What's great about it: Way better than its price
What's not so great: How it looks, lol..
"This product actually does better than I thought it would seeing that it was so cheap. I got it in a package deal for 450. But it's great. I thought it was going to slow down but hasn't yet after a month of usage. I've downloaded a bunch of stuff and it still is the same. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend this product if you are a student, or just like to download stuff."

What's great about it: Cheap computer loaded with extras, free printer and monitor
What's not so great: Nothing yet
"Bought a package deal for $400 in the Spring that came with the PC, Monitor, Speakers, and Printer for a steal. The last time I was in the store the sales rep couldn't believe the price I paid. When BestBuy puts together a package it's usually worth the trip. No problems with any of the items yet. I live in Houston, the home of the original Compaq and they were bought out by HP who still runs the Houston manufacturing office. HP is a good reliable name brand and this is still the best deal running for a complete PC."

What's great about it: price
What's not so great: preloads, perfomance
"The machine is okay for the price, however, comes preloaded with tuns of junk that you have to discard and like 10 different products that you have to go the websites to register. The Norton of course is only a trial and I have found that most freeware like Avira or Avast make the machine run slow. Runs much better after you discard the preloaded games whcih take up a huge amount of space. I am not a techie and would probaby go with a ddifferent one if I had the choice. Something that didn't need fiddling with.
PS: if you get the package w/the flat screen monitor, beware as the screen sets VERY low."

What's great about it: the price wasn't bad, easy set up

"I purchased 2 of these in the same transaction IN-STORE. We got them home and set them both up right away. They were great, while they worked. These were purchased mid-February, by the end of March, neither tower was working. Apparently these are KNOWN for the power supply going out just after the store warranty is up. THANKFULLY they are still covered by Compaq. Hopefully we will be able to play on our still "almost" new computers soon. It's been months and both of the towers have less than 50 hours of usage on them combined."

"I bought this Computer to replace an older Compaq pc. I only used the older one for a year. Nothing wrong with it I just needed more memory etc. I had bought it second hand. So I felt good about buying another one of the same brand. I love it it's much faster and has twice as much memory. I don't play games so I can't Review on that part. You can't beat it for the price. I will be upgradeing the monitor soon with the Compaq monitor sold here.
I don't understand why some are complaining about Vista, So far I have had no problems with Vista either."

What's great about it: It's easy to set up the box is small , it gives you the right amount of computing power and a very decent graphics card
What's not so great: Probably not the best for gaming.
"Im really happy with this one. It does everything I want it to do quickly and with out hassle.
It only comes with 3GB of RAM so if you're really into PC gaming this probably isn't a good choice. But if you're like me and don't use it for that reason it really is a good machine ( especially for the price)."

What's great about it: Good Price, HP Updates, Portability, Longer Lasting
What's not so great: Vista
"The computer is really average. Its a great price for what it is but you don't get much. Doesn't do well with software that gets downloaded to it. Long lasting as in its easy to move from place to place. It doesn't utilize its space very well (i.e. a lot of factory stuff stored). Not so great on memory. Great at finding internet. Not so good at finding and removing viruses in the system. Its Vista, and what they say about it is true"

"I'm replacing a Compaq Presario I bought about 8 years ago which still runs... just a lot slower now. I happened to notice this one on the Best Buy site. The price was right, the options were good so I thought okay. I also checked out the Consumers Report Magazine I just recieved and this computer made it into the top 10 for standard use models. I had such good luck with the first Compaq I thought I would stick with what works. I hope I have as much luck with this one as I did with my old one. Overall... runs good and is extremely quiet. Also, purchasing online and picking up in the store is great... no lines.. show your ticket and away you go."

What's not so great: no wireless networking, no restore discs
"I've only had this PC for a few hours, but based on it's performance so far, i think it's great!! I feel the price I paid is an awesome value for the system, love the Labelflash feature...nice amount of RAM (memory) & hard drive! Nvidia Graphics Card is also a big plus!! The AMD Athlon dual-core processor is not too bad either. Overall, so far I love it and am very pleased. Lets hope it stays that way =)"

"This is my first computer and I am very happy with it! It was easy to set up and upgrade by myself. I bought it mostly for surfing the web and playing games. It was easy to install an improved graphics card and a bigger power supply and I have no experience doing either. If you want to play most of the pc games out there you don't need to spend a lot of money. Get this computer and a good graphics card and a bigger power supply and you're good to go! I have had no problems with the games I have thrown at this computer so far! The only little problem I have had with this computer is a wierd error message I kept getting. I don't know if it was some program I had but I was able to fix it."

GREAT UNTIL IT BROKE DOWN JUST AFTER 30 DAYS!!!

What's great about it: computer was fast, cheap, and easy to set up.
What's not so great: this computer broke down just a little after 30 days of purchase.
"This product WAS great!!! I had a very easy time getting it set up, connecting to the internet and starting to surf the world wide web. I purchased Norton Antivirus to protect this PC from any spyware and/or adware just to be on the safe side. The graphics were pretty decent for the cost of the computer. It was pretty fast in both surfing through the web and also multitasking without freezing up on me. I barely downloaded anything onto the hard drive and all of a sudden just a little after 30 days of purchase, this thing crashed on me. I find out that the hard drive was corrupt. I know it's a cheap computer but come on, at least a year out of this thing would have been great but didn't even get that. I just got a little over a month of use and it crashed. I guess you get what you pay for. I've been pretty satisfied with the Compaq brand in the past but I don't believe they are holding up to high standards anymore. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you have experience fixing computers. Definately purchase an extended warranty on both hardware and software coverage. You may need to use it frequently."

What's great about it: It is fast with ample space for home use.
What's not so great: Keyboard & mouse cord way to short had to re-arrange desk to operate.
"I really like the computer with one exception. The keyboard and mouse cords are way too short for proper operation. I really had to re-arrange my desk to be able to operate. I do not like have the tower at a strange angle on the top of my desk. I am not a fan of wireless. I measured the cords they were two and a half foot each. Perhaps an oversight! I was very disappointed! It is a good thing the system works so great. I had no problems setting up system. It would be much better if the cords were longer. I would not have to work around this inconveince. I sure hope it was a oversight not a budget cutback. The system runs fast and seems to run well with Vista."

Great performance, with 3gm ram and 250gb memory we will have plenty of speed and the dual core processor will ensure that we don't slow down while running multiple programs and room for all our games, photos, movies, etc......
