For the money, I don't think that you can find a better tv. It has plenty of inputs, a great picture and when watching sports you think it is a 120hz unit. The sound quality is lacking but in my opinion that is me just being a ltiile nit picky. Connect it to a good home theater system and sound problem solved. It is easy to set up so what more could anyone want?
What's great about it: Great price, easy set up, excellent picture
What's not so great: Not the best sound

This TV started out as great! We loved the picture for watching and gaming. The only thing is, it has a power save feature when you turn it on. After almost a year of owning it, with that feature enabled, it wouldn't turn on unless we repeatedly pushed the power button. Our warranty expired in December and now the TV wont turn on at all.
What's great about it: We loved the picture and features.
What's not so great: TV stopped turning on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This TV has an excellent Picture and the sound quality is pretty good as well.Checked alot of televisions out before I made my final purchase and for $997.00 this was my best value.Easy to set up and not a problem to operate.
What's great about it: Clarity is remarkable.Did my homework and this TV was excellent value at $997.00 at Best Buy

This product is GREAT!!! This is for all you people that want a top-notch tv and even great standard channels! GREAT TV, amazing HD,SD, and especially blu-ray movies!! This tv is beyond amazing!!!! Get it and you wont regret it. Ive had it for 2 months and even standard channels are very good. Sound, quality,detail, etc. look AWESOME! I hooked it up my PS3 watched The dark knight and Transformers and the quality was so good I thought i would go blind. GREAT TV!!!!
What's great about it: Price, amazing HD, even great 480i channels, sound

I bought the tv for $999.99 and spent the $150.00 on the protection plan, so under $1200.00 out the door. Best looking tv in store for that price. Took it home and had it set up in under 20 minutes. Settings are very easy to adjust. Had the HD cable and new PS3 hooked up about a week later and WOW, the picture is amazing on Hi-def, and still very good for standard def programs. No complaints at all about this unit. Sound is even good for our apartment, no surround sound needed.
What's great about it: Set up was very easy and quick. Picture looks great with HD Cable, PS3, and even standard def. cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this TV from Best Buy in store for about $1200.00 about 6 months ago. At that time, I did ALOT of research, and this was the best thing going for the money.
I am a systems engineer, and I sell allot of laptops, I personally use a Toshiba Laptop, and have been brand loyal for years. They make a great product, and they stand behind their products.
I have had no dead pixel issues, or any other type of issue with this T.V. I originally purchased it to use as a very large computer monitor, but the wife liked the picture on this TV compared to our other much more expensive HD tv in the living room - I will not mention brand names, but I said expensive, so just guess who it is :).
This TV has made me much more brand loyal. I thought I was getting a tremendous deal at $1200.00. For $1000.00 now, you CANNOT go wrong with this TV. Make sure you have plenty of Hi-Def sources.
At this price, I will be back to purchase another one soon - for the original intended purpose :).
What's great about it: Perfect Picture, very cheap, LOTS of HDMI ports, Easy to use
What's not so great: Can't complain about anything.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I did my homework before I bought our HDTV. I am very happy with my LCD Toshiba. HD is a must have for the 360, it makes all the difference in the world. I actually got the 46in not 40in model and it's a perfect size for our medium-sized living room. We run the audio through a receiver but the few times that we've used the TV's speakers they have been good enough.
HDTVs are kinda pricey but if you use it for gaming it's a must.

What's great about it: Quality all around! The picture is great, the sound is good enough and the remote makes sense.
What's not so great: It doesn't give back massages but that's about it!

I bought this TV a couple months ago for the MAN CAVE that I just finished building in my basement and I have been very pleased with the quality and value of this product. I wanted a little more bang so I added a 1200 watt home theater system. IT ROCKS! My wife was starting to take over my space because she enjoys it as much as I do so I just ordered another exact matching TV for the family room. I purchased my first Toshiba TV back in the early 1990's then purchased two more portables for the bedrooms a few years later. Last year I purchased a 17" Toshiba Laptop Computer. I have not had a single issue with any of the Toshiba products I have owned. I say "BUY IT".
What's great about it: Great picture and value

This TV really kicks, before I bought it I came to read this same reviews!! I bought it about 7 months ago and I just can't believe how the picture looks on this TV. I have my cable connected to it with an HDMI and my high def channels look perfect, picture is crystal clear and colors are incredible. I like the way they actually made the menu in thsi TV, it's not complicated to navigate and it's easy to scroll through the options and make changes. I agree about the sound not been the best but I have not seen a flat TV with good sound, this TV's are made to have a sorround system, but for me the sound is good even by not having a sorround system.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate menu, excellent price
What's not so great: I have not find anything wrong.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Toshiba 42RV530U 42" LCD is my second HD TV. It replaced a four year old Panasonic 37" Plasma that had just gotten too old and was only 720p. Making the upgrade to this beautiful TV was amazing! The picture is clear, sharp, and mostly accurately colored. 4 HDMI inputs is very useful since I have a DVD player, stereo system, and game console that all need an HDMI jack. The bezel on this TV is very narrow, giving the TV a sleek, modern look that is accentuated by the piano, gloss-black finish. The controls are easy to use, and the menu makes a lot of sense when navigating. One feature that I especially like is the ability to change input without hitting a button repeatedly. You can change input by selecting the input menu, and then scrolling through the options. This can be done with two operations in about a second. Another feature I really like is the clarity of connection when plugging my laptop into the TV and using it as a monitor at full 1080p resolution (I use a DVI-HDMI cable). The picture is clear, sharp, and allows me to play games with zero lag.
If you're on a budget and don't care about 120hz processing, you cannot go wrong with this TV!

My one quibble with this TV is that it takes a little while to start up. Maybe 5-6 second. Not really a complaint, but worth mentioning.
And to those of you knocking the sound, you cannot expect a flat panel TV to have excellent sound. Spend the $300 for a stereo system (even less for a 2.1 system). No flat panel has good sound quality, I don't care how much you pay.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this beauty about 4 months ago and couldn't be more pleased. The setup was very easy and fast. Didn't spend more than 15 minutes in total.
The quality of the picture more than outweighed the modest price for Toshiba quality. I have this TV set up in a sitting room at about 10 feet of distance and the picture is extremely sharp.
What's great about it: Outstanding Picture, Very Good Sound
What's not so great: None at this time

finally decided to bite the bullet and join the HDTV nation...and shopped around for about a month before finally deciding on the Toshiba Regza. Have been absolutely happy since! The pic quality is amazing on everything from blue-ray movies to crazy PS3 and Wii gaming! I wouldn't even think twice about recommending this product...and the magnolia home theater people have been of wonderful assistance!!!
What's great about it: excellent picture, great interaction with theater

My wife and I purchased this TV for our living room and hung it on the wall with the help of a friend. It was easy to install and the picture lookes great! Great depth even in low light. We ended up paying about $1050 for it. I've had friends over that have Sony's and LG's and they said it looks awesome. They are all surprised at the price. With our surround sound we are renting more dvd's and not going out to the movies as much. A Great product at an affordable price!
What's great about it: 3 HDMI inputs, PC input, Digital Audio out and a Great picture!

I bought this TV specifically for gaming and watching blu-ray movies (both via a true 1080p signal). It is hooked up to a sound system...as the speakers provided on the TV itself are really only adequate for voice. Having said that, if you have a sound system, then this TV is well worth buying as the picture quality is on par with the best LCD TVs out there. I haven't noticed any pixellation issues with fast-moving objects onscreen...picture remains tight during action sequences and keeps up with gaming imagery.
What's great about it: Great gaming TV! Bright Picture
What's not so great: Not enough Video tuning controls, Sound only adequate

I bought this TV two months ago because of it's attractive price and have been very impressed with the high quality of this television. I have compared the picture quality (black levels; contrast ratio, etc.) to other, higher priced televisions, and believe that this competes in all aspects to its higher priced competitors. Oh and the 1080P resolution is outstanding when connected to HD Cable or BluRay player.
What's great about it: Great picture, awesome features and numberous inputs for all your toys!
What's not so great: Sound quality could be improved, but what do you expect with an LCD?

The tv was very easy to set up and the menu pages are easy to navigate. The picture did not need any adjustment out of the box, although we did have to adjust the wide screen option which is also easy to set up as it has its own button on the remote. there is a section in the menu pages that leads me to believe there is a surround sound system made specifically to link to the tv...I have yet to find it. This has been a really great buy for my family and we enjoy the picture quality it provides.
What's great about it: Easy set up
What's not so great: none that we have found yet

I bought this tv so I could watch 'watch it now' netflix and dvds from my computer instead of buying a dvd and surround system, plus a tv. Hook up and instillation were easy and even gaming on it is great. Wish it had pnp so I could work on the computer and watch a tv show at the same time.

my gramdma recently bought this television and i'm only in high school and i had it set up and running in less than five minuets. it worked very well with her new surround sound system, her dvd player and satellite reciever. this tv is simple and has a wide range of settings to fit your exact style.
What's great about it: big, clear picture, very easy and quick to set up, easy to use with surround sound systems or media players
What's not so great: none
