What's great about it: Good price
What's not so great: Poor set up booklet.
"Great little unit and does the job. The set up booklet was a little hard to follow and not put together very well. I also need a vent holder for the unit because of our state law. I checked BB and none were listed. After searching the Web I found a company called Arkon. The vent holder for this unit is listed as Arkon TTEP 129-ST.RVC. I have only had the unit for two days and so far it see all the streets in our small town. The best part of the unit is the speed read out. BB also offered a $10 gift card with this unit. I also ordered a AC charger which isn't really needed because the unit charges through my computer with the USB cable that came with the TOM TOM One 125. Great Buy."

What's not so great: directions
"I purchased this GPS because my other one had died while I was on vacation. I just wanted something that would get me where I was going.
It just says turn here. I would like to know where I need to turn. The street. I was not comfortable with them saying go up and make third time.
It also got me lost. As soon as I got home , I returned it with no problems."

What's great about it: Everything. Easy to use and very easy to set up. Great buy
What's not so great: Cant find one yet.
"I own a security company here in Tulsa, Oklahoma and i just purchased this GPS. I have only used it for two days know, and i love it. I havent found anything wrong with it yet. This was the best buy at any place that i have seen any GPS'S. I am very happy that i purchased this and i will continue to use TomTom. This is very user friendly and it's like and iphone for GPS. If your looking for a great GPS for a low price, get this one...."

What's great about it: Easy to use for first time GPS user. User Friendly, very easy to set up.
What's not so great: Major problem with updating to website, Crashed and no reset button.
"I loved the One 125 for the first time user. Very easy to use nothing hard to figure out to set up and start using. Maps are easy to read and voice commands are really great.
The Biggest problem came when I used the TomTom software update. I connected it to my computer by USB cable and something went wrong with the update. A file error occurred and did not update the device. The next thing I know is the the device did not boot up any longer. I contacted TomTom support and could not fix the problem and was sent back. Once I got the replacement the same thing happen again! Very disappointed with this system flaw. It does not have a reset button! Website support very limited. I could not download the operating system software to reload back onto the device.
So don't update device without backing it up first. Lesson learned."

What's great about it: Not many other units for the price
What's not so great: address locations are off
"locations can be off up to a quarter of a mile from where it tells you. rarely gives you the fastest route. was just testing the unit out driving to places that i know and know what could be the fastest way gave the directions to go out of my way and will not just tell you to turn around like other models."

"This is my first GPS device and it works just as well as my friends' TomTom XL Model at over twice the price I paid. Very easy to set up and start using right out of the box. No special tools or knowledge required. Internet connection for free updates and additional voices very easy using the supplied USB cable. I am very satisfied with this unit."

Good GPS Device for addresses prior to 2002

What's great about it: Easy set up, ready to go.
What's not so great: Does not see my home address and entire housing tract.
"Great device and easy to use. It has been great so far for using around town or just testing local addresses. The downfall is my house was built in 2002 and the entire housing tract is not able to be located even after updating the maps through TomTom, for now I have to use the nearest intersection. I even noticed that some local restaurants that were built after 2002 did not show up as well. I am still researching this to see if I can resolve the address issue. If not, I will have to return it until I find one that is able to locate my home address or addresses that are current and not out of date.
Overall I am satisfied with the unit except this flaw."

What's great about it: Simple and Easy to Use
What's not so great: Won't always turn on right away
"The TomTom One 125 is a great little GPS. One feature key feature that costs an additional $19.99 is the Gas Prices feature, this works great with the 125. I have no real complaints about this product. If anything I just wish they could have the live traffic and weather antenna be built into the unit rather than paying an additional $100 for it."

What's great about it: Takes you to the place you are supposed to go (sometimes)
What's not so great: Cant find lots of addresses, makes you take impractical turns, doesnt choose the fastest route
"My girlfriend bouth this about a month ago, its easy to set up but it takes a lot of time finding the satellite signal and hardly ever finds an address, I recomment that you spend some more money and get a better GPS device, Weve used other Tomtom devices without any trouble."

What's great about it: Plug N Play, High Value, Demo Mode, Great Compact Mount
What's not so great: Display Details
"I needed 3 units for teen daughters and wife, so I stuck with lower priced units and ended up with 2 Tom Tom ONE 125 models and one Magellan Roadmate 1200 ($109). No one in our family has ANY experience with GPS units. I ran both brands side by side and was very pleased with each unit in terms of accuracy and features. If you only need a basic unit either model should satisfy. Teenage daughters prefer Tom Tom and spouse prefers Magellan (I got lucky!). Tom Tom advantages are the demo mode and mounting system. Demo mode quickly shows the planned route in map format. The mounting system is extremely clever resulting in a very compact unit that is easily stowed when not in use. Downside of Tom Tom is use of mixed units (yards and miles) which is a bit clunky. Magellan features a bit more detail on the dispay screen like the compass and next manuever are always displayed, but the menu is less intuitive and the mount works well but it is LARGE."

What's great about it: Great turn-by-turn directions, directions can be heard clearly over the radio.
What's not so great: To use TomTom home you have to be connected to the net.
"I purchased this little device for myself and two of my family members for Christmas and have used it everyday since then. So far, every location that I program into this little device, I have arrived at with no problems.

The turn-by-turn voice directions are really accurate and clearly stated. The voice doesn't inform you of the road that you are taking, but it is clearly listed on the GPS screen.

Setup is really simple, haven't had any issues inputing addresses or finding points of interest. I can't see much of a reason to go with any other model of GPS when this one is cheap and very accurate.
+
There are numerous downloads available from the TomTom Home program, and a large number of them are completely free! I highly recommend this product, it has worked out great for me!"

What's not so great: The suction cup thing doesnt work when you want it too, and dont drive on bumpy roads.

What's great about it: Route planning and rerouting, picture on screen very clear.
What's not so great: My first GPS so I have no complants.
"This is the first GPS that I have ever owned. It was very easy to set up and is pretty much a cinch to use. I am not a computer geek so I am very impressed how easy it is to navigate and figure out the features. The voice commands are very loud and clear and can easily be heard over the radio. I would recommend this product to anybody just to stick on the windsheild and have fun."

"for the money (99 at best buy) you cant go wrong if you want an entry level GPS. only thing it doesnt do is test to speach for road names. But we are finding that is not worth double the price. It is very easy to follow and understand the directions."

"Exceeded expectations. It's exactly what I wanted at an affordable price. Installation was a breeze & it looks good. No extra wires to run, mounts with no tools. Very easy to learn how to use.
My Onstar system went obsolete last year (analog signal - no upgrade available). I got a "Dear John" letter from Onstar cancelling service and suggesting to buy a new GM vehicle! Their navigation service was an extra subscription cost (over $30/mo). Bye Onstar, it's been fun ..."

What's great about it: Low price works ok in urban environment.
What's not so great: Autozoom is a huge negative on this GPS. There is no way to turn it off and makes it difficult to use on long trips.
"Biggest, most negative feature is autozoom. There is no way to defeat it and this makes it very tedious to use for long trips. If TomTom would let the user turn this feature off, it would be much more useful. If all you are doing is driving around in a busy city, it works OK.
The routing feature works reasonably well, but is no great shakes. It plots routes using Interstate system OK, but is not so hot in rural settings. Since it does not take into account traffic it can vector you into areas that have the highest historical traffic jams. Still I would not ding a $130 GPS over this.
It does not display enough map detail to suit me. My old handheld GPS did a better job of this.
It is a very readble system and easy to use if the road is not too bumpy."
