"I got this computer about 2 weeks ago now, and I LOVE it! I have been wanting a new laptop for a while now to replace my older dell, and after talking to friends, people at stores, and looking at online reviews, I got this one! When I bought this computer I also bought microsoft office, norton, and the Sims 3. I've installed all of them, and the computer works great with all! Even the sims 3! The battery life is awesome! I frequently travel on plane trips, so a long battery life is a HUGE deal for me! Plus, I got the computer right after it went on sale, so I saved about $35. The computer does get alot of smudges on it, but it's nothing a little windex can't solve!!
I would def. recommend this laptop!!"

What's great about it: nice size but MIC HORRIBLE DEFECTIVE ON EVERY one I tried! RECALLED NOW What's not so great: MIC horrible, defective and fuzzy.... Mic Mic Mic Mic horrible.
"I Bought this laptop and EXCHANGED IT 3 times. EVERY TIME THE MIC WAS a DEFECT. Horrible. I even drove to another store thinking it was a bad batch at one store. Best Buy was shocked as well. They gave me a full refund. They say this model is now being discontinued! AND Toshiba has made a serious error and is recalling these."

What's great about it: Very light, great battery life, very fast, and so far reliable. What's not so great: Gets smudgy pretty quick, but no biggy/
"Well first off let me say before buying this computer i had been searching for a Laptop for quite sometime. I decided to buy the Asus computer due to its superior hardware(graphics card). However i walked into the bestbuy to try it out, and it was horrible. The computer had a cheap feeling keyboard, a very unresponsive touchpad, and it seemed just overall cheap(and i've heard its not realiable, but i can't garentee anything). I worked my way to the Toshiba's and found this one, a cheaper one, and a dell. I decided on this one because it is very light and the battery life is a six hour plus on powersave features. Everything so far has been quick and solidly builit and i have no complaints other than it is slow at startup(Vista's fault) and it gets smudgy... other than that its a great CP for the price. Especially the CPU, def worth the extra hundred bucks"

"Got this laptop 1 month back and happy to say no problems a such.It is a great deal where you get pretty decent config and i have also been playing games and had no problems but of course without a graphics card soem of them dont look great but the overall performace is really good with a quick starup and good response time.Some of the minor probles are the DVD drive can be really noisy,no DVDs come with it but you can make recovery discs through Toshiba software and smudges as everyone has been saying but they are small problems.I have not had any issues with wifi and it works good.In all I would say this is a great laptop for students like me and value for money."

"Great computer. The monitor was defective and quit after I'd only had the computer for two weeks, however, and I had to send it back to Toshiba for repair (Best Buy would not replace it for me). Toshiba fixed it at no charge and had it back to me in less than a week! Now that speaks volumes for Toshiba. I am very happy with this computer."

"I am sorry to hear some people complaining about this computer. I bought mine three months ago and i like it so hard that i just bought one for my wife to replace her HP. I do not use it for games though. (buy a play station 2 for 99 bucks) First of all, i am very familiar with computers since i have been using them during the last 15 years. This machine runs faster than any other; movies play well too. The sound is loud and clear. Wi-Fi works great too and the battery gives you four good hours without need to charge it. As we all know, some machines just fail no matter the price or brand. I would definitely recommended this computer especially to college students and teachers."

"I bought this computer 20 days ago, to replace a older 17in computer. I like the Toshiba Products, and have had several laptops over the years. That is the reason I purchased the M305 , I liked it's looks, the fact that it was fairly light, and had a long life battery. I had read the Consumer Reports that rated this computer as a best buy, I wanted a computer that was reliable, and the ability to access WiFi. easily. I could have purchased a less expensive computer and not have the hassle of repairs. I am very disappointed with this product. It took me about 2 weeks before I could use the WiFi since I was in an area it was not available. When I did hit the road, and relying on various hotspots such as Love's truck stop, Flying J etc. I had a very hard time in getting on line with the WiFi. I had to do a system restore , while traveling, I called Toshiba 2 x's The best they could do was have me send the computer back to them for repairs, leaving me without a computer for several weeks, a little hard while traveling. I do not have Internet on that computer, I have to use my heavy 17in for my internet needs. I also purchased a less expensive Toshiba Laptop for my Son-in-law, he has no problems with his internet connections.. He can get on the internet when I cannot. On the Bright side through, I contacted Best Buy's, and told them of my problem, and the fact that I am presently staying about 3 to 5 hours from the nearest Best Buys. They are going to help me when I can get near a Best Buy's in the next few days. They said they would help me in repairing the computer while I wait. I hope it works."

"This is a really good laptop. However, if you bought it thinking the Lableflash drive was a good thing, you are about to be dissapointed. I've walked into several stores in Minnesota and Berlin, Germany. As of June 2009, not one sells Labelflash disks. You can only get the disks online at a very few sites, one of which is Best Buy. And they are very expensive. None of the Toshiba laptops that I looked at in Germany had a Labelflash drive. Labelflash is essentially unsupported. Lightscribe disks will not work in it. Toshiba should be required to replace these drives with Lightscribe drives."

"Coming from an XP operating system, the first thing I noticed was how long Vista takes to boot up. Once it's up & running however, it runs quite well. I was also looking at an HP, but this one was recommended to me by the sales associate. She showed me the reviews on line, which were helpful, plus the laptop was $50 less than the HP."

"This laptop was really good for the first couple month but then it had defects so I sent it back to the company and they had to replace a new drive. It worked great until you play games on it. It is not a great computer for games. I just bought the Sims 3 and I can't even play it peacefully because the computer keeps turning off and I have to restart it. The worst part is nothing got saved. I Really wish I didn't buy this computer. Now I have to spend extra money and buy a cooling pad."

"I was a little hesitant to buy this because of the glossy finish but for the price i thought it was a good deal. after using it for a couple of days, the wireless stopped working. it just didnt detect any network. so i took it to best buy and asked them about the problem. they said it was defective and i exchanged it for a vaio. besides that the webcam is horrible and so is the microphone. looks very cheaply built and I always had the feeling that something could go horribly wrong with the computer any time. May be its just my bad luck or perhaps good luck that something went wrong and i had to exchange it."

"Have used this machine for 3 weeks and it has performed rather well. This laptop is a great value for the money. I can get 4-5 hours of battery life and it plays movies well. The sound is very clear. The size is perfect and the speed is very good. I am not crazy about Vista, but this computer makes it somewhat likeable. I have had no problems whatsoever running this machine."

"I have it 24 hours, the first impression: is a good purchase, price-quality hardware ratio is good. I read that some users have had problems with the touchpad but i hadn't any problems, sound is good, battery life > 4 hours, i burned the RECOVERY DVDs (3) if i need restore my sistem someday (it's not difficult). The software included is trial (office & antivirus): Norton is very heavy i prefer Kaspersky, i will change it, and i will a new logical partition, always is recommended to have two disks (C: & D:).
In short it is a good laptop, but has no separate graphics card, which is recommended for sophisticated games, but most have no more problem with that!"

"Let me begin by saying, I only got this a few days ago, however, my experience has already been excellent. For starters, the display looks very nice and the computer runs quite fast. The 4GB of memory and the Intel C2D is more than adequate for anything in the ordinary student/home use realm. It also has a dedicated graphics card and can handle most games at average settings. The 320GB, while not huge at this price, is plenty for me. The 64 bit Home Premium Vista has really been a pleasant surprise to me.
Now, the bad. The battery life is average at best. I can get 4+ hours if I'm surfing the internet or taking occasional notes. There are also no volume buttons and the Norton version that is installed, stinks. It eats up too much memory etc, and has made my PC crash once or twice.
My conclusion is that it's an excellent laptop for the money and will hold up for the longer haul. However, if you want ultimate multimedia or gaming, you should go up 1 more model and spend another $100-150."
