What's great about it: Sleek design, great games, and lots of fun
What's not so great: The price could be lower since it is about 5 years old now.
I bought this for my 6 year old nephew who broke his old one. I would think with the newer Sony PSP's being released that the original version would be a bit cheaper, but it is a superb hand held gaming console.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: fun sports games with good graphics
What's not so great: I have had 2 devices freeze up and not work anymore
I wanted to warn people buying this device to buy the protection plan. I'm 40+ and received the PSP as a gift a few years ago. My first PSP would freeze up and I couldn't play the games anymore. I never dropped the game and it was always in a padded carrying case on my flights. My wife didn't buy the protection plan at Best Buy so they felt no need to provide any service to me other than a way to contact Sony. Nice customer service Best Buy. I've never bought an extended warranty policy because you don't expect a Sony product to fail miserably. I sent the game to Sony and they quickly turned around and sent me a "new" game. I thought that was fantastic until I took the battery out and saw "refurbished unit" on the inside. WHAT? I expected a fair exchange not a unit that didn't work and needed fixed! Needless to say I wrote a letter to the President of Sony. They did nothing so I've got 6 games and another broken unit.

What's great about it: Great Graphics and controls
What's not so great: Seems kind of brittle. Would not recommend it for clumsly people.
I purchased this for my daughter for her birthday. I am little worried that is it not durable but I got the protection plan.
The graphics are excellent, the sound is good and the controls are satisfying.
the best part is you can generally purchase used games at gamestop for a better price than you will get on the Nintendo DS

I bought this for my 13 year old son for Christmas this year. He had an older hand-held game from another company, but he sold me on the fact that this one had better graphics, newer games, and could play movies as well.
I had it shipped directly to him, so I have not seen it myself, but he LOVES it! On Christmas day he had it hooked up to the computer and bought several games for it, and put a couple of movies on as well. It made him happy, and that makes me a happy customer. I got it on sale for $100 through Best Buy after Black Friday with free shipping, so that made me very happy as well.

What's not so great: Some games still are on backorder two months later.
When I bought this item on Black Friday for my ten year old daughter's Christmas present, it was $20 below the rest of the pack's prices. With that savings, I purchased an extended warranty and a game. She was excited with the product. I was excited with both the product and the price. The graphics are amazing. We have yet to be able to successfully use the wifi on this product, but it is still an absolute joy. It is sleek, engaging, compact and addictive. This is an item I can see her enjoying for years to come. She and I relish the ability to transport while using with ease. Keep up the great work PlayStation and Best Buy. Together, this was a winning combination for this Christmas stocking.

What's great about it: It does everything an iPod does for a lower price!
I bought myself a PSP3000 for Christmas and love it! The screen is so clear. Now I am not much of a gamer but am at the moment playing Kingdom of Hearts and MLB 2010 and they are both very clear and life like. I actually got a case so I can take it with me when I travel. Now I am am going to get a memory stick so that I can save my place in the games! The price was also extremely reasonable. I have not tried the camera or Internet or music etc... But I expect that they will be just as great as the games. Although cameras on telephones, and portable things are never as good a reg camera. Anyway, I would recommend this to anyone! I love it!

Its just as durable as the other models, but the screen has way brighter colors. You can hook it up to your flat screen tv, play while on the go or on a break at work, on vacation, road trips.
