What's great about it: Sims customizing
What's not so great: Cant create cities
"Sims 3 can be a great upgrade from Sims 2, but right now it is just to lacking. Can not create your own cities, Can not really customize the ONE city you are given. Like another review said, we should have een given things that were from Sims 2 and its expansions. Pets, Ability to create stores, shopping (Not just going to a store and getting a mene screen), Sis seem to be more artoony than in Sims 3. Its great teh ability to change colors and patterns of items, there are more choices in creating Sims, and the loss of the Download screens is fantastic! I hope the expansion sets will give us back the deep experience that was Sims 2."

"This game is so awesome! It so great because you get a lot more chooses of hair and clothes, and there is nothing that is bad about! I really like it because the sims look alot more detailed and 3D, and i especially love the clothes!"

Really Good Game!

What's great about it: New features, More Customization
What's not so great: No pets, graphics
"The graphics are kind of bad worse than The Sims 2. Their are no pets :( but you can now customize more of your sims and with more clothes. MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE YOUR GAME!! Updates include ALOT of fixes and it makes it easier to navigate."

"the game is awesome. just like all the sims before it, I love it.
but just a heads up, if you are thinking of using the "download" button and not the "add to cart" or going to the store to buy it your self. i dont advise it.
the company you buy it through is NOT best buy.
i had to call to get any info about it, and I was informed that it could take 1-3 days to process your order before you can download it. if you were like me and assumed you would be able o download instantly, you are wrong."

Confused

What's great about it: It's a fun game and the graphics are good.
What's not so great: It crashes my computer!
"I am so confused. I got this game a month ago, around July 25th, and I installed it fine and everything. Then when I went to the computer the next day, it was off and it wouldn't restart properly. My dad was somehow able to fix it. The next time I tried to play the game, this same thing happened. I'm confused because I just got my computer from best buy this past spring, and it wasn't a cheap computer."

A dissapointment

What's great about it: Better graphics, ability to move around city without loading screen
What's not so great: Limited objects, outfits and hair
"Overall, i was very dissapointed with the game. I thought that the Sims 3 would contain all the expansion packs of the Sims 2, with better graphics and more customisation and things to do, but no. I feel that EA Limited us of many things , including things that were in the Sims 2!
I dont understand why we cant create our own cities.. that was one of the funnest parts of the sims 2. And no diving board? Teleporting into your car? What the hell?
Omg and the glitches! sometimes my sims stand in front of the toilet for 2 hours before using it!
Now they're taking the good furniture and puting it on their online shop.. Why would someone want to waste their money on buying furniture for a game that costs 50-70 dollars? theyre supposed to put all of it in the game!
AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT SCROLLING, GO ON OPTIONS AND THERES A CHECK BOX ON ONE OF THE LISTS SAYING "EDGE SCROLLING" CLICK ON IT TO ACTIVATE IT AND IT WILL WORK
AND THERES ANOTHER SLIDE BUTTON TO INCREASE YOUR SIMS LIFE SPAN IN THE OPTIONS MENU.
Honestly, they could do better. I am not happy at all with this game."

"When I went to the store to look for a computer game i had seen the sims 3 and at first i was kind of skeptical on getting it because of the graphics (which are really good). The reason i was skeptical is the sims 2 that i used to have would run extremely slow on my laptop but for some reason the sims 3 runs a lot better. Then again the graphic detail slides are all the way down under options. The game has a lot more things to do and customization has reached a new height for the series. One big achievment is that its finally going into sandbox style (open world). Also im glad that there adding expansions which means even more hours of fun. I would recommend this game to anyone that has a computer that can run it well enough."

"I was Adicted to Sims 2 and now i'm adicted to sims 3. It's a lot of fun there is way more options than sims 2. Way better graphics. I've been playing Sims for so long that I don't think it's difficult other people might though."

"I tried this on my friends computer and it was really slow. Sims 2 I think is much better and you get a lot more choices with the hairstyles, clothes, and furniture. Sims 3 has great graphics, but all the Sims look the same to me. Overall it's fun but Sims 2 is a better deal."

What's great about it: it's addicting!
What's not so great: at times it can get complicated
"I have to start off by saying that at first I really disliked this game and was very disappointed. The graphics were terrible on my laptop and worked rather slow, but then I switched over to my dad's computer and it looked/ran great! (So obviously, you should make sure that you have all the requirements+a video card that is listed as required on the back of the game box) Since the game debuted they already came out with a patch which fixed one of the main problems like the speeds(which now work like they were suppose to) and other minor things. A new patch is set to come out in a couple of weeks. The gameplay/story progression is okay, but with a mod installed its made this game so much better! It does what story progression should have done to begin with. As for the cheats, most work, others don't. But the ones I use the most are the best ones in my opinion. So yeah, EA didn't do a great job from the start but I'm sure with time the game will be far more superior then its predecessors."

"This game is very fun to play and includes many new features that give the game an edge over previous sims games. It doesn't feature as many clothing items or customization options as previous sims games, but the game play makes up for that. Its definitely one that everyone should have."

"I love everything about this game, you can customize your character so it can look exactly like you. The actual game play is the best part though you can make your house exactly how you dreamed it. Overall this is like being in a virtual life, and you can do whatever you want with it. :D"

"i bought it, attempted to install it on 1 computer, wouldnt install. tried my sis' laptop, wouldnt install on that. tried my second computer, installed but when i when to play it, it said i needed to upgrade my video card. I'm not going to pay $200 to upgrade my computers for 1 game."

What's great about it: No loading screens, you can go anywhere on the neighborhood, etc.
What's not so great: Had to buy a new graphics card and memory just for this game
"First of all, this game is AWESOME! It's really fun to play at first, but for me, after playing for about 5 hours, it got boring. Another thing about this game is that you must have a really good computer or you need to be really lucky to play this game. I had to buy a new graphics card that cost me $100 and more memory for about $50. So this game actually cost me $200. Even after all that, I still get a black screen while Im playing, and I need to restart my whole computer. I also had the Disc Authication Failure when I tried to play the game at first, so it was a real bummer for me. Overall, this game is worth it. Its everything I expected and more, but I do warn you that you might have a lot of glitches like a lot of people have had as well."
