What's great about it: Nice graphics, Fun game options.
What's not so great: Game would freeze on PC. Couldn't save games.
I installed the game, but didnt play it much. My PC kept freezing every time I tried to save my game. I started the game, built a house, created Sims, but PC would freeze up and had to restart the game. Im running Windows 7 and found that I may have had to stop running background applications and do some other things to my Windows settings to get the game running properly. Too much of a pain to do all this for a video game. Now, the game just sits with no use. I cant return it, so I'm stuck with a game that doesnt work for me. I love the Sims and hope I can use this with a different PC one day. I purchase the console version of the Sims 3 for Playstation 3. The graphics arent as good and gameplay options are more limited, but it's works flawlessly and I have alot of fun with it.

What's great about it: You can control the sims life, decortate the house, ect.
What's not so great: VERY addicting, sims age to fast
Sims 3 is a great game. You can control the sims life the way you want to. You get to pick the sims pesonality, chose how the sim will look, decorate your houes, and a LOT more. One asset I really enjoy about the game is that you can do most of the things you do in real life. Bad things about the game is that it is VERY addicting and the sims age to fast. Over all it is an awesome game.

What's great about it: Excellent game hands down!
What's not so great: Building options, I guess...Great game!
Okay, like some people on here I had purchased the previous versions of The Sims and to go further back the original SimCity for that matter. I tried a beta version a friend sent me to see if The Sims 3 stacked up as good as previous versions of The Sims games. I have to admit that The Sims 2 was a great game and excellent sequel to the original The Sims, but The Sims 3 is even better with its options and playability.
I do wish there were a few options available to the experienced players, but there are so many supporting sites out the internet, game play content does NOT have to come directly from EA. The lack of build options for cities can be a drawback, but if one wanted to build cities, buy SimCity instead! Decorative objects are available from thesimsresource.com and some of the best options for making gameplay more fun (or easier), modthesims.com has tons of modding options to increase gameplay!

What's great about it: Many more options in what path the sims lives will take
I have used the original Sims and The Sims 2 and was thrilled when they announced The Sims 3. It is so much fun being able to have so many more options for the sims lives. I know people have had problems with it crashing and I did at first too. But believe me its their computers because after that I got a new computer that far exceeds the requirements and it runs smoothly, fast, and without any problems. I hope that anyone who decides to buy it is as pleased with it as I am.

What's great about it: being able to follow your sim everywhere except work.
What's not so great: Can't change a sims face or body features once their created.
I love the Sims 3 game. I love how everything is more detailed and you can follow your sim everywhere etc. But I don't like the fact that if you give your town free will while you play one family any sim can die or get married and you can't fix it unless you start your game all over.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't buy sims 3! it DESTROYED my hard drive and crashed my computer. Just don't buy unless you want to buy a new computer.

What's great about it: Easy to install and start up right away; addictive play
What's not so great: Still can't go into some buildings on the game.
I started my Sims experience with the original game where the adults never aged and when babies turned into children they never grew up. It was fun, but when the Sims 2 came out I was thrilled with how much better everything got...and it was just as easy to use as the original game. Now with the Sims 3...OMG...it's the best. I love that you can follow you sim everywhere and the expansion packs are amazing. It's easy enough for a beginner to grasp and complex enough for experts to test themselves. LOVE IT!!!

What's great about it: 1 of the best PC games ever!
What's not so great: SUPER ADDICTIVE!!! LOL!!!
I've always loved the Sims for the PC. It's sooooo much better then a gaming console! There are literally no limitations (unless you have less than a 3 gig RAM) and you can go to different websites like thesimsresource.com to download mods into a zip file. Just follow the instructions (it's pretty easy, but can be VERY time consuming if you download a lot of mods like I do, lol!). They also have GREAT cheat codes at gsn.com where you can make it so you have infinite money & your needs never go down. That way you can spend all your time learning new skills/making friends without having to go to the bathroom/eat/sleep, etc.....In short, it's a great game, a classic & everyone should have at least 1 Sims game for their PC!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Graphics, detail of customization, mostly everything.
What's not so great: Some minor bugs and glitches, and some lag.
I just love this game. The graphics are improved from The Sims 2 and sims go to the bathroom less which was pretty annoying in 2. The graphics are good. I love playing the game, I can play for 24 hours non-stop. I have an average computer and play this at 60FPS. I reccomend you buy this game because it is the best game ever.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Gets you into the game, have a job, have athlete classes, all that!
What's not so great: They Age Very Fast, Doesn't show you how to do the challenges they want you to do, like "The Dish Showdown"
The First Time i Heard about The Sims, i thought i tried it out, so i did, i really liked it, cause you can build relationships, buy a car, have a family, have a career, go to class, friends, house, all that, but as i played the game as long as i can, they AGE really fast, and when he ages more he ages he/she gets very sad,but thats if you fast forward, and i'm thinking thats how they feel when they start to age like that when they get old, anyways the graphics are really good, if you have an analog display, and set it as the highest quality to 1920X880 something like that, its great, very crisp imaging, also when i play the game, right before when i press PLAY, it pops up that i should resolve a problem with the game, or resolve some debug, but the last second the game starts, overall the game is good!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Almost endless variety and scenarios to explore
What's not so great: I wish they would get over making you put that disc in each time you start.
Let me keep this short and sweet. I have not played with the Sims since the original version came out for the PC many years ago. I never really got into it so totally passed on Sims 2. I do not know why, but SIMS 3 caught my eye and I took the plunge. I run this on PC with a Pentium i7 processor and a Samsung LED monitor and it is spectacular! It is an engaging game that draws you in and can hold you for hours in front of the computer. It offers such variety, especially with the expansion packs, that it is fresh and new each time I run the game. The animations are frankly amazing and with a high-end computer system, the graphics stunning. I am so SIMS hooked. I would say that when you purchase it, just get ready to add Ambitions, World Adventures, and Late Night. You are going to want them once th bug gets its teeth into you. SIMS 3, you've come a long way baby!

What's great about it: Diagonal object placement. Can build basements. Capability of new interactive professions when purchasing Ambitions.
What's not so great: EA charges money for objects that are not included with the game.
The Sims3 fills the gap that Sims2 could not. I know people who play this game and watch their sims go through life and I know people who just like building houses and buildings. Overall I feel that EA did a good job making the game and it's one of those that you don't have to hover over your younger child's shoulder because you're worried about what they will see...for the most part.

Like usual, EA is sucking your money out of your pocket book slowly over time by releasing the expansion packs. It seems that the "stuff" packs have fewer and fewer items in them for the same amount of money. Instead of allowing the user to design and create their own furniture and objects, EA has decided that it should be left up to them to do and then charge you to buy each item that you want through their store front.
Static sims that you aren't controlling seem to become overweight quickly now. I created a few and then moved on to a new family and noticed that the original ones I created became quite beefy even though they were focussed on athletisism and active traits.
Your sim's automobile just appears when you want to go somewhere instead of watching them get into it and driving away.

This game has an amazing number of enhancements from the 2nd game. You can completely custimize the way your sim looks in addition to making your own color/textures for every object in the game. You can copy formats accross objects so that everything matches, and saves you time! I have not gotten to the play mode yet, but the building/buying side is 10x improved over the sims 2. Placing objects is easier than ever. On angles you can rotate objects every 45 degrees, and also place most objects inbetween the grid (each grid tile is devided into 4 sub-grids for more flexibility). This is great for centering objects in odd size rooms.
Overall a great experience and addition to the Sims family!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's not so great: When someone dies all they do is cry and death is really creepy looking

My sister bought me this game a while back because she knew i liked the sims 2. Boy was that a bad idea because i now spend countless hours on the computer just playing this game. this game has endless, and I MEAN ENDLESS possibilities! you can do almost anything and everything you want in here, grow your perfect garden, make a dream house, cheat on your spouce, or live in a shack next to a dumpster, it's all up to you. I am so excited for the ambitions expansion pack to come out! This game is a must for everyone!!! The best game ever, im not lying... if you try it, you'll love it. no questions ask!

What's great about it: Installs on only one disc
What's not so great: Bad graphics, Slow, Not nearly as many features as The Sims 2.
The Sims started as a great game. One and Two were awesome! Unfortunately, The Sims 3 isn't worth almost $50, due to performance problems, bugs, and lack of features. The performance problems are an issue with even the best computers. I have an Alienware gaming computer. it's got 5 GB of RAM, and a quad processor, and still, the frames per second are disappointing. If you have a extremely expensive gaming super-computer, you may be able to play this. If not, you're wasting your money. The Sims 2 is way better, and it actually runs smoothly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
