What's great about it: Easy to download music
What's not so great: Constantly Freezes

"The Zune was given to me as a birthday gift and with the help of Customer Service, i was able to get it up and running without a problem. I was very excited about it until it froze one week later. I thought it was a particular song so i deleted that song and two weeks later, the Zune froze on me again. I took it back to the store and exchanged it. The new one froze on me the following day. I contacted Zune Customer Service and they showed me how to reboot it. Well, i've been rebooting it ever since because it constantly freezes. It's very frustrating. I'm definitely going to take it back and exchange it for the 80GB which i was told is freeze-free. If it didn't freeze so much, it would be pretty cool MP3 player."

What's great about it: Easy to use, portable, great battery life
What's not so great: Not easy to find cheap docking stations like you can for the Ipod

"I love my zune. After loading the software on my computer adding music, pictures and podcast was pretty simple.
The fact that I can load podcast is great. I can watch (listen to) some of the shows I like to watch, but do not have time to at home.
If I want to go through the trouble of buying points I will be able to get The Daily Show and Colbert.
My son has an Ipod and it seems to be a chore everytime he wants me to add music to his Ipod. I refuse to add music to his Ipod because it is not easy.
I am trying to talk him into a Zune next time he needs a MP3 player."

"I have never own an ipod before but I have done my research on them.The zune is a lot better.I own a 30GB and I just got this one.I've had my 30GB for two years, and I have never had a problem with it.But lets get to the 8GB.The 8GB zune is a good buy because just like the others they have no flaws except surfing the internet.I don't think the ipod has a fm tuner,or can buy the song on the fm tuner.Some of my songs are wma files,and the ipod does not support them.All zunes are reliable.Zunes are better then ipods(at least in my opinion).If you need to upgrade your software, it's free, from the zune web site.If you need service packs they are free from the microsoft website.Zunes are the best! Get one."

What's not so great: can't dowmload my music to this

"I just got this Zune and I am taking it back, I'm gussing you need to be a computer wiz to work this. I'm not , I have many songs on my computer I had hoped to download, But it awont access them Or my iTunes. So it's going back"

"of course all mp3 players including iPods aren't perfect, and after owning over six brands of mp3 players including samsung, apple, and microsoft,

i'd have to say the zune was my favorite, although it lacks some features that the iPod Touch has, i'd say it is 10 times better than any classic or nano,

so,

if you want some music, games, pictures and stuff like that, get the zune,

looking for something more iPod touch like, get the touch.

Its easy to use and straight forward, it has excellent features like radio, wireless syncing,video, and podcasts. Podcasts are really popular right now so thats a great feature and a great way to watch your favorite episodes from TV, so definitely worth the buy"

What's great about it: Great Podcast management, easy to use
What's not so great: Not too many accessories

"Not wanting to be on my computer any longer than necesasry downloading music, I use my player almost exclusively for podcasts - it's easy and informative. I've had several MP3 players - including a new Ipod - and NONE are as easy to use for this purpose. You can choose what order to play, how many to download other specific criteria for each subscription. While you're listening to a podcast you can subscripe or unsubscribe. The biggest problem I had with the Ipod is that radio show podcast, which often come in many individual episodes per day, automatically played in newest to oldest order. The newest episode - which is the end of the show - play first and it continues in reverse to the beginning of the show. It's very confusing, particularly for interviews where you hear the second part of the interview first. Apparently, there is a work around using playlists but it was all too much of a pain for me. The Zune does it correctly and automatically with some very simple series settings. If you're in the market, and think podcast are in your future, consider the Zune."

"I received this item (mine is black ) and have been really enjoying it. I use it a lot more than I thought I would. It provides an escape and that means a great deal to me. Also, I like the fact that there is another option from the trendy ipod."

What's great about it: Wireless sync and sharing capabilities, FM Radio + option to buy songs and a great screen for movies (16:9)
What's not so great: It's not a phone, a PDA, or a Mobile device. Consider that a benefit!

"The Microsoft Zune player is an ideal media device with tons of functionality. If you are looking for a Portable Media Player the Zune will most likely become one of your options before making a choice.
Keep in mind that phones should not be compared to Media players but to its core competency and purpose. A lot of debate is has derived for hybrid devices, the only suggestion I will make is when buying consider your preferences to match your investment."

What's great about it: excellent quality, great sound, good battery life, user friendly
What's not so great: movie volume not as loud as music volume, but still good!

"Love my zune. Very durable. Easy to download music and movies. Software on web for movie transfer. Larger in size then Ipod, but it's OK with me. Battery life 4 hrs for music and 2 1/2 for movie watching. Recharges quickly."
