What's great about it: Touchscreen, swivel feature, fingerprint reader, portability
What's not so great: Touchscreen , poor battery life, loud fan, overheating

"The touch-screen and fingerprint reader were both pluses. I really like the fact that the screen swivels on its hinges so that it can be used as a pad. I was only annoyed by the touchscreen feature since my fingerprints would end up all over the screen. The battery life isn't that good, and the computer tends to overheat, a common problem for HPs and Compaqs (Compaq is owned by HP). Other than that, the computer is decent for a price, however, one could make a better investment by purchasing a computer which does not tend to overheat, or make a loud whirring noise because of its fan."

What's great about it: Touch Screen
What's not so great: Over heats with a LOUD fan!

"The computer serves its purpose for the price; but I have to say that I had higher expectations for it!

What I like about it is the rotating screen and the touch feature; also the size, even though smaller than I expected but it kindda grows on you. I also like the thumb identity sign in, even though it gets annoying after a while because it doesn't always read your thumb very well, but still, I think it's a cool feature to have :o)

The things I hate are that it is slow most of the time; it over heats and the fan is ALWAYS on and always LOUD. Also, sometimes when I rotate the screen back to the stand up position the screen stays positioned on the rotated screen, upside down that is; sometimes even when I turn the thing on! Also because it is a touch screen the screen smudges very easy blurring the words behind it...

Do I regret buying it? Not really! Would have I bought it then knowing what I know now? Probably not!"

What's great about it: Touch feature, battery life
What's not so great: The stylus cord

"The computer overall was worth the money, the touch feature was confusing at first, but easy after a few minutes... Really good battery life too... A negative to the computer is the stylus cord hanging out everywhere... If it got caught on something it has a good chance of breaking.,, but again, all in all it is a good buy and should last a long while."

What's great about it: Tablet features, touchscreen, fingerprint login ability, good looks, web cam
What's not so great: Screen and finish smudge easily, runs hot, incorrect default orientation in tablet mode

"I like this tablet pc overall. It isn't too bad giving what I paid for it, $769.99. I like the pen and touch features...the reason I bought this. I've had a Toshiba Tecra m4 tablet pc before. The motherboard and other things went out on it 8 times, but I had the in home extended warranty so I wasn't too worried. I absolutely, positively love the fingerprint recognition and the ability to login using that.

Sure this tabletpc runs hot, but every laptop I've had has run hot. I've had at least 5 laptops and 2 tablets so far. They all run hot. The performance on this one is so-so. However, I expected that to be so. It is just my spare computer for playing around, reading, and when my main computer is being reconfigured. I have a self-built desktop that runs well for my heavy-duty programming stuff.

I think this tablet is a fairly capable machine overall if you want to browse the internet, play "light" games, read e-books, email, office documents, etc. I wouldn't rely on it for heavy processing though. Plus, I get the Windows 7 Ultimate for free when it comes out. I've already submitted my claim to hp."

"I bought this computer because my friend had one and I thought the touchscreen was really neat...I have had this computer for a few weeks now and it has been pretty good...it is really fun to use this computer to play games and even doing school work...the price could be a bit lower because it just is an average computer with a touch screen...it isnt super fast and it doesnt do things other computers cant...but still it is a nice computer and I am enjoying it!"

"I got this computer one week ago after the previous model tx 1219us unexpectedly suddenly died after 2 years of heavy use. I was not sure about HP again but I like the tablet function therefore I desided to give a try. It was a major mistake. In just few days it started to have minor problems and 1 week later it didn't start at all. I don't trust HP anymore."

"I've been looking for this laptop for quite sometime now. I compared the Best Buy configurations and the price everywhere. You can't beat it!!!!! This computer is fast and as an iPhone owner, the touchscreen is pretty darn good too. The laptop does get warm after a little while, but which laptop doesn't. This is the best laptop ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Seems like HP is scamming the customers with this tablet PC. Multiple customers have had issues with the tablet PC where the display just turns blank and you need to either replace the motherboard or motherboard & display. My first laptop to die in just 13 months of operation. I am going with either a Toshiba or a Gateway. Atleast you don't overpay."

"At only $829.99 this little laptop gives a lot of bang for the buck! Removing all of the bloatware that comes pre-installed is a must but once done you are left with a pretty fast machine. I did this at www.pcdecrapifier.com but there are others that will do the job just as well. The touchscreen is accurate, very useful and lots of fun! The only downside to the touchscreen is in image quality. The touchscreen overlay "shimmers". The effect is most noticeable when viewing white or bright colored images and takes a little getting used to. For me it's a worthwhile tradeoff. If you're looking for heavy multimedia use I would look elsewhere but I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a small, powerful work machine at a reasonable price."

"i bought this laptop and i had it for 2 days, it was working fine, then the mouse started moving by itself..it was doing that on and off..but i didnt want to take a chance keeping it..since bestbuy have a 14day return policy. and they charge 15% restocking fee.. so i waited till it started acting up, and i took it back to the store.."

What's great about it: Decent Price, Good hardware
What's not so great: Flimsy Plastic casing, Finger Print Magnet

"When I first powered on this machine I was shown how much all the pre-installed non-sense can really bogg down a machine.

After using a free utility (http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/) I removed all the unwanted software that I knew I would not use. I've also make a couple of tweaks to the machine, disabled unnecessary start up items, disabled unused services, switched Windows to boot using both cpu's. After all was done, I updated all the drivers & bios, also updated to Vista SP2, the computer runs beautifully! I've used the Windows utility to shrink the Hard drive so that I could install Windows 7 on a 2nd partition, runs great on this device. PS. Be sure to Defrag the Hard drive and use Disk CLeanup after all these steps.

My only problems/concerns are that after two weeks of use the "G" key popped off the keyboard. It was an easy repair. Other than that I always feel like I am going to break the hinge to the 180 degree rotating screen. Made of cheap plastic."

"I just got this computer two days ago and I'm already completely hooked on it. The ease of use is really nice, although the performance speed is a little lackluster. I knew the performance speed wasnt going to be the best going in so I had no large disapointments. The computer itself cam with a lot of free software that didn't require additional purchase. The build of the computer itself is a little on the cheep side but I can look past that because of the features that came with it."

What's great about it: Touchscreen capabilities and tablet mode

"I believe that you would be able to appreciate it more, if you are into gadgets because this laptop has a lot to offer. The product is small and compact. It is heavier than it looks. Many would say that it is not that heavy, but I have had laptops this size before and this is heavier than most 12 inch laptops. The fan is not that noisy compared to other 12 inch laptops that is also well compact. It only becomes fairly noisy when you run programs that requires more work for the laptop; like games and stuff like that. Also, I love that it can be either a laptop or a tablet and you either use the pen provided or your fingers to navigate around through the preinstalled softwares or the web. I also think that you're getting some of your money's worth because this runs on Windows Vista Ultimate; considering that would cost in the market around $300 for the software and $200 for the upgrade alone. Although, the laptop does boot up very slow, but it can be fixed through uninstalling unwanted startup programs (in theory). I'm still exploring the laptop because it is just a couple days old and I cannot wait for the 1 year mark because many owners said that the laptop would experience some hardware malfunctions after reaching a year. I would suggest that you buy this laptop around later this year, if it still available, because HP might release newer models that are improved in all areas."
