I'm sure it's a fine TX, but, as an open box item, it proved to be defective and was returned to Best Buy for full credit. It had 3 HDMI inputs---none of them worked, and the picture got progressively darker the one evening that we watched it before it was returned.
Best Uses: Casual User (mostly watch TV shows)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don't have alot of experience with lcd tvs, this is my first. I though it looked great at the store. It has a lot of adjustments available, but I think some have more. It has enough for me.
I bought it cause its supposed to be a better picture/higher quality then some of the smaller lower priced models like dynex, visio...
I don't really know if its better then them or not, but the blu rays look great to me. I don't use the tv speakers, have it hooked to LG blu ray/receiver combo, and xbox 360. Its actually a bit to big for my room, I'm too close to it for gaming, you see to many small details you weren't supposed to see.but movies are awesome.

The picture looks great as long as nothing moved. It was impossible to play games on it though because the blur would give me a headache.
What's great about it: Great picture when there's no movement
What's not so great: Awful motion blur is very noticable while watching sports or playing video games

We bought this TV for the living area. We loved it so much we bought another onr for the bedroom. The speakers are in the front of the tv so you dont have to turn the tv up really loud.
What's great about it: The speakers are in the front of the TV
What's not so great: Its not bigger lol

I was kind of nervous about buying this TV, pretty much because the price was so low, and we all know we get what we pay for. However, I was suprised at what a real bargain this TV was. Setup was simple, I use it for my TV, computer and Xbox 360. The picture is clear, the sound is pretty good and I'm glad I took a chance on this one. If you are on a budget like me, and you can afford this one, GET IT. It's GREAT.
What's great about it: 2 RBG inputs, 3 HDMI, PC and Standard cable input. Adjustable aspect ratio.
What's not so great: Needs a better remote. This one doesn't have very good range.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After 2 other LCD purchases that were quickly returned I saw this one in the paper that was in the price range that we wanted to pay w/ a known name brand. The last one we had couldn't be connected to my Home Theater System nor could we program our cable remote to work with the TV but worse yet was that the remote for that TV absolutely did not work 99% of the time.
So you can image my excitement when all of the above issues were immediately resolved with this purchase. Only took a few minutes to setup and connect to other equipment.
The picture is great out of the box, sound is great and the remote is very responsive. We could also program our cable remote to this TV!!!
We're keeping this one!
What's great about it: Easy setup, great sound, good price!

This is my first HDTV and I have to say I love it! the picture is amazing especially for video games. The sound quality I think is very good for just tv speakers. I can turn it up loud enough to wake up my roommate upstarts. and all the different Inputs is great. I got more inputs than I can handle now and I got a lot of stuff. This s a great TV and I actually feel sorry for people that saw this TV and passed on it for one that was more expensive. and for what slightly darker black levels. Trust me save some money and buy this TV you wont regret it.
What's great about it: good price, lots of inputs, great picture
What's not so great: nothing

this is my first really nice television. i've seen others and this one takes the cake. the look is simple but clean and does not overtake the room. it looks nice in my home and the picture quality for gaming and hd is incredible. i would recommend this product to anyone looking out! also, i would recommend purchasing from best buy! especially the location i went to. the customer service there was all that i could ask. they actually found me a larger tv than i had originally wanted AND AT A CHEAPER PRICE THAN I WAS LOOKING TO SPEND. FOR A BIGGER TV. rave reviews, obviously! i was able to buy a nicer laptop than i was looking for as well and at the same time due to the saved loot!!! go toshiba for making the products and go best buy for selling them! amazing!
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: easy to see fingerprints but its not THAT big of a deal to wipe it down and care for it properly (:

I at first was not sure that I would have buy a Tv from Toshiba after reading some of their reviews, and I stated to the saleman and informed me that you can get a bad product from any company, so I bite and the price was excellent and I had no problem setting it up except for the dvd and when I call Toshiba technical support I was not able to get help, I called Bestbuy and they help me with setting up the dvd player. This not the first time that I have had a problem getting help from Toshiba so I recommend that if you buy a Toshiba product get it from Bestbuy and purchase the addition warranty I got the addition 4 years warranty for $99.
What's great about it: I find that everything is great about set, great picture, sound andeasy to set-up.
What's not so great: Getting tech support from Toshiba

I used the best buy.com in-store pick-up option which saved me time and made the purchase process smooth and easy. They had it waiting for me and I spent a total of about 10 minutes in the store.. After doing much research, I knew I wanted a 40in screen, and Toshiba has a great picture. The sale price was too good to pass up and it made a great gift for my husband for Valentine's Day!
What's great about it: great picture. this was the best value for the size of the screen.

we couldn't be happier with this TV. Works great with PS3 and Blu-Ray. HD cable is like being there at sporting events.
What's great about it: Much better TV all around than the $2000 Sony it replaced

I bought this TV for my bedroom which is a large bedroom. This TV is big and definately stands out. The picture is GREAT compared to my old TV. I agree with a previous review, the 120hz-240hz LCD makes it look to real for me. I did look at a 240hz LG but when the guy at Best Buy turned the 240hz setting on, it almost made me sick from watching it.. It does take away from the Cinema feel. I love this TV and would definately recommend it. The TV is easy to set up. I havent tried the Blu-ray yet, but plan to within the next week... I cant wait for it.
What's great about it: Easy to use, big display, custom preference for color balance
What's not so great: Sound could be a little better, but its definately good with the price

Great Price. In fact we bought it for less about 4 weeks ago. Easy to set up and great picture. We programmed the satelite remote to also turn the TV on. (Codes are in the book) Sound quality is great. Have an older Toshiba TV that is at least 15 years old (might be older) that still works great and has never had any problems. We are very happy with the Toshiba purchases. Also have a laptop!

THIS TELEVISION IS A GREAT DEAL FOR THE MONEY. THE PICTURE AND SOUND ARE EXCELLENT. HOWEVER, THE ONLY DRAWBACK THAT I EXPERIENCED IS THAT THE TV AND THE CABLE REMOTE DO NOT SYNCHRONIZE. ANOTHER WORDS, I CANNOT PUT ON THE TV WITH THE CABLE REMOTE AT THE TOUCH OF ONE BUTTON. I FIRST MUST PUT THE TV ON THEN TURN THE CABLE ON AND OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN FOR THE TV TO PLAY. ONCE THE TV IS ON, I AM TOTALLY SATISFIED WITH ITS PERFORMANCE.
What's great about it: GREAT PICTURE FOR THE MONEY
What's not so great: SET UP WITH CABLE REMOTE

I was kind of leary of Toshiba after being a huge Sony fan for so many years but I thought I'd check this one out because of the price. It looked pretty good in the store and knowing that they use coax cables there I knew it would look better at home. Right away my wife and I noticed that for the price the picture and colors were a little sharper than the lower model Sony and Samsung and it's cheaper which was a plus. The built in speakers sound great (tv's normally have 5-10 watt speakers so no tv is going to have amaizing sound without a surround dound system). At 60mhz and a 8ms responce time the picture is actually great and for video games and movies you can't beat it for the price. I actually like 60mhz tv's better because the picture doesn't look to "real". When you watch high def on a tv with 120 or 240mhz the picture looks like its too real and takes away from the cinematography which bugs me a lot but this one does just fine. My only gripe is that during dark movies it lightens the screen when using captioning but that's to be expected from any tv like this. All in all the Toshiba has been the best tv purchase I've made and with it's features, multiple unputs and outputs (and yes, the optical is an out which lets you hook it up to a surround sound system and the HDMI does audio and video instead of just video unlike most tv's for this price) 3 hdmi ports and VGA (for computers, and old xbox 360's) it's a steal at $650!
What's great about it: price, multiple inputs, features
What's not so great: Screen lightening when using captions

Let me start off my saying that we have really enjoyed this television, especially since purchasing a Blu-Ray. The picture is truly amazing. HOWEVER, six days after the one year warranty, the sound suddenly shot up to max volume and when shifting to different menus, it was appeared that everything was forced to the right. For example, max volume, very far right choice on a menu, etc. After calling the manufacturer, we were told we would have to pay a repairman to come out, but that Toshiba could not identify the problem. After the repairman came out, he said that it was the main board that would have to be replaced and that this was quite common in Toshiba. After a week, the office called to tell us what the estimate might be and the part with labor (including the price for the original visit) will cost us more than the television costs now. The repairman stated that you should always purchase the extended warranty on these televisions because they often go out and cost more to fix than to replace. Lesson learned.
What's great about it: Good picture, good price
What's not so great: Doesn't last long and costs more to fix than original price
