What's great about it: Easy to set up, good price, Quick installation
What's not so great: Runs hot
"This worked great for being able to backup files off of a hard drive before I formatted it. I needed this to quickly backup data before sending in a computer to be fixed. I was able to access all my data and format the drive very quickly."

No hassel disc swap

What's great about it: No setup just plug-n-play
What's not so great: eSATA cable stiff and cumbersome (nit picking)
"I used this device with Acronis, True Image to upgrade my laptop drive. These 2 items allowed me to successfully clone my entire system to my new drive mounted in the Black Widow box. I had the Geek Squad do the actual swap and everything worked perfectly!
There was not a single problem during the entire process. It took about 2 hours to backup, create a recovery disc, and clone the drive. The Geek Squad installed the new drive in about 10 min. The system booted up right off the bat and I was on my way!
I had just spent 3 days recovering my desktop from a crash so I really appreciated how really easy this was."

What's great about it: easy to use
"I bought this product, because I blew my external hard drive and I didn't have a backup. I needed an adapter from SATA to USB to access to all my information, so I went to Best Buy and talk with some guy and recommended me this product. Since that day I use it with my external hard drive and it works great."

What's not so great: I hate wall warts!

What's great about it: Plug and play
"I purchased this to help recover data from my failed WD 1TB MyBook World Edition drive. Power had failed to the WD Device (no light) but I could hear the drive spinning and with more than 500GB of data at stake I needed to take action. I removed the 1TB 3.5 SATA Drive from the MyBook world and plugged it into this, connected it to my PC via USB and PRESTO - All my files were there and accessible.
The fact that this device worked immediately under Ubuntu 9.04 without any special work or command lines sealed the deal for me. Best product I've purchased this year."

What's great about it: Well built, incredibly easy to use, and works great!
What's not so great: Nothing so far.
"Well after my old hard drive crashed a week ago, I had got a new hard drive for my computer, but I had lost all my pictures and stuff, so I decided to try a HD docking station to see if I could repair the broken hard drive with disk warrior. So when I got it I plugged it into my computer and put the HD in it, and my mac recognized it immediately, and best of all disk warrior was able to repair it and get my all my stuff back!!! So now I am using it and my now working HD as an external drive, and it works great!"

"With the unit connected to my computer via eSATA I could copy files from the unit to my pc with no issue. When I tried to copy a file from my computer to the unit it would just freeze up and stop responding. I tried several times with no luck. I didn't try the USB connection because I already had an enclosure with USB. I returned the unit back to Best Buy. The unit was well made and came with eSATA and USB cables. Since you can return the unit back to Best Buy I would recommend you try it out."

What's great about it: Just works.
What's not so great: Nothing yet.
"I have to say I am very impressed, un-boxed, plugged into my MacBook Pro and away it went! Nothing else required.
I am now using it with all my drives that I removed from my Western Digital My Book enclosures so that I do not have to use lots of power packs all over my office.
Very impressed with build quality and surprised how easily you can place the drives in without worrying about the connectors aligning correctly."

What's great about it: Easy install, great way to use extra HDDs or get data off a HDD
What's not so great: A little tricky plugging drive into connector
"A great tool for the price. Very easy to set up (mine was in Vista). 2.5" drives are a little tricky to get lined up to plug in but not a hinderance. I have not tried this with a 3.5" drive yet."
