What's great about it: After shopping around this was the perfect option. I had this computer for three months and it works just great.
What's not so great: Short battery life, but I can live with that :P

What's great about it: Its a very easy set up and it has a great picture, its big enough to be able to use but small enough to take with you.
What's not so great: nothing, its an all around great computer, I highly recommend it.

What's great about it: the price is great,screen great, just about everything
What's not so great: it can be slow in some areas like at the beach

"i have had this laptop for 1 week now and i love it. i took it to the beach its light i use it for itunes mostly.web surfing is good. all the other stores were to expensive for the ones i like but when i looked here it was perfect. I WOULD recommend this laptop. have fun with it :)"

What's great about it: easy to use, good preformence and start up time
What's not so great: battery, finger print magnet

"This laptop has good speed and portability, i got it mostly for school, the battery stinks. it didn't come with a hole bunch of stupid software to slow down the performance. it did come with Microsoft works which is nice and a trial of Microsoft office. this is a very good laptop for the money. if you are the type of person that hates finger prints dont get it, but it dose come with a cloth to clean it."

What's great about it: Light, fast, Bright, Excellent for college students!
What's not so great: A little big and doesn't come with Microsoft word,,

"My parents bought this computer as a last minute replacedment for an old laptop that died. It is the greatest computer for as much as it cost. I love it and works great for my school work and papers. The internet is very fast and I can really do a lot with this computer."

What's great about it: Cheap
What's not so great: Short Battery Life, Heavy, Slow...EVERYTHING

"I purchased the model before this in June of 2007. It has always been EXTREMELY slow and not good for portability (because it's so heavy and the battery only lasts for literally two minutes. Also The Sims 3 works HORRIBLY with it. I rest my case."

What's great about it: Fast, big bright screen, cheap $, MS Vista
What's not so great: Nothing so far.

"I can't say enough about how much I love this laptop. Bought one 2 wks ago. Loved it so much I went out and bought a second one this past weekend for my wife. Both laptops rang up at $316 at the register, even though they were priced at $329 in the store.

I replaced a 7 yr old Dell pentium desktop & my main concern was whether this laptop would be fast enough performance wise. Don't be. This PC is plenty fast for my email, web surfing, and Office suites type software. Much faster than my old Dell. I don't know what others complain about, but I also love MS Vista. Much better & easier to use than XP.

I removed all the crapware that came on it & most of the MS products. I installed free products: Open Office 3.1, AVG anit-virus, Mozilla Firefox & Thunderbird. I removed the crapware using free products pcdecrapifier & Revo Uninstaller and my laptops are now lean and fast (although they seemed fast right out of the box.)

I was considering a dual core PC, but am I ever glad I didn't pay the extra money. Don't know how this laptop would do for high intense gamining, etc., but for the money this laptop is a steal."

What's great about it: Price, speed, appearance, performance, HP tech support
What's not so great: Speaker ports are on the front of the computer instead of on the sides

"I bought this in the store when it was $379. A week later the price dropped by thirty dollars and Bestbuy gave me a price adjustment - in cash!

About the computer: After a week, the first one I got had to be returned because it had a software problem. They gave me another one and since then I haven't had any problems. Had it two months now. Also, HP customer service is fantastic! They will stay on the phone with you for over an hour if necessary to help you figure something out.

It performs very well, good speed, nice sound quality and looks great. I watch a lot of DVD's on it and the picture quality is perfect. No one can believe I paid less than $350 for it. I was considering a Toshiba that cost almost $700. Glad they were out of stock that day!

Definitely buy it!"

What's great about it: The only nice thing about this computer is that it's cheap.
What's not so great: Navigation, speed of the processor, heavy weight and large body, and a host of other problems

"I am not impressed with this computer at all. I use this computer for my work. I know that my boss purchased this computer because of its cheap price. Unfortunately, we've gotten what we expected with the cheap price: a cheap, disappointing product.

I find the navigation with the Vista OS very confusing and slow. I say 'slow' in that the user must make many click-throughs to eventually reach the desired destination. Compared to my personal Macbook 13.3" with Mac OSX 10.5.7, I feel that I generally work slower using the Compaq with Vista.

I really only use the Compaq to store my work files on - I either email and/or use a USB drive to get my work onto my Mac. I perform all my work functions on my personal computer....I hate the Compaq that much!

The large size and heavy weight further make this a difficult computer to physically deal with and transport.

So, the computer may be in the $300 range - but that's what buyers should expect - a computer worth $300 will not bring about promising, fast results."

What's great about it: Easy set up, great price.
What's not so great: Nothing bad so far

"This is my first laptop, but I am more than impressed with everything about this product. Right out of the box it took less than 1/2 hour to get it going. For the size screen, it has a great picture and resolution. The speakers put out a sound that was more clear than I was expecting. The keyboard is laid out with the function keys arranged very well. The keyboard color is flat black which I personally, think looks very nice. The internal wireless LAN is connected to a wireless router in my house. When this laptop is connected to the internet, it screams! Nothing slows it down. Videos run great and downloads are fast. I use this laptop at my house, so battery life is not that critical. I can always charge up when I get low.
For the price of $329.99 that I bought this laptop for, I have no complaints. I would recommend this to anyone."

"I love this laptop. Since I only use it to surf the internet and talk to some friends over messenger, it has the perfect amount of memory. But the battery life is very short. I would charge it all day and maybe be on it for two hours and my battery is shot. But it's very simple, and I would definitely recommend it to someone that just wants a simple PC."

I just purchased this laptop and it is fast and easy to use . Thanks to the new technology of the celeron built in .It called celeron but it is actually the new-tech celeron which is superfast considered the duo-core of any other laptop cost higher .

-Very good touch pad. glossy looking outside.
-Great 15.6 screen for HD-DVD and DVD .

"Ok., So I have had this laptop for 2 months now. I purchased it for downloading my digital photographs and surfing the internet. I have been pleasantly suprised by how well this laptop performs for the price. Yes, Like most reviewers I have noticed the shortcomings in battery life and how the outside cover easily shows fingerprints. But let's face it. Most laptops do not have that great of a battery life. This laptop is very nice for the low price. This product is definitely worth a look if you are searching for an inexpensive laptop."

"I just bought this laptop, and its a great leap from the desktop I had. The computer has a bright screen and its a 16:9 widescreen to boot. Love the games its preloaded with, and the graphics are fantastic. I love how it has a DVD burner, something I didn't know when I bought it, and also a CD-RW. Lots of USB ports, 2.0, to plug in all your fun toys. Everything about this laptop,and build into this laptop, is something to brag about to your friends who spent twice as much as you did and don't have what you have. The only drawback is the battery, but, put it on power saver and it lasts almost 3 hours. Highly reccommended!!!!"

What's not so great: Maybe not for the most demanding but hey, it's cheap. Not dual core.

"This is one terrific buy. Much faster than I thought for a single core Celeron. I helped an elderly neighbor select a new laptop after her ancient one died. We picked this one and we both love it. Has everything.
To think what this price tag can buy is pretty amazing. I'm tempted to pick one up for myself for traveling, dual booting with Linux.

Of course I had to do a deep scrub and removal of all the bloatware trash PC makers put on their machines. Also disabled a lot of useless stuff."
