I cant express how awesome this series really is! I watched/borrowed this from a friend before and i loved it so much i had to get the blu-ray version. If you like "Saving Private Ryan" then you are sure to love this series.
This is my 2nd time to watch it and im sure there will be a 3rd or more in the future.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Comes in a metal box and contains the entire series
What's not so great: More expensive than regular TV series but would make a wondeful gift
I bought this for a gift over the holidays and my brother loved it!!! I asked about this series from several BB associates and they all said it was incredible and wouldn't disappoint. Based on their descriptions, all being so positive, I bought the BluRay set and it was very well received. War stories aren't my taste in show but from what I have read and heard about it, it's captured very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was a fantastic series and on Blu-Ray makes it that much better. The acting was great, cinematography fantastic, there were so many beautiful shots I didn't know where to look. Overall amazing series and I would recommend it to anyone who loves history or loves to watch something so beautiful.

I've watched the series at least 10 times over the years. I've watched during its original run on HBO, and during rebroadcasts.
I've watched it on SPIKE TV. I've also watched and recorded it on A&E.
But, I've just recently watched it for the very first time on Blu-Ray, and all I can say is "WOW"! Also, I coupled that with an HD TV.
This was the first Blu-Ray player I've ever owned, or watched for that matter. I bought it last week, and decided I wasn't walking out of Best Buy with out BoB.
As of now, this is the only BD I own. I'd gladly take suggestions on other movies or series to purchase.

P.S. If you haven't watched BoB in this format, I highly suggest it.

What's great about it: Excellent WW II Story, Great Blu-Ray PQ, Great Audio
This is absolutely one of the best Blu-Ray titles available and you get 6 discs, all contained in a great tin case. The video is amazing and will really show you what your TV can do, especially the black levels. It may not be that amazing, color-popping nature show but it is supposed to replicate wartime footage with a grainy and 'faded color' appearance, and that it does extremely well. If you watch this with at least a 5.1 sound system, prepare to be in for a treat. Band of Brothers utilizes surround sound technology better than any other movie/show I've ever seen. With the DTS Master HD audio you will hear bullets whizzing by and mortars detonating all around you. If you currently own the DVD set and have a Blu-Ray player, this is one that is without a doubt worth the upgrade from DVD to Blu!
I'm not going to go into how great the storyline is because more than likely if you are purchasing this, you've seen it before. If you have not seen it, just know it never gets old and has great rewatchability. It is a powerful and touching true story about a close knit group of soldiers and their involvement in the war, from training to D-Day right up until taking the Eagle's Nest.
For the price, you get almost 10 hours of WW II - you really can't go wrong. This is my favorite movie/series of all time and I highly recommend it to anyone.

i sure do love bluray, and this series on bluray is exceptional. im really into wartime movies and the such, and this is one of the best ive seen. no complaints here, worth every penny i spent on it.

"Band of Brothers, there is nothing like it, I am in the miltary right now, and it shows you how far we have become. these guys are the start and true meaning of a HERO, that should never be forgotton. They set the foundation. Blu-Ray just makes it that much clearer, standard def does no justice to the visuals of this series."

What's not so great: Nothing
If there ever was a mini series to own, this is it. Putting aside the plot and storyline and forgetting its based on a true story on the travels of Easy Company, overall the quality of the work stands above others. The action sequence, depth of detail, and the shooting of the video makes you feel like your there in person. If you liked the attention to detail and authenticity of Saving Private Ryan, then you should buy this. I can't say enough how much I enjoy this series other than to tell you I already had the DVD version, but when I seen the Blu-Ray on sale I had to get it. Its that good. Even the extras are worth watching. By far its one of the best purchases I have made when it comes to movies.

I feel like an idiot writing about Band Of Brothers. There is nothing I can say that had not been said already. This is a must have on Blu-Ray. It's on my top Ten List and I am confident most people feel the same way. Go get a copy and maybe your review might be more academic than mine.

Watched all the discs over a 14 hour period with my wife and we were both overwhelmed with the whole experience.

What's great about it: Directed by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, realistic storyline, great acting
What's not so great: I wished there were more episodes
To me this is my favorite series to come from HBO. It is just as good as Saving Private Ryan if not better. I really liked how it slowed down the war and really showed the hardships due to lack of supplies both medical and ammunition as well as harships due to weather, disease, and infection. This truly is a must have for anyone who has blu-ray and surround sound because the movie will truly suck you in and you won't want to stop until you are out of disks to play. Another thing that I really liked was the interviews with the REAL LIFE heroes of the series that start off each episode.

"Band of Brothers" is a completely amazing HBO miniseries produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. This miniseries has the same grittiness and action as "Saving Private Ryan" which makes it great. I enjoy how in "Saving Private Ryan" the airborne is mentioned and in "Band of Brothers" it's all about the U.S. Army 101st Airborne during the war. The idea of being able to understand another side of the story is both amazing and interesting. This miniseries is very entertaining and just dang good because there's both awesome action and great stories to tell. On Blu-ray "Band of Brothers" looks absolutely amazing and I generally highly recommend this HBO miniseries on either DVD or Blu-ray because you'll enjoy in which ever one you see it in.
I would recommend this to a friend!
