We have had this router for not even a year and for the last 6 months the signal has cut in and out constantly. I thought the problem was with the internet and when the cable company came and connected directly to the modem I knew where the problem was. We have to refresh every single page we go to and it takes forever to load the pages. This was the biggest waste of money and now we have to spend even more to get a GOOD router. Don't waste your money it'll just make you ANGRY!!
What's great about it: Nothing!
What's not so great: Everything! No signal 90% of the time!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased my Belkin Router several weeks ago now, and have yet to experience any problems. My computer connected right away, and I have been using it ever since. I have run a speed test from wired and wireless, and the speeds are almost identical, which is great, because I require a fast connection speed!
What's great about it: Great price, easy to use, easy to set up
What's not so great: Sometimes it takes about 30-60 seconds for wireless to connect
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had almost no networking experience and purchased this wireless router a couple of months ago on sale hoping to set up a wireless network in my apartment.
Pros:
-Installation was simple, I just followed the instructions and the CD and router took care of it on there own (first make sure you know what kind of protocol your internet service provider gives, such as PPPoE, and how your modem needs to be configured), ~5-10 minutes and my wireless was running
-Has a 4 port switch on the back so you can connect up to 4 devices by ethernet cables if you choose
-Emits a strong signal throughout the apartment and has not dropped my connection once
-Compact size, easy to fit about anywhere
Cons
-nothing significant, may not work as well in a larger environment
Bottom Line
This router has done everything I've asked of it and was a really good value for the cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this router over a year ago. Not only has it was a pain the to install and get running, the needed drivers weren't on the installation disk that came with the product, so I had to download them onto a flash drive and then transfer them to the computer I desired to hook internet up to (customer service assistance not very helpful), Also it's slow and often loses its signal, even on the main computer that is wired into it.
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: performance, often loses signal
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've never bought or even used a router before i purchased this one. The router was surprisingly easy to set up and install. My original plan was to purchase one of the highest reviewed routers I've seen (Linksys WRT54GL), but changed my mind once i seen this one for nearly $40 off. $25 for a router seemed like a deal for me since i was limited on money. After getting it home and opening the package, there wasn't much to the contents. An installation disc, the router and an Ethernet cable was all it came with. I followed the quick-guide to the letter and was hooked up in a matter of minutes. The installation cd is also the only way (that i know of) to configure the router and it has a huge amount of options to go through. All-in-all, this router is perfect for what i needed. What i needed a router for was so that my wife could use her laptop rather than wait for her turn on the computer.
She's happy.
What's great about it: Easy installation and configuration. It works great for allowing Laptops and such to access the net in your home wireles
What's not so great: You will always need the CD to make changes to the router settings, it does not install a control program for the router
I would recommend this to a friend!

Save your money and buy a nice linksys. This is a very low quality product. the instructions were not very clear as to how to even set it up to begin with and It only worked well for about 1 week. After that, just like countless other unsatisfied buyers, it cuts the signal completely about every 5 to 20 minutes requiring you to either unplug it to reset it or wait about 5 minutes for it to kick back in. This product is terrible and you will be sorry. You get what you pay for sometimes and in this case, it's true.
What's great about it: the price
What's not so great: everything else

For a small apartment, the cheap unit got the job done. However, 3 months in we started having intermittent connectivity issues. Although we were still getting a signal to the cable modem, the router was not broadcasting the signal. It finally broke down a month later... all it does is have the power and security light on. Might as well buy a nicer router, because you'll have to do it eventually.
What's great about it: Easy set up and install
What's not so great: Lasted less than 6 months

This is the first time that I tried a Belkin product and it was primarily due to my frustration with Linksys. The Belkin was supposed to have a terminal failure rate that is less than comperable Linksys routers. I'm not sure if that is true, but I do know that I will never buy one of these again. It is no exaggeration to say that this product must be reset at least once per day. Of late I have had to reset it multiple times per day.
If you are considering buying this router you may be better off to just spend another 10-20 bucks and get something nicer. It is really not worth the headache.
What's great about it: Reboots quickly after manual restart
What's not so great: Requires a manual reset at least once a day

I've bought a few Belkin products, specifically audio products, and trusted the name. I needed a wireless and wired router for my home and didn't want to spend a fortune. This was on sale at Best Buy for 39.99 so I thought it would be just enough for what I need. WRONG. Intermittent service and constant rebooting make it practically useless for anything but checking email and online, arcade games (forget WOW or anything serious). My wired Linksys out-performed on every level and I will likely spend the money on a mid to higher-end router from them. Don't buy this low-end router. I can't recommend any higher, but this is not even worth the low-ball price.
What's great about it: Easy to hook up
What's not so great: Intermittent at best; lousy wifi interaction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Well, what can I say? You buy cheap, you get cheap. Now I know to spend a little bit more and buy something that will actually last more than 3 months of continuous use.
We had been having problems with our internet for about 3 weeks now. There were constant drop offs in service, and 70% of the time we couldn't even get a page to load. I honestly thought it was Comcast's problem. I kept calling and calling because I thought "It can't be the router, I just got it!" I finally broke down and unplugged it, plugged the ethernet cable directly from the back of the computer into Comcast's modem and that was the end of my internet drop offs and slow speeds. I told my mom (who also bought the Belkin) and her internet troubles stopped as soon as she switched routers as well.
You may feel the desire to spend less money now, but trust me it's not going to be worth it down the line. Save some more pennies and go out and buy a reliable router.
What's great about it: It was inexpensive
What's not so great: Stopped working in 3 months
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am generally a smart person...except when it comes to technology. However, this was very easy for me to install. I thought that I would need assistance. I thought wrong. Within minutes, I was connected to the internet.

My old Netgear router failed, so I picked this one up because it was the best price. It worked with my XP machine just fine, but after 4 angry hours of swearing and frustration, trying to configure it to work with Vista, I finally threw in the towel.
I returned it, bought a Netgear router and was up and running in less than 5 minutes on both XP and Vista.
Don't waste your time and money on this one, pay the extra $10 for a better quality router.
What's great about it: Price
What's not so great: Would not work with Vista. Need CD drive to install (won't work with netbooks)

Before buying this item, I was very unfamiliar with wireless routers. The price was right on this one and once I got it home, it was SO easy to set up and worked right away. Also set up the security without difficulty and again...am not very computer saavy. Signal is great in the house and makes wireless computing a breeze.

Must state the first thing anyone needs to do if you buy this thing is go download the manual for it from here, http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/list/q/routers/.
The good stuff:
Simply put, this thing is so simple to setup, even a caveman could do it!! If you use DHCP and do not assign ip addresses to each computer, it should connect by simply rebooting your modem first, then this router.
If you do assigni ip's, the gateway for this thing is 192.168.2.1. For each computer on your network, that last digit increases by 1. I was so used to everything being a 192.168..0.1 or some other turned around version of those last 2 digits.
The only bad thing about this router is the instructions that come with it are JUST for connecting this to your modem and computer. NOTHING in it about web gui, default password, or anything.
Get the manual first!!
http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/list/q/routers/
What's great about it: everything is so simple
What's not so great: no manual at all
