This computer came in an in store package with a printer and monitor. This computer will do everything that I need and more. the only downside is that pretty much the only upgradable components are RAM and hard drive, because it is a slimline model. However for the basic user that isn't too focused on gaming quality this computer will exceed your expectations in every way.
What's great about it: for the price a really good computer
What's not so great: Not much upgradable due to slim profile

This computer has a decent boot up time and great performance throughout. It's a great, great business desktop for sure. 8 USB ports is phenomenal, 64-bit is great for multitasking, and for only $500 it's a definite steal.
I've had great experiences with this desktop even though in the past, I haven't had great experiences with Dell overall which is why I'm extremely happy with my HP Pavilion laptop. On the contrary, this desktop functions well.
I wish there was maybe better graphics but these are pretty good so, it's not a major deal. I'm not a gaming person, and I don't think this computer was made for gaming. Also, I'm disappointed there's no wireless connectivity built in. This is especially disappointing if you like to link multiple computers in a home or business to one another. My recommendation for this is to upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out and use the feature called "HomeGroup" which I'm a big fan of.
What's great about it: 8 USB ports, great price, nice and speedy, 64-bit is good for businesses
What's not so great: Graphics could be better, no wireless connectivity built in

This is a great little computer, got monitor, tower and printer for $599. People who wine about initial fan speed are simple wining, it operates very quitely, sets up in a minute or two and is quite fast for doing day to day things. If surfing the net, photo/music storage are your main needs this computer is great. Wish I would have waited for Windows 7, with W7 on this computer you should be able to really scoot through most tasks.
What's great about it: Fast, good looks
What's not so great: vista

I have only had it for a year and it already needs a memory stick, The D drive says its only has 14.7 of memory left I use it for school and gaming. I have no idea what could be taking up all that space in the D drive to need another memory stick, then that tells me that it doesn't have all the memory it started with from day 1, this is my first dell and I can't say I would ever buy another one.
What's great about it: let me think
What's not so great: its loud when it starts up

This PC comes with the 64-bit system, which does not work with anything. I called Dell, they sent me the 32-bit CD ROM, and now it is working great. I bought the package deal that came with the Flat screen 20” monitor and a printer. The four GIGs of RAM is super fast. In addition, the 500 GIG Hard drive is outstanding. Great buy!!
What's great about it: I love it
What's not so great: DO NOT USE THE 64bit Please use the 32bit

I have had really no problems at all except having to try to get on the internet but that is my fault for buying a second computer for the house and not realizing I have to set it up as a wireless computer. Once you're on it is quick. The person who bought this computer and complained on his review did not buy a powerful enough computer for what he wants to do with it. That is why there are computer catergories. Please investigate before buying. Again great computer for the price. I bought this as a package with monitor and printer/scanner/ and copier.
What's great about it: The speed of the processor and easy hooking up devices
What's not so great: Sideways CD/DVD loading

We bought this for emailing, surfing the web, and school projects and we are very pleased with the performance Vista is easy to adapt to,the LCD screen is really nice. The fan could be a little bit quieter but it is not so loud you can't stand it. For everyday home use this is a excellent computer at a very reasonable price.
What's great about it: Small, fast, easy to set up,bundled package is a great buy for the price!
What's not so great: Fan is a tad loud.

Got the CPU, 19" flat screen monitor and Canon Pixma printer for $599 - great deal! Easy to set up, a cinch to use. Fans do run loud for about 3 seconds on start up, but tech guy at work said that's a good sign that fans are revving as needed for best operation. Runs VERY quietly other than that. Haven't had it long enough to comment on longevity or reliability. Have had a Dell in the past - excellent tech support and can't recall any major problems.
What's great about it: Easy to get started, great price - bundled with monitor and printer
What's not so great: 64-bit driver seems to prohibit most current Adobe Flash program from loading

Unless you are only reading e-mail and surfing the Internet, I would not purchase this PC. The OS is Vista 64-bit, so plan on tracking down drivers for anything that you plan to attach to the PC. This PC also comes with a very poor video card. In order to upgrade to a better graphics card, you will need to find one that fits a low profile desktop and will work with a 230 Watt power supply. The PC also does not come with a media card reader. There is a slot, but it is not compatible with any of the 3rd party internal devices.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: No chance to upgrade

After having numerous failed attempts with HP desktops, I decided to purchase this Dell. With 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive, not to mention the super fast processor, the price can not be beat! As for people saying the computer is loud, the fan goes full speed for all of 2 seconds and then you don't hear anything from the computer. The slim design is also a plus, as well as the numerous USB ports. I LOVE this computer, and I recommend it to anyone who needs a basic office computer!
What's great about it: Great price, fully loaded, easy to use
What's not so great: nothing!

Upgraded our 2003 Dell with this product. My 12 yr old set up the system in about 15 mins, we used a Microsoft Vista product to convert files/settings/email from old to new computer and away we went. Perfect system for homework, projects, email and internet browsing/research. Great value, over $300 savings with entire package.
What's great about it: Easy set up, exellent functionality for middle school homework/projects, internet research and email.
What's not so great: Nothing yet!

The price was right at $570 with a 19" widescreen monitor and printer included. It was easy to set up; however, things just fell apart when we we pushed the power button: it lit in amber color (not blue) and the fan went at full speed, but nothing else happened. Not even the Dell splash screen or a message. I tried to turn it off by holding the power button down for several seconds and it would not turn off! The only remedy was to turn off the surge protector strip.
I unplugged the monitor, plugged it again and this time it started. I was a little uneasy, but I figured that perhaps the monitor had not been plugged correctly the first time, even though I knew I had tighten the screw holders. I put my fears away and continued with the process. We managed to run the lengthy Windows configuration and log in.
Since this computer doesn't have built-in wireless networking we had to install a USB adapter. The instructions from Linksys indicated to turn the computer off before plugging the adapter, so we did. We plugged the adapter and pushed the power button and...you guessed it: The button light turned amber and the fan went full speed.
I tried once again to turn it off by holding the power button down for almost one minute without luck. Again, the only solution was to turn the power strip off. After trying to reset all the back panel connections we tried again, and again without luck.
Next step was to unplug everything and put it back in the box. It's going back tomorrow.
What's great about it: Low price
What's not so great: completely unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're looking to buy a basic PC just for word processing, surfing the web, and listen to music, then this is a perfect desktop PC. It's very simple to use too.
However, it's not without its flaws. For one, it lacks a lot of key hardware components, such as a decent graphic card, HDMI output, or a lot of USB ports. In addition, whenever the fan kicks on, sometimes it can get awfully loud, like using a Dust Buster vacuum. Finally, sometimes the PC will turn back on automatically whenever you go into hibernation or sleep mode.
Bottom line, this is a very basic PC for a basic PC user. If you're going to be doing other stuff, such as video editing, PC gaming, or photoshop, then you may want to consider getting another PC.-
What's great about it: Simple to use; Great for basic work
What's not so great: Lacks key hardware components; fan awfully loud

i you wanted to spend $600 plus tax on this computer you're down right crazy. this computer runs vista at a descent rate but its pretty slow. all you can so on this computer is the basic things. multitasking is OK. only because of the 4 GB of ram it comes with. if you want to play online games get a better computer. its not worth the price you pay. you probably would want to end up upgrading the graphics card and maybe the processor.
What's great about it: the ram capacity
What's not so great: processor and graphics card are horrible for the price.
