I guess it is difficult trying to find a good pair of headphones these days. Name brand really isn't the answer anymore like it used to be in the 80s and 90s. It used to be a time where a cheap pair of headphones sound better than a great pair of high end expensive speakers. I guess all the quality processors are being used in the war on terror-or something. I searched hi and low, willing to easily pay $350 or maybe a little more for a set of headphones that would put me in the middle of a band studio session or in the best seat of a live performance. What I got from all of the major brands? Lack of presence, clarity, sonic depth, separation, lifelike, and good tonal quality, something easily found almost a decade ago. I don't know, maybe the lack of quality in music today having their affect on the quality of products use to play them. I returned the Denon. Happy hunting all of you audiophiles.
What's great about it: It did work when I Pugged Them Into My Audio Source
What's not so great: Sound Quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The headphones sound amazing. The sound from these will blow out any bose pair you've ever had. The problem is that if anything ever goes wrong that you have to deal with one of denon's parts distributors who really don't carry any denon parts. They never call you back and when you do follow up the over paid telephone operators give you the same run around. Once you finally do get any parts ordered you have to wait 30-45 days for any part, no matter how insignificant to arrive from japan. The headphones are great, but i don't know if they're worth the hastle.
What's great about it: The sound is amazing
What's not so great: the customer service from denon and their distributors
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I owned a set of Bose QuietComfort2 noise-cancelling headphones for the past couple years. When the cable began to malfunction I needed to purchase a new set. I own a number of Denon audio components (have for years!), so I decided to give them a try. WOW!!! There is NO QUESTION THESE BABIES KILL THE BOSE PAIR!! Just the noise-cancel technology alone is MUCH better than the Bose. The audio capabilities are intense as well...very strong bass, midrange and high come thru very well with all genres of music. I travel a lot so the case size is important. Denon's case is half the size of the Bose case! I am sold 100% on what Denon produced here! BRAVO DENON!!!!
What's great about it: OUTSTANDING NOISE CANCEL TECHNOLOGY, AMAZING AUDIO, VERY COMFORTABLE!
I would recommend this to a friend!
