Great buy...when it was $699! 11/27/2008

What's great about it: Great performance for music and video
What's not so great: Gets dirty easily...but only cosmetic

"First of all...there are THREE USB ports on this computer. The e-SATA port is also a USB 2 port so don't shy away from this product because of other reviews.

Overall, the quality, screen, performance, and burner are great. I use my primarily for work and music, but it has many other features that can be pricey on comparable machines. Try to find a deal because $850 is a little steep for this computer. Great buy and very reliable."

What's great about it: It has great perfomance, very reliable and looks great
What's not so great: Only 2 USB ports

"Its been a few weeks since i bought this laptop and so far its been great. Very fast, both online and when using a lot of programs. A lot of disk space, good cooling system and looks great. Obviously, its not designed to play games but can run most games fairly well. Haven't had a trouble with it so far. Overall, the best laptop for its price."

What's great about it: User friendly, fairly quick, great value, easy to start up and get going. Display is very sharp.
What's not so great: Keys leave fingerprints, but can be cleaned easily

"For business, I have used Toshiba's before, as well as Dell and HP laptops. This Toshiba, meets my expectation of being reliable, so far, and easy to use and get started with. It is definitely comparable with the HP that I use as well, so I would have no hestation recommending it."

"I would recommend the Toshiba. This is our 2nd one, and both are very good quality with centrino processers - for good speed in downloads. Memory on this one is also great. Speakers are great as well. You won't regret this one!"

What's great about it: price, light weight & the glossy keyboard
What's not so great: tha camera doesnt work clear when taking pictures from the laptop

What's great about it: Reasonable Price, great performance, sound quality, 5 in 1 card reader, and the keyboard gives good feel of touch
What's not so great: finger print, graphic processing ability

"I got this laptop as an exchange for a HP model on sale, which is broken on the first day of use. This one turned out to be much much better than the HP, at least based on the first week's performance.
Though the shining finish is a little annoying, the keyboard actually feels very good to use. The laptop gives much more solid performance than one could expect from a laptop under $900. Like my previous impression of Toshiba: it does not have any "eye-catching" specs or stylish appearance, but it is highly reliable.
I especially like the 5 in 1 card reader at the front side of it. I was worried about how to get my sony memory stick connected to my computer after my sony vaio died. The card reader on this toshiba is very easy to use.
Besides, it keeps relatively quiet and does NOT get intolerably heated after 10 hours of use.
Oh, and the sound quality! It makes you feel better even when watching a Youtube music video clip!
I think I made a good decision for the exchange, and BB even refunded me $150 (I got it a day before it went on sale)."

What's great about it: 64-bit Operating System, good graphics card for name brand PC
What's not so great: Only 2 USB drives, on the heavy side

"I just got this computer and it is a good buy for the money and Toshiba is a really good name. It's a little heavy, and only has 2 USB ports, but the 4GB of ram on the 64-bit OS makes up for that incovenience."

What's great about it: Great screen. Lightweight. harman/kardon speakers. Sleek look.
What's not so great: Integrated graphics card.

"This is my second Toshiba Satellite and I must say I love it. It's considered an ultraportable, and I can see why. It's so light! A lot lighter than the massive 17" I used to have. Best part is with its widescreen display it doesn't even matter that this one's only a 14.1". It's still a great machine for watching movies and TV shows on. And the speakers make it great for listening to music.

The only real drawback to this system is the graphics card. It is, by no stretch of the imagination, a gaming machine. It can play some of the less demanding games out there, but when you get into the heavily 3D games, forget it. Personally I bought this laptop for college so that really isn't much of a drawback, but still for those of you looking for a heavy-duty gaming system, this isn't it. But for just about everything else, it's great. The 250 GB HDD and the 4 GB of RAM don't hurt, either. All in all I'd say this system is a great purchase."

"Great computer, its very fast, good performance so far, its has a nice style finished, looks very nice. Speakers are awesome, good volume, even a little bass... Works very well. Something I really like about it is that it doesnt get hot because of the side fan that comes with it. Im very happy with my laptop."
