The tv that we just replaced had great sound and it could be adjusted. The sound on this tv is not loud enough and we aren't hard of hearing. We've only had the tv a week and we've been making jokes about turning the sound up because we can't turn it up. Having said all of that, I was told today that I might be able to adjust the sound using the remote to the cable box and it worked. The sound is now loud enough that we are having to turn it down. I adjusted the remote tonight and much to my surprise, we now have decent audio. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on a home theater so by adjusting the remote we saved some money. We aren't a 100% satisfied with the audio but it is now acceptable. The picture on the tv is awesome and it makes up for the poor audio.
What's great about it: Picture is wonderful, especially the clarity.
What's not so great: I was very disappointed in the sound.

We love this tv. Excellent picture. Make sure you get HDTV from your cable/satellite provider to get the best quality picture. This is a great value as we paid $2000 for a floor model just one year ago. Excellent price now.
What's great about it: Great picture. Easy to use.

If you have a surround sound, then you're great with this TV. The sound on the TV sucks, but we have a great suround sound. It's slow to start up and switch channels too, but I can deal with that for the picture quality. This is by far the best TV we've had so far. We would buy another and are thinking of a smaller one for the bedroom.

First - I had the 46" but exchanged it for the 52" (plus the price difference).
A good TV but the black level stinks (LCD is known to have low black level). Maybe the TV needs to be calibrated by a professional but who wants or really needs that. At this price level it's probably a waste. The problem may be that I own a Sony XBR Wega, that TV has an incredible black level, HD material and upconverted material look awesome. But then again I paid a lot more for the Sony than I did for this Sharp. For the price of this Sharp (plus it was $300 off the already low regular price ), the fact that you get a free Blu-Ray player (a $300 value) that means you're getting a 600 dollar discount, that's incredible. My Wii looks super on this TV! The picture is huge! ( not a 65" but hey) Bottom line, good TV for a good price, with tons of inputs."
What's great about it: Great picture
What's not so great: Black Level

This is a excellent tv. I too was also able to get it on sale for $1300. The picture quality is incredible. The picture quality on regular digital cable is not to good so you will have to have hd with tv to have a good picture. I watch blu ray movies on it and it is absolutely crystal clear and by far one of the best pictures i have ever watched a movie on.
The only problem i have had with this tvs audio hasnt worked. I called sharp and there customer service has been rude and gave me the run around. Kinda frustrating when you buy a tv and straight out of the box the audio doesnt work. I have been able to hook my audio up to my surround sound and use the tv for the pictures. If the audio was working i would give this five stars but with the audio difficulties and customer service id have to give it a three and a half to a four star tv.
What's great about it: Easy setup, awesome picture
What's not so great: audio problems out of box, sharp customer service

The Good:
After returning my previous 46' sharp LCD I bought recently I picked this one up for only 1300. First thing I noticed Is the colors are very bright and life like, also for being such a big tv its very light in weight which is good. Something very unique is the remote control has a button that lights up the whole controller if your in the dark also the ability to program your four favorite channels in the remote is handy in times. The built-in speakers are good and very loud even sitting acroos the room I can hear them fine, the simulated surroud sound is also a nice touch for those not looking into spending some extra cash on a surroud sound system.
The Bad:
Even though this tv has plenty of HDMI and HD inputs I'm not a fan of the side inputs, I'd much rather have all my inputs in the rear so I dont have to see wires going to the side of the tv. The preset settings for the color management aren't the best, usually they have a game mode, movie mode, etc. This tv only has three settings so I had to manually adjust the color and everything to what I liked. My last small complaint is since the tv is all black it seems to collect a lot of dust espically the base, but I've read that seems to be a normal thing for any LCD.
What's great about it: Picture Quality is jaw dropping and sound is very good.
What's not so great: Side mounted inputs and only three settings for color management.
