"I have been searching for a good mp3 player for years. I've tried iPods and several other brands, and so far this one is my favorite by far. To start playing music it only takes two clicks, my iPod went through several different filters before I could here some music coming out the earbuds. The software took a little time to get used to, but after an hour or so of tinkering around I began to like it more than the software that iPod uses."

"I was one to fall for the hype of the possible i-pod killer but i guess it was exactly as it was.......pure hype. Many give the Zune such great reviews but myself having all the classic i-pods, the nano i-pod' and the i-pod touch I switched to the Zune and found this to be a horrible choice. The resolution of the screen is desolate compared to the touch. Gravely disappointed. THe Zunes option of 1 sound setting is pretty caveman if you ask me. The old adage is correct, you get what you pay for. Id rather spend the extra money for an i-pod because i now know they are far better. I recently purchased close to 700 dollars of music and lost it all on the Zune marketplace. This has never, I repeat NEVER, happened to me with i-tunes. Never a glitch or a lost song, let alone hundreds of songs. THE ZUNE WAS THE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE EVEN PASSING UP MY FIRST GIRLFRIEND.HAHA"

"Hi. I'm ZackB, and I'm a PC. I don't like Apple, and I don't like iPods. That's why I went with Zune, and I couldn't be happier. I've had this product since November of 2008, and the preformance is still like the day I got it out of the box. I could have gone with an iTouch, but for $20 more and 10 times less memory, I'd rather get more bang for the buck.

I got this to music, and it does that just perfectly. That's what I look for in a media player. If I want to surf the web, I'll do it on my home computer.

The user-interface is simple and takes about 5 minutes to learn. No stupid wheel to deal with if I want to adjust volume. Just up or down on the pad. That's it.

The Zune Marketplace (which you can download to try now for free off Zune's webpage) is intelligently designed and is also very easy to self-learn. If you can switch between tabs and windows on the computer you're reading this review on, you can use the software.

I was especially appreciative as to how quickly and easy it was for me to set-up the Zune and Zune Marketplace to be integrated into my pre-existing .NET Passport (meaning I can use the same "Microsoft Points" and Friends List from my Xbox 360 on the Zune Marketplace, and vice versa).

The only downside to this product is the lack of people who have it. The Zune is packed with cool wireless features that allow you to share songs with friends who have Zunes.

This product is the superior Media Player on the market today, with it's high quality software, user interface, picture quality, and so much more I know I've forgotten to mention."

"This thing makes an iPod seem like your father's Oldsmobile. The wireless feature is cool, and so is using the A/V unit with the remote. But I have to admit the one really great thing is the Zune software for your PC--wow, you sit there with the headphones on (buy your own good set, I don't do EARBUDS) and if you leave the mouse alone, Zune fetches the collective stats from its database of other users--and plays a screensaver of art for the artist you are listening to and how many plays of that song, artist etc. In the Mixview mode while listening, you can click and get a band bio, see other Zune users profiles who listen to what you are listening to...the Apple people think they have the MP3 deal locked in--NO way! Microsoft had some people like you and me think this one up...and it ROCKS!"

"The 120 gig Zune is a great product. The only bad thing is that the headphones are too big and they hurt your ears. The headphones of the 80 gig Zune were much more independent and comfortable. The good things are that the software is much better than i-tunes. All in all, I rate this product to be better than an I-Pod."

"this thing is cool. it shouldnt be compared to an iPod, ipods are dull, boring, and extremely over rated! duz an ipod hava a scratch proof screen? FM radio maybe? wat about a marketplace, or social network? can u even change your background?... a Zune is better because u get more variety, and u arent stuck with that hard to use itunes either, my Zune is the bomb. my zune fell the other day, on concrete, while it was raining hard, and with no protection watsoever, and on its screen... i was like dam i gotta buy a new zune, but i turned it around and wiped it off, and it was totally fine, with no scratches at all, my zune is the bomb diggity"

"I used to be a big fan of iTunes and iPod; not anymore. With the ZUNE PASS you can download unlimited songs...YES, UNLIMITED. The ZUNE interface is really easy to navigate and manage. The ZUNE itself is great! It has a huge screen with vivid colors. The touch pad works great and the back button is very convenient. I just can't say enough about the ZUNE and the software. If you are afraid to try it, don't be. I would always recommend getting the best buy extended 2 year warranty; you can never be to careful. Another couple cool features that I would like to mention: you can plug it into your XBox and make playlists for all your games and you can download songs if you are in a WiFi Hotspot from the ZUNE marketplace."

"I was not impresses with the iPod.
So, I tried out the Zune.
1st, it's put together better.
2nd, it is easy to navigate through all the menus.
3rd, the FM radio plays well
4th: you can do full video & audio PODcasts using the Zune Software.
5th: you can watch movies on the Zune
6th: it doesn't freeze like my iPod would freeze
7th: it resists scratches better that my iPod
8th: it allows you to legally share music with other people: wirelessly
9th: The Zune Software for the PC is amazing. It is the best music management software that I've ever used.
The Zune Software allows you to network with others online who listen to music like you do & learn about other exciting musicians. It's great!!!"

"I work in an unforgiving environment, and I don't keep a case on my Mp3 player. The Zune has been banged on countless times, and dropped directly onto the concrete floor, more times than I care to consider. Aside from one, nearly unnoticeable, dent on a corner, the device looks as good as new. The Zune is also, hands down, the best device for Podcasts / Netcasts.

The Sound quality is superb, and the user interface is great. I love the way the software is set up; it just makes sense. It's easy to navigate, and easy to tweak. It's a much more comfortable user experience than iTunes. I've owned iPods, Sansas, and a few odd brands in the past, I won't even bother switching away from the Zune, unless they stop making it, or Someone designs a serious game changer."

"I am absolutely thankful for the reviews on this Best Buy Site. I have been searching for a top end MP3 player and am very happy with my decision to purchase the Zune 120GB. I personally cannot find anything to gripe about concerning the player, except that the included ear buds are very painful. I don't have much of an issue with the fingerprints getting on the screen because it doesn't interfere with the visibility. I am in love with the wireless sync as well as the crystal clear FM radio. This MP3 player rocks, I am very satisfied with my purchase indeed. The XBOX 360 works very well with this unit, it syncs as soon as I sign onto XBOX Live. It also works very well with the Samsung Home Theater with IPOD/MP3 Dock. So for me this has been a very good experience so far. I recommend this player because its a very good player."

"I spent a couple of months going back and forth between the Zune and the Ipod classic. Finally decided on the Zune when I saw Best Buy included the AV pack with purchase, and I am very glad I did. Some reviews have complained about the software-not being able to install, or the Zune did not work after they did everything. I had absolutely no issues with any of it, I downloaded the software, installed in and was downloading podcasts in about 30 minutes (internet connection was slow). I love the screen size and definition-one of my coworkers has the I pod classic and it does not compare. He also has issues using I tunes.

The only thing that I have found to be an issue is the earbuds that came with the unit. You woul dthink that Microsoft would provide something useable with the Zune-given the price. I tried to use them and my mp3's were sounding terrible. I then grabbed a pair of buds that I have had for a couple of years and the sound was much better. DO NOT EVEN TRY TO USE THE BUDS THAT COME WITH THE ZUNE-THEY ARE AWFUL. You cna go anywhere and spend less than $10 and get something better than these pieces of garbage."

"I've had iPods for the last 4 years. I needed a device with a larger hard drive, as I'm converting my music to lossless format, which requires more space. The Zune interested me because it has an FM radio, which when I'm at the gym is important because the TV feeds are FM based.
The software is much less clunky than iTunes, and easier to navigate. I like the fact the Zune marketplace allows DRM free downloads that are MP3 based, making it more open. It plays my AAC files, WMA, and MP3 files flawlessly. The sound quality is top notch, and noticeably better than my iPod."

"This is my first MP3 player, and I did my homework (including talking to someone who does inbound customer care for a large retailer that sells these among others). After it all, for a PC savvy person such as myself who wanted a superior MP3 experience the Zune was right up my alley.

IT WORKS. It works well. Download the software. Tell it where to find your music. Plug in the Zune.

The problems that people were having most often in reality were not related to the unit itself, but the software... which I installed flawlessly on both my 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have been having so much fun with all of my music! From organizing my tracks/albums with the best interface I've ever seen in a music player, the online integration with Zune.net (it tells you when you already own a song!), and being able to take it ALL with me.

I know no one who owns one, but I'm glad I chose the Zune. From what I've gathered in my research and in talking to people, the "nay sayers" had not ever even seen a Zune in person. How can you possibly have such a strong negative opinion about something when the only argument they have is like "some guy I know, his brother's girlfriend borrowed one and it sucked"?

If you aren't a PC novice (and I'm not even sure that's truly a factor), you can read, and aren't all wrapped up in having 9,000 accessories in 47 colors, at least check it out."

"I have had my Zune for over a year and it is without a doubt the best MP3 player on the market. Zune Pass is the best $14.99 you could spend a month. It allows you to use the Zune account on up to 3 PC's and 3 Zunes. So, my case is I can download music UNLIMITED music, from either my work PC. Laptop and home Desktop for my Wifes Zune, mine and a good friends. Durable? I have dropped it twice, not a scratch. Picture quality is supurb! Video Quality is even better if you encode it properly. With the Zune Dock hooked up via component cables into your home audio system, you can use do virtually everything on your big screen. Great product, and cannot wait until the 4th Gen comes out."

"i had to bring in my at least three times and i have to bring it again for not working properly. the first time the zune lost all data after it restarted itself. the second same reason. the third time there are at least 5 burned out pixles and constently restarting itself and when i watch movies it fast fowards without touching and the aduio of the video is playing the end of the video."
