What's great about it: The collection of artists and their ability to redefine great songs in a new and beautiful sounding way
I absolutely enjoyed listening to all the tunes on the Les Paul Tribute CD. The guitar playing an music inspires and uplifts the soul. It was in individual take on some of the classic tunes which reminded me of good music and the ability to recreate it so it can sound just as wonderful in today's times. I can listen to the CD over and over again for hours!

What's great about it: eclectic sounds
What's not so great: too folksy
Les Paul and Friends: Tribute to a Legend, is an album of eclectic sounds. My first impression of its genre is that it sounds like a mix of country and rock. We hear syncopated beats and improvised singing patterns, especially in the song “The Walls Kept Tumbling Down.” The male singer, Les Paul has a folksy sound to his vocals. The first song on the album, “The Good Luck Your Having,” is sung by a males singer that resembles Gavin Degraw’s country sound accompanied by electric guitar. The album even includes a U2 cover to “All I Want Is You,” which sounds very close to the original. Finally, it contrasts with “Slipping into Darkness,” sung by a sultry, jazzy female singer!

What's great about it: easy listening, great guitars, amazing artists
What's not so great: only 1 Les Paul music
What can I say...this album is Awesome!!
Joan Osborne is my favorite singer/songwriter and I love Les Paul since forever...those 2 names caught my attention at the beginning but after listening to the whole album, I must say that they are better than good!!
The only thing is I really wish they put more of Les Paul music there..tough I really think that this compilation album introduces me new great artists!
Definitely a must have Album for Les Paul's fans out there!!

I particularly was interested in this album because of the big names associated with it such as Slash, Richie Sambora, and Joan Osborne. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of this album, and thought it was a good tribute to Les Paul. Standout track: "I Dont Want To Be With Nobody But You" by Joan Osborne! This album is worth buying if you're a fan of anyone or all included on this album.

What's great about it: Totally captures the quality and essence of the legend
What's not so great: Wish there were more tracks............
I have been waiting for this come out and I am happy to say i was not disappointed at all. It was everything I expected it to be and more. Every song is amazing, but my favorite has to be "All I Want Is You". If you are debating on whether or not to buy this, just do it already. you will not be disappointed.

I was recommended this album by a friend, and did not know what to expect as I have not really listened to a lot of Les Paul’s music before. But I was positively surprised by this album. It has some great tracks, and famous artists like Joan Osborne and Slash have made some really great recreations of Les Paul’s tracks. It is a great album to listen to when relaxing/chilling and can definitely be recommended if you like jazz, folk and blues.

Les Paul was introduced to me by one of my siblings. His classic music has opened up a whole new avenue for music. This album “A Tribute to a Legend” is a compilation of some of Les Paul’s greatest hits recreated by some amazing artists. Richie Sambora, Joan Osborne, and Slash are a few artists who lent some unique touches to these already timeless tracks. The album incorporates a plethora of sounds such as jazz, folk, blues, and rock that will penetrate your music palate. I strongly encourage everyone to get this album and enjoy!

What's great about it: Big name artists, lots of variety
I was given this album by an acquaintance, and to be honest, I really wasn't sure what to expect. Lacking a guitar background, I didn't think this album would really be my cup of tea. I was pleasantly surprised, though. Unlike most compilation CDs where most listeners have their favorite few tracks, and then pass over the others, I found myself wanting to hear the album in its entirety. Each track has something different to offer - from heavy guitar licks to toe-tapping beats to bluesy numbers. I am sure fans of each of the featured artists will enjoy hearing a new track from their favorite artist, too.
Recommended for: fans of Slash, Richie Sambora, Joan Osborne; guitar aficionados and anyone looking to add something new to their CD collection
