What's great about it: its returnable
What's not so great: Short wires, no remote, doesn't always work,

"I bought this speaker system on the advice of the Geek squad guy standing next to me. It was the worst advice he could have given me. The bass is terrible and doesnt adjust automatically. I watch tons of movies and videos online and the bass would distort all talking and the special effect scenes would be so distorted that I had to take these speakers back. Returned them after two weeks for another set and again they were terrible. The music from my Ipod and Iphone was so bad my neighbors complained that it was irritating their cats. Don't buy it for free!!!!"

What's great about it: Great sound quality and control
What's not so great: Can't think of anything negative

"I bought these speakers for the gaming laptop I recently purchased and they're everything I expected. The bass is great and if it happens to be too strong, it has its own volume control on the right speaker, next to the master volume. The sound quality is clear and sharp as well. What more could I ask for in an easy-to-setup speaker system with quality sound, strong bass, and simple controls at a reasonable price? I give it an A+."

What's great about it: Sound is really powerful .
What's not so great: I can't find anything wrong with these speakers.

"I picked these up over at the Best Buy on North Ave. They had them all lined up so you could hear the difference between all the choices with easy buttons to push to turn them on. This set was really good for the money! I don't think you will be disapointed if you buy them on-line if you are looking for desk or bedroom speakers.

The set-up was super fast and easy, although the cradle thing is a joke. I easily plugged in my laptop or CD player, or Nano, and the sound was great for all. Between this and lyrics.com I am now a singing fool! And luckily no one else has to hear me:) BUY 'UM!!!!"

What's great about it: Great bass response
What's not so great: Distorts at (very) high volumes

"I was looking to add some decent sound to my computer for a house, but didn't want to spend a whole lot. From my experience in audio, I know that you can't beat the sound of a seperate subwoofer. For my computer, I'm listening to music, and not great quality necessarily (MP3's, websites). I'll save the surround sound experience for my home theater!

The setup was quick and painless; plug it in to the speaker outlet (headphone style jack), plug it into power.

The sound is excellent, and this new Insignia has a much larger bass than the other model. The controls are decent to manage the bass; lower volumes require a higher setting on the subwoofer. In fact, with the background thumping, you don't need a lot of volume for the speakers.

I've been very happy with each and every Insignia brand product I've purchased. Best Buy sources these electronics out and puts their own name on them. Insignia is a great way to find good value but not "cheap" like you would at Walmart."

What's great about it: Great sound, Easy set-up, easy access to volume and bass control
What's not so great: I-pod dock isn't I phone/Touch friendly

"The NS-3698 speakers are hands down the best low price 2.1 speakers offered at BestBuy. The sound quality is fantastic, it's extremely clear and there's no white noise like in the comparable Logitech 240s. The construction is smart. Except for the power cable, everything comes from the right speaker rather than the woofer, which makes the cables easy to manage. The ipod dock is standard plastic, it doesn't work for the touch and iphone, but the input cable is a bit short, so it's actually easier to let the ipod lie flat than to prop it up on the deck."
