nice computer--beefy- But, it didn't work w/ my printer. My printer wigged out! Computer is a 64 bit, although good, not too many printers are compatible. Most that are I have found say sofeware doesn't install easily and the ones that do drink ink like gas guzzling SUV's. Battery keeps good airflow to fans however, battery kinda "klunky" heavy if you carry on campus--I have the bruises to prove it! Bump proof, all components extra secure.
What's great about it: fast processing, bright screen, plays games my friends can't, battery life great!
What's not so great: sound quality-too low, can't see keys in dim room, volume slidebar ticks too long when selecting volume
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OMG! I’ve been having this laptop for about 6-7 months, and I L O V E it! I really don’t have anything bad to say about the product, other than its kind of heavy to be caring around, but other than that, it’s PERFECT! Great speed. A great laptop for college [that’s what I use it for] I’ll recommend it to anyone!
What's great about it: E V E R Y T H I N G !
What's not so great: It's kind of heavy . . . [personal opinion]

I bought the laptop and in least than 6 months it went 3 times to HP Service and they changed cables, memory and other stuff. Some months later and still least than a year after I bought it, the touch pad did not work. They told me I have to pay $318.86 even with the laptop under warranty because they said I broke it. And just because they said that I have to pay. With a low quality laptop because any other laptop o computer I bought before had going to go to service EVER. When I complaint about it and asked for a Supervisor who can explain that to me in Spanish they said: in 24 hours someone speaking Spanish is going to call you. One week later I was still waiting... When they finally call me they just repeat the same: you broke it. Therefore because they said it I have to pay. Someone tell me, how come I could break a touch pad? And I'm not supergirl with steel fingers. Can HP consider the quality of their products?
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: everithing

This laptop is very good for the price. I like the speed and performance of the system after you get rid of all the pre-loaded hp software you wont use. I cant figure out why they would want to load up there pc's with there performance consuming software that makes your laptop slow right out of the box. I recommend the geek squad pre-sweep or whatever they call it for 30 dollars if you do not have the experience to do it yourself. It requires more than just removing the programs from the control panel. OK, so the one bad thing about this laptop that nobody really mentioned. The wireless card is horrible with any sort of long distance reception. Not only that a laptop built in 2009 should accept N wireless networking its been out for 3 years now its basically the standard. You will be stuck with g why everyone is getting N's 15x the speed and coverage. I guess they have to cut costs somewhere. All in all for the price i shouldn't complain but something like that should be a standard now. And hp's customer service sucks bad. Buy geek squads protection plan if you have the extra cash well worth it.
What's great about it: Great proccessing power and memory for 64 bit system. Attractive case. Long Battery life
What's not so great: The Wireless Card is poor quality. Battery is a bulky kickstand. No firewire port.

I bought this laptop 8 weeks ago and it only worked for the first 2.5 weeks. For the last 5.5 weeks, it has either sat broken on my desk while I tried to get the HP service team to debug the problem or it has been in the mail to/from their repair shop. I just sent it back to them for the fourth attempt to fix it. They won't replace it. The problem is that it intermittently loses all power until it won't power up at all. I had to buy another computer because this one is so unreliable.
What's great about it: Nice when it works
What's not so great: HP can't get it fixed

Bought two of these laptops, one for myself and one for my wife. The battery is outstanding and acts as a great kickstand which slopes the keyboard like it's in a docking station. It also makes a handy handle for easily putting the laptop in and out of my case. The battery life is fantastic as I have yet to run it all the way down. Can take it to work and use it most of the day (4-5 hours) without running out the battery. This elimates the need to carry the AC adapter around everywhere you go. Although the battery is heavy, not having to carry the AC adapter makes an excellent tradeoff IMHO.
This laptop scores 3.8 on the Windows Vista Experience Index. That's pretty good for an off the shelf laptop. Comes with Vista 64-bit SP1 which I have already upgraded to SP2 with no problem. The webcam works very well and is 1.3 megapixel for an excellent image. The hard drive has plenty of space and the multimedia remote and on-board buttons are handy. There is also an available slot for any future upgrades you may want to make.
The display is great on performance but I find ATI graphics gives a slightly better display than the Intel graphics on this machine (although the ATI graphics tend to be slower on performance).
The only issue I have personally come across is that at times the keys can be hard to see in certain light. HP used a reflective finish on the keyboard and so it can reflect light back at you making the keys harder to see. There is also no Bluetooth or wireless N but I have not had the need for either yet. But I could see where that could be an issue for some folks.
Overall an excellent laptop for the price. No wonder it's a top 20 pick and a Laptop Magazine Editor's Choice.
What's great about it: Fast, long battery life, & webcam
What's not so great: Keys can be hard to see in certain llight

This is a wonderful computer for the price! it is rated in the top 20 for a reason. The keys are easy and smooth, it is a very cool design, and everything is easy to use. Although the battery lasts for a very long time, the computer itself is a little big, but the huge battery makes like a mini stand for it so its easier to use.
What's great about it: the battery life is fantastic, the look and feel are also very nice, the speakers are good, and the screen is veryclear
What's not so great: the computer and battery are about 8lbs so its not the greatest to carry around, in certain lights the numb. are hard 2c

This computer is great. You get alot of bang for your buck! the webcam is really awsome, it comes with it's own hp version of photobooth. The screen is so bright and it has great picture (great for D.V.D's). The keyboard is so confortable, it's the best laptop keyboard I have ever had. The processing speed of this computer is really fast and great for multi tasking. The hp remote is great for watching movies. The hp software is awsome; hp has their own version of "Windows Media Player" and I think it is much better.
The only bad thing is that the battery is so large and bulky, but it lasts a long time. I ordered a regualar 6-cell battery so I can use the 12-cell as a back up.
What's great about it: Web cam, screen, keyboard, speed, remote, hp software, basically everything!
What's not so great: The heavy, bulky battery.

The Hp Pavilion Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6400 - Bronze/Chrome is a great computer if you are looking for a great price with general software. It would be a great buy for any college student who is looking to surf the web, conduct homework, and or entertainment purposes.
What's great about it: the price and options on the computer is a buy for value and quality
What's not so great: Doesn't have a lot of RAM and ROM if you download lots of games, music, and videos

I have had a wonderful experience with this laptop. Yes, the battery is big, but as far as I'm concerned, it creates a natural "lift" to the back of the laptop. I would much rather have that, than a 2hr battery!
No problems with memory, speed, or the ability to run different media.
I felt that the price was a little steep, after factoring in the two-year everything covered warranty, and a bag to carry it in, it came to about $900.00.
What's great about it: I love this laptop! Large bright screen, long battery life, fast performance. Does what I need it to do.
What's not so great: Volume inadequate. Even with all volume controls turned to maximum, I still have a difficult time hearing audio.

I am very, very pleased and yet excited with my purchase of this HP laptop. I've completed extensive research to find just what brand and laptop would fit my personal and professional needs. I was confident in my choice to buy this particular brand. I recently purchased this product less than a month ago and look forward to enjoying every aspect of this product.
What's great about it: The price and the multitude of perks that are added to the laptop.
What's not so great: The weight

I just recently purchased this product after long consideration. I have never been happier and i have had my share of laptops. It is a great piece of equiptment for the price. the laptop is very fast, quiet and overall good quality. i really like the sleek design.
I use this primarily for school and work, which i have never had any problems with.
the battery lasts over 6 hours if i do not do anything extensive like play a game, etc.
very pleased with this product, definately worth the money and one of the best laptops i have ever used.

I was in the mood for a laptop just because I wanted the freedom to move about the house to do things as I did dome stuff on line. I found this laptop at a reasonable price and was not happy at first but after a week of using it, I had changed my mind. The keyboard is great except I wish it was lighted for use when a bit dark in the room. A decent hard drive and RAM is a plus on this model. Easy to use however I wish I could figure out how to turn off that "Windows sercurity" window to ok things..
What's great about it: Great screen and all around great computer for the buck
What's not so great: Keyboard is great but can be difficult to see at times.. Wish it had lighted keys

I just got this laptop as a gift. I like everything about it, the hard drive capacity the memory space, the video memory and not to forget the Intel fast speed processor. I love all the built in devices like the web cam, touch mouse, and all the great input device connections. The screen is a large 15.4, the colors are amazing. The design of this laptop is just devine, the color, the shine and the feel of the keybord is nice and quiet. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone. The price is just right. The only thing that I would have liked on this laptop would be a slimmer battery, because the one that comes with it makes the laptop a bit higher from the table making the back of it rise and tilts the laptop forward. But, I'm happy with it, I just thought I'd mentioned it. I urge anyone looking for a laptop to go out and purchase this one, because this one stole my heart. Good luck...
What's great about it: I love the speed, color, capacity, design, extra features and built in devices, etc...
What's not so great: The battery makes the laptop a little higher up from the desk. But I'm happy, yeah...

I bought this laptop a few days ago because my old one (5+ years) started turning off randomly. This laptop is fast, sleek, and has an incredible battery life. I had to ask the employee if the battery life (6h45min) on the store display was a typo - its not. The only downside is that it comes with Vista.
What's great about it: great price, battery lasts 6+ hours!
What's not so great: a little heavy, battery sticks out

After reading many reviews and considering many other laptops I decided to go with this one, and I have been very pleased with my choice. I picked it up on sale for only $650. It has great speed and the battery life is great. I got the computer for college and so far it seems like its going to work great for college. There have been many complaints about the large battery but I really dont mind it. It props the computer up on an angle and it allows the computer to stay cooler. Im not sure what people were expecting when they read it had nearly 7 hours of battery life. Of course theres going to be a huge battery to allow a computer to run for 7 hours. I have had this computer for about 6 weeks and had no problems. If I could do it all again, i'd pick the same computer. Its a great computer.
What's great about it: Extended battery life and RAM
What's not so great: Nothing
