What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: except the music.
Persona 4 may be the best RPG ever created. Its predecessor, Persona 3, created a unique and beautiful system by combining RPG-style battles with a sim-style social link system. Whereas most sequels usually have the same basic elements and therefore the same problems, Persona 4 has fixed all of the issues in Persona 3. The main character lives in a much larger world with a greater variety of things to do, the Midnight Channel (in which you battle enemies) is much more diverse than Tartarus (the dungeon in Persona 3), and you can actually control your friends in battle. Any faults that Persona 3 had are long gone, making an already great game even better.
The storyline is great, combining a dark and serious mystery with funny, light-hearted but BELIEVABLE characters. It is a long game, so don't think you're going to beat it in 5 hours. The graphics are decent for PS2, and although the music gets repetitive, the opening song is so catchy that I'll let that slide. All in all, this is one of the most enjoyable games ive played in a long time.

What's great about it: Great game mechanics, amazing story, and awe-inspiring soundtrack
What's not so great: The graphics may not be to everyones taste
The Persona series is often described as the light-hearted series of Shin Megami Tensei games. Mainly because of the fact that the dark tone is relieved by humorous characters, who seem believably human. The fight system will be pretty familar to anyone who has played a Japenese RPG, however there are a few refreshing features that set it apart from other JRPGs.The story is still a bit dark however but much less so then earlier entries (ex. Persona 3"s characters pointed guns to their heads everytime they used a skill). In all the game is a fun experience, however the anime-inspired graphics and long sections of written dialog may annoy some.

What's great about it: over 50 hours of gameplay, Challenging but rewarding
What's not so great: Graphics seem to be a little week compared to later PS2 games, repetitive music
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is an Japanese RPG, Sequel to 2007's Best RPG Persona 3. You play as MC (Main Character) moving into a new town only to find out the time you move there is the time mysteries deaths have been occuring. It's up to the player to find out whats going on before another victim is killed. What makes this game different from other RPG's is that you are living day by day, and also by the social links you built within the game. You go to school, join clubs and do part time work, but you also fight enemies in what is call the midnight channel. So you are working hard to balance work and studies while defeating shadows (the enemies of the game) and saving victims from certain demise.
The major draw of this game is its social links system, used to build friendships with classmates but also used to upgrade persona's, the source of your power and needed for battles within the game. This game isn't going to be a cake walk though, with every enemy you face will become harder than the last so you will need to think on your feet in battle. This isn't a short game either, this game can run up to 70 hours depending on how you play it. The music is catchy but does get repetitive from do to being repeated.
Overall this is one RPG that every gamer should enjoy, don't miss out on it.

What's great about it: Good storyline
What's not so great: impossibly hard in some parts
If you are a fan of the Persona series, then this game is a must. The storyline is different then the previous, it is more centered around your family that you have been sent to live with. A murder mystery unfolds and you are your friends must watch your tv sets on rainy nights at midnight to determine and save the next victim.
The game is great and also features the social networking aspect. Depending on what clubs you join and relationships you pursue, you will gain different personas and powers.
The game is fairly entertaining, my only complaint is that parts of it are ridiculously hard, so it is best to play it on the easy level so that you get the ten chances to be revived when knocked out. I say this because on one boss fight i used all ten. If not I would have had to have started the same fight over many times to beat it.
