What's not so great: Way too much water on floor and very short cord!
I followed the recommendations of Consumer's Reports thinking that this would be a good replacement for my 1yr old dead Shark steam mop. Way wrong, when this thing starts making steam out comes the water, way too much. With most of the water on the floor in one sport the rest vanishes quickly and it's time to refill and start the wet process again. The cord is way-way too short. What a pain in the A** to use. Will probably go buy a Shark, even if it only lasts a year at least they work without making a mess.

What's great about it: good price, lightweight, easy to use, easy set up out of the box

I purchased this for my mom to use on her bathroom vinyl floor to mainly get up the hairspray buildup. I cleaned her floor with it the 1st 2 times. I read reviews on several other brands/models. None of them had great reviews but this one seemed to have the best reviews for the price. It was easy to use and seemed to do a decent job cleaning the floor. The floor wasn't "sticky" anymore. The steam was somewhat hot but I was expecting it to be really hot, which it didn't seem to be. It does leave the floor damp so be careful when walking on it. It did dry fairly quickly, though. Some of the reviews I read said it got better after the 3rd use. I am anxious to see if that is true for this one. I liked the fact that I took it out of the box and had it ready to go in 5 minutes. It was also able to get in the limited space around the toilet. I found it cheaper at another store but they were out of stock and when I went to Best Buy, they were more expensive but did a price match!

I purchased this steam cleaner after returning the Bissel green tea steam cleaner. This one steams great and the floors dry very quickly. The steam head is a bit bulky for maneuvering around corners and tight spaces but it is by far a better steam cleaner than the Bissel.

I purchased this steamer after seeing so many good reviews and have had problems with it since the beginning. The first time I used the steamer I never got it off the safety pad because it shot all the water out after turning it on and reaching steam temperature. I reviewed the instructions and called the Eureka customer support line, re-filled the steamer and again the water just blew out (hot) and was empty inside of 20 seconds. Eureka said they would call me back with a recall number and never did. I eventually got it to work a few times but it's inconsistent at best. Sometimes expelling hot water quickly and sometimes producing steam. Poor quality, poor customer service, save time and buy something else.

What's great about it: Competitively priced
What's not so great: Unreliable
After nine weeks of use, the heating element stopped working, rendering this machine completely useless. It did an adequate job cleaning the ceramic tile in our home, before it went kaput! It was puchased as a replacement for a Shark that lasted a little over a year. In hindsight, maybe the Shark was the better of the two. It was easier to use, did a great job of cleaning hard floors, and we got longer period of use out if it. The Shark was a bit more expensive, but in the long run, that's unimportant. I want something that works and lasts for a reasonable amount of time!
I would not recommend this product. If you decide to buy it, I only suggest you do as we did...buy the extended warranty!

What's not so great: Nothing that i've found yet.
So far it's cleaned my hardwood floors without leaving a film and has removed spots on the floor that previously had to be scrubbed. It was cheaper than a Sharky that my wife had previously bought and out performs it by a mile. Quality materials in the build means this should last me for a long time.

I read a ton of online reviews before making this purchase. I suppose my expectations were just too high based on all the great reviews. I am giving 2 stars because it DID clean the floors - but no better than any other method such as a mop or a swiffer. My house is entirely ceramic tile and I was hoping that this machine would help clean up some of the stubborn spots and the grout. I wasn't expecting a miracle with the grout but I thought I would see some type of improvement. Sadly, not the case. I am returning this as I can clean my floors with cheaper methods.
There are NO frills with this unit. It comes with two cleaning pads and that's it. No attachments. No glide for carpets. No steam settings. Just an on/off switch.
I do plan on purchasing a more expensive canister unit that has the floor pad but also all of the attachments to clean everything in the house. Hopefullly, I will have a beter outcome!

What's great about it: Leaves floor SUPER clean
What's not so great: Flimsy handle, doesn't have attachments
First, the positives: the steam mop did its job and did it well. I used it on linoleum and tile and both floors looked and felt extremely clean. I also like how the pads are both reversible and washable. It is very easy to use and the fill indicator light is a nice feature. It heats fast and hot, making cleaning a breeze. My mom has one of the shark models, and she keeps borrowing mine because of how much cleaner her wooden floors are with it. The water tank lasts long enough for me to finish both my kitchen and bathroom in one shot (bathroom is tiny, kitchen is larger-than-average apartment size).
However...
The mop itself is a little unwieldy due to the water tank being at the mop's head and the handle being very thin and flimsy. Also, there is no sign of when the mop is ready other than the obvious steam coming from the head. Also, I haven't figured out a way (I haven't exactly tried very hard yet) to empty the extra water other than to let it sit on its rest pad and steam itself out. Also, there are no attachments for corners or for upholstery (which is why mom bought the shark).
Overall, still one of the better steam mops out there; just wish they would come down in price and up and value, but then again, don't we all.

Its quality and performance are far better than those cheaper models believe me. For the first time in 4 years my sisterinlaw (who's allergic to cats) spent the whole weekend and didn't have any allergy issues...we normally do the whole house clean before she comes as we did before she came this time, but I cleaned the floors with this machine...could'nt believe the dirt it removed and it literally gave my whole house a very fresh clean smell ( if I can describe it as such) I am convinced that this machine made the difference in her allergies not acting up as usual.
I highly recommend this as a must purchase item if you want your

What's not so great: Heavy..........Think Mits that are included- could be a little better quality
Sturdy build......Cleans pretty well. The mits that are included seem to be kind of thin. You have to scrub back and forth sometimes for it to pick up set in stains. ( I use on real harwood floors)The unit itself is kind of heavy....My Shark vac died and this was purchased as a replacement.

What's great about it: Does what it claims.
What's not so great: Not ideal for using over a large area.
First let's start out with what this machine is good at. It's good at being fairly priced. It's good at loosening dirt and juice and such off hard-surface floors without the use of any soap or cleaning agents other than water.
But beyond that... it's cumbersome and difficult to maneuver. It doesn't get very close to edges. And while it is excellent at loosening dirt, juice, etc from the floor, not all of it will stick to the cloth. In short... this is more of a spot cleaning device than it is something that will replace your mop.

First off lets take in consideration this product cost $79.99, to expect the quality of a $200 unit is rediculous. I wasnt sure what to expect but i was pleased with the end results. Set up was very easy, three parts to put together. I like that the cleaning pads on this unit clip on, where on other units they use elastics. When i first filled the tank it leak in one spot, but stopped the rest of the day; maybe i spilled some water. This cleaner does wonders with just water, no chemicals, no streaks, just a clean smelling and feeling floor. There where no water puddles, it dried in about 10 seconds. The unit was ready to go in about 3 minutes. When i refilled the tank after cleaning for 15 minutes, it only took about 45 seconds to heat back up. And it gets hot, the steam works great. The only complaint i would have is the power cable is way to short, but that is an easy fix. Unit works great, now lets see how long it works. But at 79 dollars im not expecting to much.

When I first began using this, it was fantastic. I no longer had to strain myself to scrub. The steam really did get the grime up on its own, even dried jelly. I move pretty slow anyways, being pregnant, so it was an acceptable speed for this mop. If I began to notice streaks, it meant it was time to change/clean the cloth. I used it on my tile floors and since I don't have a lot of build up in the grout, it was able to pick up my children's dried spills, even in the grout.
HOWEVER... in less than 2 months, the heating element no longer worked. I was not getting any steam. I now have a heavy Swiffer mop, which is about useless. I did purchase the protection plan, but I feel like I shouldn't have to put up with such a quick turnover. I am looking into other models to replace this with.

After utilizing two previous SHARK mops, I went after and purchased this product due to frustration from previous mops as well as how it excelled from a consumer test which was showcased in the local news. From the get-go this product made a difference. From the quick assemble, to the level of heat it produces, from how it easy it maneuvers to the position of the power cord which does not bother one when one mops; this mop is indeed satisfactory. Within minutes it heats up (one stroke gets rid of most of my stains and spills) and with its wide head, it makes mopping easy and smooth. The only downside is it comes with only two mop towels, but they are machine washable. Other than that, its a win.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I agree with all the positive reviews for this steam mop. It was super easy to use it the first time and every time. The product is simple yet very useful. It is light weight and cleans better. You will save time with this. It is so SIMPLE to use that I am even thinking of delegating this chore to my 11-yr old. He seems to love it already.
Considering how much hassel is involved with traditional mopping with buckets of water...this thing is a breeze. You clamp the pad at the bottom, pour some water in the tank and turn on the switch. Once you see the steam coming out, you move it like a vaccuum. If you need to clean some tough stains, you leave the mop in that spot for 10-15 seconds. Over a period of time, you will see clear results. It has helped us clean our light color ceramic tiles which now show its true color. I have not yet used it on the hardwood floor although it is supposed to work on waxed/sealed floors.
Other than the cleaning pads to be washed periodically, nothing needs "maintenance". I would recommend this to anyone who still uses "old" way of mopping the floors.

I would rarely say that any products change your life. But this Eureka EnviroSteamer has simplifed cleaning so much, it's changed my life.A few comments about using the steamer:
1. I agree with some users that the cord might be short if you have a large area. I have a small house and the cord worked for most of my rooms. I just need to unplug and re-plug as I move into a new room.
2. It does take about 3-4 minutes to heat up. But you know it is ready because it starts making steam sounds (similar to boiling water in a tea pot without the whistle). If you need to unplug and move to another room and then re-plug it in, it only takes about 30 seconds to a minute to re-heat up to the steaming level.
3. No special cleaning chemicals and no buckets - you gotta love it!
4. The cleaning pads shrunk a tiny bit after machine washed, but they still fit the steamer. Don't put the cleaning pads in the dryer.

What's not so great: Nothing except wanted water container to be larger.
Works very nicely and does a great job cleaning my tile floors. As I have read from others it does not really clean the grout, but it seemed to bring the dirt to the surface and after cleaning I took an old toothbrush to the grout and then wiped with a sponge and it really got the grout clean too. This might have been because in some places where I did this the grout was really dirty, and in the other places where it was not so dirty the steam cleaner did a great job on the grout. Easy to use. Wish the water reservoir was larger cause almost my whole house is tile. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this to others!

Do not buy this. Cleaning pads do not come clean after being washed, leaves water streaks, moderate soil requires hevy scrubbing, constant refilling of resivoir, fell apart after 3 mos. of use. Best buy wont offer an exchange if I pay for something of greater price. After vaccuming floor, particles on tile and hardwood are pushed into grout lines making them look dirty.

I was skeptical whether this would work well or not, but now that I've used it I'm glad I bought it. It cleans floors well, including marble floors. Regular mops and cleaning solutions always left a hazy smear on my marble floors, this steam mop does not. Plus it's easy to use and maneuver.
