to go wrong for an hd cam. I have used a class 4 sdcard, after reading that slower ones cause frame drop, and my videos are good on all levels. The hd 60 is a little excessive, and sometimes choppy on moving objects. Videos on my laptop are somewhat choppy, and there are some framerate issues. Videos on my mac which is hooked up to an hd tv are actually very very good, and I experienced very few of the quality problems as the laptop. Images look good when hooked up to tv via supplied cable. Some people knock it not having memory, but hd videos are huge, I got an 8 gb sdcard for $25. The zoom is awful, it clicks, it doesn't look good, but again for $150 what kind of lens/zoom would you get? Overall I really enjoy this, it's small enough to have with me, quick to start and use in moments.

What's great about it: Outdoor daylight movies look great
What's not so great: Any low light video is not just bad but is almost unusable.
Ok so we've had this camera for a few weeks now. I also have a Mino HD and a samsung mini mp4 video camera. I've had experience with Mini DV camcorders as well. I bought this unit for my daughter for xmas. I figured she'd be able to make videos with her friends and cousins and use it to take pictures as well. First off the camera is very nice and has a great LCD screen once you play with it for a few seconds it's easy to master the controls. The performance however is totally dependent on the light source. Don't get me wrong all camcorders suffer in low light or darkness by getting grainy and so on but the first time we tried this camcorder was xmas morning, while not bright in our house it was far from dark. All the videos we took didn't just look grainy but they all had really!!! really bad motion blur to them. I tried every mode of shooting video and they all suffered the same fate. We tried taking pictures as well but 9 out of 10 were completely useless do to the blur. I tried it later that night as well and things just got worse. We ended up taking the camcorder on our mini vacation for some skiing and such. I can say outside in mild sunlight the camera seemed to work perfect and I was very happy with the quality of the video the HD was even on par with my Mino HD. THe Mino however far surpasses the ZI6 in low light. Overall we are considering returning the little camcorder and getting a different model. In the end I would not recommend this unit for anyone that does most of their shooting indoors.

Video Review:

What's great about it: Very simple, not many feature to complicate things
What's not so great: Nothing
I bought this 2 days ago and have to say that it was a great buy. A camera with HD quality for such a cheap price. I use it mostly in the gym which is unforgiving with the lighting and this camera stood out and shined. The picture quality is amazing and the sound from the music playing in the gym came out clear and didn't cut out constantly like my last camera. I have not used the snapshot feature, but don't care to yet. The software that came with the camera is great too. I post most of my lifts to youtube and it has a direct post where I didn't even have to log onto the internet to post it. I slide my SD memory card into the computer, hit download and walked away. It did the rest. I have heard that the internal memory is not so great, but I don't know why people here are complaining about it. Buy a SD or SDHC card (2g or 4g) and move on. Complaints about this small inconvience are stupid.

What's great about it: Easy to use, Rechargebale Batteries, Picture Quality, Sexy, Pocketable, Big Screen
What's not so great: Doesnt Play All Video in Playback
This small camcorder is very nice to have around. It is nice that you can use regular AA batteries because you can just buy a pack of batteries for cheap price and have many hours of recording time. It already comes with rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. It is small to fit in your pocket and but also has a large 2.4" screen. I just burned a DVD from footage taken by the Kodak Zi6 and let me just tell you this, The quality of this little, low-priced camcorder really stood out against my 300 dollar camcorder. Seriously, this camcorder had WAY better picture quality than my DVD camcorder. The video was much crisper and clearer, and plus I burned the HD video to regular DVD, and the burned project still looked HD on my TV. I just cant believe the Video looks so nice compared to my 300 dollar camera....My only problem is that I have a slow computer but thats nohing to blame this camcorder...I really recommend it...If you wanna know how to convert the video and what software to use in order to burn it to regular DVD and get expectacular clear video continue reading..
1) Import Video Files to Computer using Included software
2)Search for "SUPER" converter in google and download it
3)Import video files to "SUPER" converter that you want to edit and burn
4)Convert them to MPG files in the MPEG-1 compression
5) Import the MPEG-1 into editing software
6) Edit them and then render(save) video into an HDV 720P 30P file
7)Search for DVD Flick dvd burner software in google and download
8)Import the edited video and just burn it
9) Trust me the video qualtiy is going to look great
This are just suggestions for the ones that really care about video quality and like to edit their videos and burn them to DVD to show to family.. it might not be easy but this is for the more enthusiasts of video..Even though this is not a professional 5,000 dollar camcorder it does a really good job in video quality...Trust me I know about prosumer camcorders and everything....The software i used to edit the footage is Sony Vegas Pro 8....
