What's great about it: Long life, great price, remote
What's not so great: Didn't always read DVDs right away.
Originally I got this product through a drawing at work, and that was 3.5 years ago.
Since then, I've used this product nearly every night and often I would leave it running for some weeks on end. I've never had an issue with it and have been completely satisfied.
It only just now stopped working and for as much as I used it and how long it lasted, frankly I'm amazed.
The only problems I had sprang up in the last month of its life, and that issue would be it wouldn't play DVDs unless the machine was turned upside down, but it still functioned for a few more weeks.
Overall, wonderful product. Hardly any issues. I would definitely recommend.

What's not so great: only later 2 months!
I purchased this Sony DVD player...BIG MISTAKE!! here it is 2 months later and it will no longer work. I have owned many Sony products in the past and had great success, but they really dropped the ball on this piece of junk!

I got this as a backup machine while my DVD player was being repaired. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality. It was easy to set up, instructions were clear. Good machine.

What's not so great: It takes a little while for the tray to come out.
If you just need a dvd player to watch your movies on this is a good deal. When I bought it I paid under $50 and also got two dvds with it.

What's great about it: It has a very high picture quality and is small and compact.
What's not so great: Takes a while running through the different formats and doesn't include them all.
Like most Sony products this is a reliable piece of equipment at an affordable price. This player has some really great qualities. It plays many, but not all formats and a beautiful picture quality.

I just recently ordered this DVD player and debating about buying it because I first saw it on the Target website for $10 more than what i got it for from best buy. The DVD player is easy to set up and easy to use. I love the fact that the remote comes with batteries already. Im having a housewarming and I have been hinting for my friends to get me another one for my living room :)

I purchased 2 of these DVD players for our home and we are very pleased. Great value for basic qualities. We did not need anything fancy as most of our movies are downloaded from the iPad. These were perfect.

This DVD player is great! The picture quality is perfect, it was super easy to set up and is small enough to fit on my small TV stand without taking up too much space. My old DVD player wouldn't let me have my DVD player and my satellite box hooked up at the same time. This DVD player has the write cables so that I can keep my satellite box hooked up to my TV and the DVD player hooked up at the same time so I don't have to get up out of bed to change from TV to DVD or vise versa. The only negative remark I have is that figuring out how to change the picture to fill the entire TV is kind of frustrating! Again, another great product by Sony!

What's great about it: It is a nice compact DVD player
What's not so great: The spec is incorrect for it's capabilities.
If you desire to run a (coaxial) cable input into the TV and use the DVD player as a converter from coax to RCA component plugs, this system will not complete the conversion for you. If does allow you to output a coax signal on a single RCA connector. Did not meet my need but I'm sure the DVD part would be fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
