What's great about it: Excellent card reader
I brought the card reader because my camera was out dated for my computer. It is easy to use and I was able to download my pics to computer

This product works fine, but I found the instructions for downloading the program to make it work a bit confusing. I finally figured it out. Maybe I'm just not savvy enough to use all of the features!

What's great about it: Size
What's not so great: Drivers cause computer problems, Non-removable front flap
This device seemed like the perfect little card reader that I needed. However, it is nothing short of a nightmare.
1) Does not automatically recognize newly inserted cards - you have to browse your computer to find them because the drivers circumvent the normal Windows feature to pop-up and ask what action should be taken.
2) The drivers cause a horrible delay upon startup. My computer's startup time jumped from 45 seconds to 6 minutes after installing these drivers. (Core i7 3.2 GHz Quad-Core so this is seriously concerning)
3) The drivers are constantly using up 10-12% of my available processing power when nothing is occurring and prevents the computer from going to sleep.
When you consider the above, this item is no bargain at all - I wish I had spent a few extra dollars for something better with trustworthy drivers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked great for the first few times I used it. And then sometimes it would read the card and sometimes it wouldn't. Now it just doesn't work at all. When it would work hit-n-miss you are scared that it's going to damage your card so that you will not be able to get the data off of it. When I went into Best Buy, this was the only brand offered. So I guess I will have to go on-line and do my shopping!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It worked fine for about 2 months.
Then I could not get it to work on any computer.
I tried several different cards, on 3 different PCs - but no computer could see anything in the reader.

I was looking for a quick, easy solution to give a netbook better access to pictures and this Dynex reader does the trick.

What's great about it: Does what it's supposed to do.
What's not so great: Doesn't do what it's supposed to do as easily as other products.
I bought this so that I could remove pics off of 4 memory cards that were full. I couldn't find my camera cord and the old reader had quit. This new reader wanted to format all of my memory cards before I could use the device. Fearing a loss of pics by formatting the cards before being able to remove the pics made me hesitate using it.
I found a Gear Head 23 in 1 card reader that is plug-n-play for half the price. I just plugged it in, stuck in a memory card and removed the pics.
I'm sure the Dynex works great, but it could (and should) have been a whole lot easier.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Immediately the unit installed and transferred my pictures from my Xd card. Went to use it the next day and it is slowing my computer down and will not detect card. Tried to deinstall program 3 times now - windows will not deinstall program. Dont know what to do.

Literally, I just plugged it in, inserted my media card (sony SD), and finally got to access old pics I had saved. This is a great solution to media card problems.

So far I have used my memory card reader to look at several photo card of various sizes and it has enabled me to download pictures so that they are not lost.

I am in LOVE with this little guy!! Our laptop died over the summer and my husband bought a new, without realizing it didn't have a card reader.....so for months I was uploading pics and videos the old fashioned way....directly from my camera through a USB. Needless to say THAT was awful! I picked this guy up on Christmas Eve to finish a photo project Christmas gift I had been working on and I have loved it ever since. It is simple to use, super easy to load on computer....basically plug it in and its good to go. It also has slots for like every card known to man right now. I can even put my little mini-SD from my phone in this reader...WITHOUT the stupid attachment for the SD card! LOVE IT!!!

What's great about it: It works.
What's not so great: A little pricey, but at Best Buy all of these are.
It works. Seems a little slower than the built-in reader in my laptop was, but when that reader failed, I bought this one instead of buying a new laptop or sending it off for repair. No problems so far. I use it primarily for reading SH-HC cards and Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. Works fine for both. I'm sure it reads other types of cards just as well. Can't really comment on durability, but it has worked fine for the 3 months I've had it.
A little pricey, but all of these at Best Buy are. They gotta make some money somehow, and these little accessories are how they do it. But I'm not complaining, it sure is nice to be able to run down to Best Buy when I need something today. The higher price is the price of convenience.

What's great about it: Easy to set up
If you ever get stuck without the proper camera cable, this little device is so easy to use to read standard memory cards. Buy one and you don't have to worry about the different cables that come with every camera. This little gizmo was a life saver when my daughter forgot her camera cable at her college but now it is a great tool in my computer arsenal.

I have a usb port on my television so I plugged this in and put my sd card in and have an instant slide show of all the pictures on my card. It was just that easy. This Dynex memory card reader is dynomite!!!

I was able to plug the Dynex memory card reader into my Mac and use it immediately. I've had no problems with it, and it doesn't take up much desk space.

What's great about it: Super easy to set up, compact, works great, good price for its use

So I bought this because my camera-to-computer USB cord was failing on me. The instructions for setup were super easy. I plugged it in, plopped my MS Pro Duo in there, and it popped up RIGHT away! I didn't even have to install the software from the disk (hopefully that won't cause problems in the future, hehe...) It's also just as easy to eject a memory card from the computer. The slots cover is rubber, so it's flexible and won't snap off, and it's so easy to insert memory cards. I also like the fact that you can use it to transfer photos etc from one SD card to another, although personally I haven't used it in this way yet.
Bottom line - best deal for something quick, simple, and easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!
