What's great about it: Picture, Software, Price.
What's not so great: Scan time, not to bad. About 4 to 5 seconds per scan.
I use this scanner to copy work documents on PDF file and transfer them to my mobile device. This scanner records very well. The software is also nice as I can crop and darken an old document if needed. The price is great for what this scanner does. I would highly recommend it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great quality photo scans when it actually works.
What's not so great: Almost impossible to get it working in the first place.
After opening the box today, I have spent more time trying to get this brand new scanner to work than I have actually spent scanning. Though it worked well for the first 3 picture scans it has become an absolute nightmare. I have done each of the troubleshooting steps multiple times in addition to uninstalling and reinstalling the software 3 times and I have been speaking the the unhelpful HP tech support for 1 1/2 hours. The scanner keeps stopping mid-scan and doesn't finish but rather causes error message to pop up and my computer to freeze. I will return this product immediately and do not recommend it to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Lid opens completely for photo album scans. One touch photo editing and restoration.
What's not so great: Nothing
Bought this scanner for a bucket full of photos from 20 years ago. Software is clear and easy to use. I am impressed that I can enhance, crop, restore photos very fast. Much faster than my 'all in one' HP officejet. This far exceeded my expectations.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Setup, price, size of scan area
What's not so great: typical HP software
First off scanner works well. Just be selective when installing the HP software - the default setting will install all kinds of extra and unneeded applications on your computer (typical HP protocol). Install using the advance option and install only the required pieces and you'll be fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!
