"So far I have been happy with the printer. We got a great price, the $50 towards a Kodak printer by recycling an old printer. I have been annoyed by Hp printers as they do not last long and you spend a small fortune on ink. I find myself needing pictures for my kids, for school this or that... the picture printing is Awesome! The ink is affordable ($22 for the entire set -black/color).... vs my old printer $35 for each!! The wifi is simply perfect since we have a laptop in the house and a wifi network. Printing to it from anywhere is pretty darn cool."

"I purchased this printer when I was in Best Buy yesterday. I was looking for a replacement for my HP which had given me years of service but now was becoming a nuisance with constant paper jams. I was amazed that only two manufacturers had front feed and eject zones for the paper. They were the HP and this Kodak. Since I have limited space for a printer and it must go on a pull out tray, I am somewhat limited as to what can be purchased. This unit was within the confines of that space, large enough for all purposes and small enough for this space. While I was looking at this product with a Best Buy rep the Kodak rep came over and stated that there was a $50 discount for bringing in my old printer. Calling my wife I immediately said "why not". I purchased it and brought it home and set it up. It was easy to set up for my Mac Pro and it went right to work. It is a nice, functional, sleek looking unit with easy to read displays and lights. A side note that the rep stated that this unit had earlier problems with the print head but that had been corrected. She gave me an extra one just in case. Overall I am pleased with it."
What's great about it: i bought this printer for an unbeatable price and it it so simple to use and great pictures! What's not so great: I can't think of anything I dont like about this product-it's been good to me

What's great about it: Setup was extremely easy, easy to use. Ink is cheap compared to others. Works great. What's not so great: Nothing so far.
"I bought 3 of these printers at Christmas time (Best Buy old printer $50 trade in program) for myself, grand daughter and girl friend. I was a little worried that the wireless setup could be a pain even though I am a retired engineer and recently retired PC Software support person. Fortunately it was a snap for all 3 printers. Really didn't read instructions very much. It was quite intuitive, IMHO. Tell the printer to connect wirelessly, it finds the network/s (if more than one select your network) and if your network is password protected (SHOULD BE!!) type in the password. Then install software on PC, tell it is wirelessly connected, it finds it and connects with no problem. So far I would have to say it is a great product. My 12 year old grand daughter was using it before I even installed it on PC (as a copier and scanner) with NO instructions from me (I don't think she read any instructions either). Printing wirelessly is faultless and supplies are cheap and I like that Kodak photo paper is coded for reading by printer, paper may cost a little more(check Sams Club though) but so what, will save money by having good photos the first time and save frustration. Plus the Kodak ink is different than others and seems to be resistant to smearing, etc. So far, so good. Definitely recommend this printer!!!"

What's great about it: Supposed to pay for itself in cheaper ink prices. What's not so great: Bad print head out of box, kinda loud.
"I really wanted this to be a great printer. Setup instructions didn't really match what I had, so had to be extra careful. During install, paper was required to calibrate and I put 3 sheets in the printer. It didn't even recognize them. Finally put a stack in, and it told me I had an error, but only gave a code, not description. Eventually got it working, ran calibration, black print head was not working properly. Tried clean printhead option, still didn't work. Looked at head, it had black ink all over the print head. Packed it up for return, disappointed. No second chance for Kodak. Next try will be better-rated PIXMA and Canon's expensive inks <sigh>. Sorry, Kodak. I so wanted it to work out :-("

"I wouldn't recommend a Kodak printer to anyone! I've had to replace this twice in less than a year and Kodak won't even stand behind it. They want to give me a refurbished printer. If it wasn't for Best Buy's great extended warranty I would have a rebuilt printer. I have nothing against refurbished products but not when you pay for new items. I had to pull out a 10 year old Epson to print on decorative paper because the Kodak won't recognize the paper. Both constantly jammed and had error reports, they quit recognizing their own black ink and I have to open it every time I start it up and pull the black cartridge out & then put it back in to get it to work. The second one just quit working due to an error code just like the first one. What are the odds 2 of the same printer gotten 6 months apart would have the same problems, I wouldn't take those odds unless it was a Kodak."

"The main purpose for this purchase was wireless printing from my laptop. The initial setup went smoothly, but within a week, the printer was unaccessible from the laptop. Spent hours on the phone with tech support to no avail. I even have to reset it when printing from my desktop, which is attached via USB. The printer goes through ink cartridges at an unacceptable rate - and the print speed is painfully slow. It is alo very loud. I consider myself a technical user and this printer has truly tested my patience."
This is one of the best printers I have purchased for home or ofice. The printer was easy to set up including the wireless comunication to my laptop. Now I can print anywhere in the house on my secure network. Ink last a long time with even a lot of picture printing. Refill on ink is also reanonable. I would recommend this printer to anyone."

"Installed the software in my wife's iMac; works just as advertised.
Installed in my Windows Vista laptop - couldn't print or scan. Made 4 phone calls to customer support (India). One fix was at the printer (tech call 1). Other fix was to delete and reinstall the software (tech call 2). Reinstall failed, tech call 3 resolved issue. Still couldn't scan from the laptop. Tech call 4 resulted in delete/reinstall software. Reinstall failed. Returned the printer.

"This is a great printer. Easy to set up and use. Has a dedicated photo paper tray and makes great prints. The warm up time for it to print is a little long and it is louder than I expected it to be, but other than that it is perfect. It has a small screen with a menu so you don't need the computer to print from a sd card. The screen also shows ink levels and other info. All in all perfect printer for me. Very pleased."

"After reading some reviews I thought I would like this printer and I also had a recommendation from a guy I work with to get this one.
I had some issues getting it setup. I set it up wirelessly with my desktop and laptop, it took a whole 5 or 10 minutes or so with no problems what so ever. But when trying to setup my laptop the software could not find the printer, so I coudlnt get it to finish the setup. I spent about 3 or so hours in an online chat with Kodak trying to finish the setup with no success. The last guy said I needed to do advance troubleshooting and to call tech support. So I did that and of course you couldnt barely understand the person because they barely speak English so I jsut hung up. I ended up going through the add printer wizard and got it setup on my own.
Other than that I havent had any problems. I've printer a number of pictures and the quality is excellent. I do recommend to use at least the premium photo paper for big pictures. I use the Ultra since the paper is thicker and it holds the amount of ink better for photos.
It's kinda noisy and slow but I think thats just because its a inkjet printer and not a laser printer. I dont think its any louder than a typical inkjet pritner so its not that big of a deal for me.
Between the good quality and the cheaper cartridge replacements I can deal with the minor cons I listed. But if I had to do it over again I would probably find a laser printer with the same benefits, so for that reason I'm going to say that I dont recommend this pritner."

"Despite the bad reviews, took a chance and bought this printer since it was on sale for $74.99 (reg. $199). It was easy to set up and it worked ok for a few weeks, then the hassles started.
Problems: - one day last week, although printer detected network router, pcs could no longer print from it (printer not responding message or couldn't even detect printer); but could print with usb cable connected to pc - home center program wouldn't open - couldn't even reinstall it from cd or from online download - couldn't even uninstall the home center software using windows add/remove - online chat suggested using the Clear Utility for Kodak Software from www.kodak.com/go/clear but that didn't work either (framework window stalls uninstall) - talked with tech support (in India) for over 2 hrs doing all sorts of uninstall/install of various windows components including .NET framework 2.0 using different clean up utilities including one from Aaron Stebner's website - tech support seem knowledgeable and friendly but too bad the home center software still wouldn't reinstall (seems to suck up all the cpu and stalls)
When the printer did work initially, - photo printing was decent - 2-sided printing and separate tray for photo paper were nice features - regular document printing was average (not really vivid). - it was noisy and clunky - sometimes printed normal when specified draft
But wasted too much time on this printer, so returned it."

"At first when I got this printer, I was very excited! For the first month, we used this printer wirelessly, and everything worked as it should, we were happy. After the first month, we noticed that the colors were a little off, so we figured that we would replace the print cartridges. That did not do ANYTHING. We called support, and they had us do maintenance, which wasted half of an ink cartridge! To make it even better, "Printer not found" comes up on our computers all of the time, something is now wrong with the wireless. Talk about a disaster! So now when it does decide to print, it prints without the color blue, excellent, let me tell you. If you see this printer in the store, RUN, don't even THINK about buying it.. it looks cool, but it is truely HORRIBLE."

"I am not sure why all the bad reviews.... $199 list price, - $50 Trade-In, - $75 off (on sale)= $75 total, then I added on 1 black refill, & 1 color refill, all for $100; The ink refill alone on my old HP 1100 MFC was $57... So, for an added $43, I have a new printer with 2 trays, 5X7/4X6 photo tray, Auto-Duplexing, Wireless or wired network connection, 7in1 media card reader, a USB port on the front, and 2 extra ink refills!!!! 4X6 Photos take about 20 to 30 seconds, about 10X faster than my old HP MFC. Printed 30 4X6 photos, and there is still ink left in the ink carts that came with the unit (tose are 1/8 the ink of an actual refill."

"So far i am happy with this printer. Took me less than five minutes to connect to my network. Print quality on photo paper is excellent. The most recent models have a new printer head so there is no cleaning problem. It is a little loud but not a big bother. Price just went up to 199.99, i paid 74.99. Sale price 124.99 minus 50.00 rebate."
